We've owned Red Dog Ridge for six years. Named after our dogs- Reba and Zoe - our home has been our escape from the hectic city life. We've put years of TLC into Red Dog Ridge to make it our home away from home. With the goal to ski as much as possible, we bought our home in Holiday Acres - just 30 minutes from the most amazing powder in the country. We love it here and hope you will too!

A Ski Vacation to Wolf Creek

I've been on about 20 ski vacations, and this was certainly one of the most memorable. Red Dog Ridge was perfect for our group of 6. Everyone in the group felt like we'd stumbled upon a gem. The cabin is nestled deep into a neighborhood just south of Pagosa Springs for that secluded feeling. Everything in the house was clean and ready for our stay. There was a welcome booklet with plenty of information about the house, Pagosa Springs, and contact information. Paula was very accessible and gracious, answering any texts almost immediately. The view from the back porch is incredible, overlooking a calm valley of farmland and trees that goes for miles, with of course mountains in the background. The night sky was quiet and clear, and made for great stargazing. We cooked our own meals (and saved a lot of money instead over eating out most of the time), and enjoyed some hearty breakfasts before setting out to the slopes each morning. As a former ski-in ski-out vacationer, I was skeptical of the drive to the slopes (~30 minutes it turned out). However I ended up enjoying the beautiful mountain drive, and appreciated the prep time it gave us before hitting the powder. I was very pleased with the stay, and found nothing to complain about!

I recently had the privilege of staying at Red Dog Ridge with my father and 2 best friends as my dad recently returned from Afghanistan and this was our celibration!! I cant say enough about the cabin. It has everything we needed and so much more. The pictures just dont do justice for the actual views this home offers. I have a dog as well but was nervous to bring him with me on this trip as i wasnt sure of the accomidations he would get. Now that I have been here and seen the dog run, I will deffinitely be brining him next year! The beds were rediculously comfortable as well. A big plus in my book. And to really seal the deal was Paula. She made everything so convienient as was so easy to work with. All I can say is gotta love americans that love their Military. Thanks again Paula!!!!!

My friends and I try to make it to Wolf Creek every ski season...tons of snow, cheap lift tickets, and hardly any lines. The last two seasons, we have stayed at the wonderful Red Dog Ridge. The wrap-around porch offers amazing views of the morning sunrise and nearby San Juan mountains. The Holiday Acres community is very quiet, with a country living feel, but is only a few minutes from downtown Pagosa Springs. The kitchen is fully loaded, beds are all very comfortable, and the dining room table is perfect for a big game of poker. Red Dog Ridge has 3 full bathrooms, 3 very private bedrooms, 2 super-comfy pull-out couches, a river rock fireplace that extends from floor to ceiling, and a nice quiet office. It is always very clean and well decorated. I'll come back to this little slice of Heaven next year!

Our family stayed at Red Dog Ridge during the Christmas holidays. The home is cozy and well-appointed; the location is bucolic yet all activities are conveniently located; and Paula is gracious, accessible, and truly cares that her guests are comfortable in her lovely home. I recommend Red Dog Ridge to anyone looking for an ideal year-round getaway in the Pagosa Springs area.

My family spent 5 nights at Red Dog Ridge between Christmas and New Year's. The photos and descriptions are very accurate. The house is well maintained and the kitchen well supplied. I cooked all our meals here. The linens are top quality and beds comfortable. We appreciated that our dog was welcome and we didn't have to pay boarding costs. Quiet, secluded feel to the location yet it is close to everything. Our kids were snowboarding and loved the easy access to Wolf Creek Pass from the house. Paula and her team were very responsive to a concern we had and it was resolved quickly. Nice floor plan -- 2 living areas allowed kids to have their own space. Great views from the living room and deck. I'd love to come back in the summer just to sit in the rocking chair on the deck and soak up the view. I am recommending Red Dog Ridge to friends and YOU. We are looking forward to a return stay.

We stayed at Red Dog Lodge over Thanksgiving 2011 with our 2 teenage daughters and their 2 friends. The kitchen provided all we needed to cook great meals & desserts. It was nice to have 2 living areas with a TV in each. The fireplace was so warm at a flip of a switch. Loved the front porch & vast view. Also loved being able to park in an enclosed garage. We were thankful to have great snow on Wolf Creek Mountain & a warm cozy lodge to return to in the evening.

Red Dog Ridge is a warm, welcoming mountain cabin. The description and photos are very accurate, but there is really no way to accurately portray the stunning views. It is clean and well maintained with comfortable beds and a well supplied kitchen. Our dogs loved it and the dog run off the back porch is very convenient. It's extremely quiet and restful, and feels far from everything, yet Pagosa Springs is a short drive away. Thanks for a great stay!

Red Dog Ridge is a charming well-maintained house only twelve minutes away from the town of Pagosa Springs, yet the location is very private and has the feeling of being in the middle of a wilderness. The views are exceptional. Drinking your morning coffee on the large covered deck and watching the hummingbirds is a rare treat. The house is actually much more attractive than the website pictures and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. Every aspect of our rental experience was excellent. The July weather was cool and pleasant. We enjoyed exploring the West Fork near Wolf Creek Pass and the Rio Blanco. I highly recommend Red Dog Ridge and we look forward to our next visit.
