We went to Winter Park from Southeast Florida for a girl’s weekend over Labor Day. This bungalow was a true find! It had a roomy cottage atmosphere with large rooms, great appliances and two very nice patios. The entire home was spotless. We were very comfortable walking barefoot inside. The furnishings are attractive, clean and cozy. I slept in the back bedroom which had a Tempurpedic mattress and pillow, just like at home. The location is a comfortable walk from the shops and restaurants along Park Avenue. In addition, the lake surrounding Rollins College provided delightful scenery for long, powerful walks. Everything we wanted or needed was at our weekend home, including the essential items like wine glasses and corkscrews. The only down side to the entire weekend was when it came time to leave on Labor Day; back to the grind! We will definitely return; everything was perfect.

Our stay t was a delight. The bungalow is charmingly decorated, with a well- equipped and spacious kitchen. Both bedrooms have good mattresses. Park Ave shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance,as is the beautiful campus of Rollins College and adjacent Lake Virginia.

The home is attractive and well maintained. The back patio is a very nice, relaxing spot. You're right around the corner from Park Ave. so all those great restaurants, shops, bars, etc, are a stroll away. Lots within walking distance. The noise level for everything around didn't bother me except for the train which was a challenge to ignore in the middle of the night.

Owner response: Guest did ask prior about traffic noise etc and explained to him of the location but completely forgot to tell him about the train! (The train proximity though is mentioned in my VRBO listing). I understand this guest visits Orlando frequently but first time to Winter Park. Frequent visitors and locals know about train and don't even notice it, but now will, absolutely, inform all about the WP train before bookings.

We greatly enjoyed our three day stay at the "Florida Bungalow" and wished we could have stayed longer. The home was clean, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. We loved relaxing on the screened porches. The location was ideal. Everyday we walked to downtown Winter Park and browsed through the many unique shops and enjoyed a good meal at one of the many restaurants. The Saturday farmers` market was a fun experience. We visited each booth, had some delicious bakery goods and bought some fresh produce for our trip home We had such a great time that we plan to return to the bungalow for another visit

My husband and I stayed at this property in the end of November and beginning of December, 2011. We absolutely loved this cute bungalow and regretted having to leave after our sojourn in Winter Park was over. I checked out all of the other Winter Park rentals on VRBO and think that this one is the most ideally located. It is within easy walking distance to Rollins College and the shops and restaurants on Park Ave. It is also as neat as a pin and very well furnished. I was surprised by the first reviewers remark about the non-stop noise from college kids because the neighborhood seemed quiet to us. Yes, I did see some college students but they were well-mannered and friendly and I enjoyed watching them walk to school in the morning while I drank my cup of coffee on the front porch. I never heard ANY partying going on during the day or night. The train goes by a couple of times in the night but although I am a light sleeper it didn't bother me. After reading the previous reviews, I brought a sound machine with me for sleeping but never really needed it. I had no contact with Norma but my husband did and found her very friendly and professional. If you have never been to Winter Park before I highly recommend a visit to the fantastic Morse Museum which houses the largest collection of Tiffany art in the world. Happy Travels!

My stay at vrbo 322808 was wonderful. Norma has gone out of her way to furnish this home for guest. It was very clean and the area was beautiful. I loved walking the lake trail at the end of the street each afternoon. There was many places to eat that you can just walk to. I did hear a train go by a few times but it did not sound like it was right on top of you and it went by very slow so I did not find it disturbing at all. The entire area was very nostalgic. I plan to stay here again if I am ever in the area. Sharon S.

When the owner says "this is a lively area" this means loud noise area almost around the clock. Heavy traffic right outside your front door along with Train noise at all hours. This area is mostly collage kids renting run down old houses that they party in at all hours. Not a fun place to rent.

Owner response: These guests from Maine actually stayed 6 weeks! I have numerous glowing emails from the wife but did get an email regarding various complaints from the husband end of the first week. The accommodation rent was due. I told him to pay me then weekly, and at the end of the week AND only if they are happy. They then paid the rent weekly, never said a word further and even invited their friends to join them in their stay. With these reviews, they are not posted until 7 days later to give the homeowner a chance to contact the guests. I can only think at that point and time they wanted a accommodation discount and I chose not to do that. Or if they are truly are trying to warn future guests about things, that is fine, but do not know what is not in my accommodation description that is misleading, as they wrote. My listing clearly describes the area and its surroundings. There is absolutely no noise violations allowed in that area of any sort. However when many things are within walking distance as described, restaurants, train station, bars, then yes you are actually in a city, near streets where these are located, hence, an active area. I live there too when I am not traveling and would not have it any other way. I am sorry it was not a match for them.

We stayed at this comfortable and well-maintained bungalow for four weeks this spring and have already booked it for six weeks next year. It was perfect! We were happy to be so close to downtown Winter Park and its many unique shops and restaurants. The Sat. farmer's market, Morse Museum (with its one-of-a-kind Tiffany collection) and boat tour of area lakes are also within walking distance. We like to be active and found the surrounding area perfect for biking, running and long, peaceful walks. Next year we plan to take advantage of the cultural and athletic events sponsored by nearby Rollins College. Fabulous location. We were particularly appreciative of the attention we were given by the owner and property manager, and their genuine concern for our comfort. We felt at home from the moment we walked through the door, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

We had a fabulous stay at this Winter Park bungalow. Clean, cozy and AMAZING location. It was so nice to be able to wake up on Saturday morning and walk to the farmer's market and Park Avenue. Could not have asked for a better trip. Thanks so much, the house is perfect! :)

We will definitely stay here again. Great location and charming home with quality linens, furnishings and flatware (we'd like a set just like it). Norma was great to work with and very flexible with our "check out" time. I agree with all the other positive review comments. We were sorry to leave and hope to return soon.

Owner response: Hi Janet. Thank you for the nice review! Just want potential guests to know that you had a recent stay...in August 2011..not 2010 as per your write up. Cheers.

I stayed in this home for a week last year and I am looking foward to returning soon with my husband and daughter. I start each day with coffee and the newspaper on the cozy lanai where I plan my day's activities.... walking to great shops and restaurants, visiting the nearby farmer's market, golf. The place is immaculate, roomy with updated furnishings and fully equipped. It's perfect for my visits to son and daughter-in-law who live just a few blocks away. I could easily see myself escaping Ohio winters and staying in this home for weeks/months at a time....watch out kiddies!!!

Owner response: These guests were in-laws of a friend of mine, not paying guests, so take that into consideration when reading their review. However VRBO lets even the owners write up quotes from former guests, instead I invited my guests write their own review.
