Ski-in & Out New Village, 60' TV, Blu-Ray DVD, Bose Surround

Some features that set this condo apart from the other Village 2 bedroom condos. Top Floor with vaulted Ceilings, 60” flat screen TV with BluRay DVD (will also play regular DVD’s) and Bose surround sound in the living room. Also large flat screen TV’s in each bedroom with their own DVD’s. This condo is only 50 yards from the gondola and ticket booths. We have invested in additional built-in lighting so that the evenings can be filled with games, jigsaw puzzles, reading (most of the other New Village condos have very limited lighting for night time activities). We have high speed wireless internet. We have also re-space planned the living area so that the sofa is back from the fireplace and TV – much better for TV/entertainment viewing and sound system. The kitchen is supplied with many gourmet items such as Margarita machine, Espresso machine, large Hobart mixer. We have tubs for soaking those sore muscles in both bathrooms. There is an iPod sound systems with docking stations in each bedroom. There are views of the ski run and pine trees from every room. Two king beds (most comparable 2 bedroom condos have one king and one queen).
Pick up your ski equipment from your own locker at the first floor elevator exit and you are just steps away from the gondola. After a great day of skiing drop your ski equipment off in your own Big Horn ski locker – just steps from the bottom of the ski run - and hop on the elevator to return to the condo to relax and review your day on the hill.
There are lots of other fun things to do in the evening as well:
Work out in the gym and soak in the hot tubs at the Big Horn spa
Watch your favorite entertainment on our 60” flat screen TV with BluRay DVD and Bose Sound
Play games, do jigsaw puzzles, read with our plentiful built-in lighting
Dine at one of our wonderful restaurants in the Village: Baxters, Mikuni, Rubikon, Cholocate Bar
Visit the quaint town of Truckee or the lake town of Kings Beach for additional dining options
Go to the ice rink for cocktails and s’mores
Actually be an ice skater on the ice rink
Watch or be a bungee jumper
Play in the snow
You get the idea
The parking is underground in the heated garage and includes complimentary luggage carts for easy hauling upstairs to the ski locker and condo. There is one parking space with additional parking in main area and in garage on “Space-Available” basis. Boat & RV parking is available through Northstar. There is a specific lot that is assigned to large vehicles, and a pre-arrival phone call is necessary.
For the non-skiers be sure to remember the snow-tubing at mid-mountain as well as the snow shoeing and cross country skiing. There is the candle-making shop where they also help you make and dress your own stuffed animals that is located right next to the door to the first floor entrance of our condo. Then there is the beading store where they also have classes in beading - and many shops from fashion to toys. Don’t forget the massage spa!!

My husband and I came here with our two kids (2.5 and 6 years old) for spring break. I've looked through many condos before deciding on this one and I picked this based on the excellent reviews it had. I must say this condo is everything everyone said it was and more. This is by far one of the best condos we've ever stayed at on our vacations. The entire place was beautifully done, up to date, clean, and so well equipped. There was even a booster seat and a pac n play for my little one. The location of the property was excellent. We literally did not have to leave North Star for the 4 days we were there. Everything was on site (skating rink, swimming pool, s'mores, restaurants, ski/snowboard, etc.). This is the most perfect place for a family of 4. The entire place was so cozy and homey, we loved it! Kathy was a pleasure to work with and she is so flexible and willing to make our stay a good one. We stayed here for 3 nights and my kids did not want to leave. We will definitely be returning every year.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children.

My wife and I with our 11 and 9 year children just returned from a week stay at Northstar . The unit is spectacular and fully loaded with every modern amenity and gadget. The location is as close as you can ever get to ski school and rentals, and has a full ski locker on the ground floor. Kathy, the owner is a dream to work with and promptly responded to my emails prior to our trip. The Northstar Village itself is beautiful and super family friendly and has plenty to do year round. My kids are already planning on returning next year. We ate most meals in the village which has many options to please everyone. We did have a day outside the village to go see Lake Tahoe and Truckee and otherwise spent the entire time in the village. My family went skiing, took a snowboard lesson, went tubing, and sledding all steps from the condo. The unit also has plenty of lighting and games, puzzles, books, etc for indoor sports as well. Did I also mention a Washer/Dryer??? It was great to come off the mountain and get our laundry done. We literally had a Perfect VacationRecommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My wife and I along with our two small children recently stayed at this condo and we were blown away. We travel often and have stayed at many different places throughout the country and this tops them all. From the luxurious bedding in both bedrooms, to the bose sound system, The owners thought of everything and were so easy to deal with. The condo is exactly as described and even better in person. Don't hesitate choosing to stay here, it is well worth it!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The majestic Sierra's. Beautiful Lake Tahoe. Quaint and adorable Northstar. Fabulous dining. Incredible shopping. Oh the Belgium waffles. Nearby Historical Truckee. Golfing. Rafting. And so much more. Oh yeah, and the best part is the lodging. It's like the comfort of home but at the highest level of luxury. I call it the Ahhhhhhh or Wow or as my children would state OMG effect. Stay here and you'll never go anywhere else. We can't wait until our next visit. Hmmm, winter or summer next time??Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This condo is our new favorite place to stay in Northstar! The owners have thought of everything and is very easy to work with -- I felt like I was renting the condo from a friend. The condo is clean, comfortable, well-maintained and had everything we needed and more! The top-floor Big Horn location can't be beat with its proximity to the gondola, kids ski school & restaurants. I would recommend this condo any day of the week! We are looking forward to coming back in February!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This home has been beautifully remodeled, with impeccable attention to detail. First class amenities throughout, from the granite counters and designer lighting features to the glorious bathrooms and comfy beds. Our family loved the short walk to the Village, and having access to the Northstar Property Owners recreation center which has a really nice family-friendly vibe. We also loved having the hiking trails right outside the front door. Kathy does everything to make your stay enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit. And, if you go in the summer, be sure to check out the Tahoe Star Tours -- a wonderful star gazing experience with a knowledgeable University of Nevada star guide!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We spent some time reading the descriptions posted by several owners trying to capture the attention of potential families looking to rent in the village... this unit caught our eyes immediately... It sounded so good, almost too good to be true... We arrived prepared to find a nice unit, and I must say we were blown away... Everything needed to enjoy a comfortable stay is there at the tip of your fingers... This is not the first time that we rented in the Village... but is the first time that we found that everything that was said about the property was the absolute truth... We had an splendid time skiing, and enjoyed the relaxing yet sophisticated environment of this amazing condo... Everything is first class!!! Dealing with the owners was a delight, from the first contact we encountered nothing but professionalism and attention to detail. From the quick responses to making sure that our stay was pleasant these owners do not overlook anything... We found a jewell and we will definitely come back. We highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a retreat just a few steps to everything that Northstar has to offer.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: Jim grew up in Southern California. Kathy grew up in Northern California. In 1978 when our children were two and three years old Kathy's parents (living in Santa Rosa) 'kidnapped' the children for some fun at Northstar. The next year we all went and have been going to Northstar ever since. In the summer we call it our family summer camp. We purchased our first condo on the Ski Trails in 1993 and our second in the Original Village in 1997. This year, spring of 2010, we were fortunate to acquire our New Village Condo. We love hosting guests and enjoy trying to make their stays memorable. We want each of them to love Northstar as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Northstar:
We have loved Northstar for over 30 years. We taught our children to ski here and are now teaching our grand children to ski here. Northstar is the most family friendly resort ever. Winter and Summer!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Unique Benefits of our Big Horn condo are: proximity to the lift and slopes, top floor with vaulted ceilings, 60' TV screen with BluRay with Bose surround sound and the great lighting that we built in so that we can play games, do jigsaw puzzles and read any time we want to. All lighting is on dimmers so that we can set any mood we want from romantic to party! The open space plan and high end leather furnishings add greatly to the creature comforts.
