Quaint Cottage Located in North Central Florida as part of a 10 Acre Horse Farm
This cottage is located on the back side of my 10 acre horse farm. It sits on 2 acres backing up to a state Park. It is slightly wooded adding to the ambiance of being back with nature. The cottage is newly remodeled. It has a family room/great room with a couch and chairs and a flat screen TV, opening into the kitchen with 20 ft of counter space. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. It has one bedroom with 2 single beds that can be pulled together. It also includes a brand new washer and dryer and as well as a separate bathroom with a walk-in shower. The cottage is very bright and charming.
I also offer accommodations for your horse/s. I have 4 pastures, a riding ring and two 12x12 box stalls available to rent out daily/weekly/monthly. How wonderful to travel with your horse and have it grazing in the pasture all visible from the cottage window. You can even park your trailer on the property.
The property is located in Alachua, just outside of Gainesville city limits. It is very close to Ocala(40 miles),the horse capital . We are 2 hours to the beaches in St. Augustine FL, 2.5 hours to Daytona Beach for Bike Week and 45 minutes to Cedar Key, FL. The cottage is 2 hours north of Orlando and 2.5 hours from Disney.
For local entertainment, you can go tubing on the Suwannee River, golfing at any of the numerous local courses, play tennis, attend Gator games, Gator Nationals or Gatorback. You can ride your horse or bicycle in the 600 acres San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park immediately behind the cottage. Gainesville and surrounding area is also great place to tour around on your motorcycle. Bikers are welcome!
The cottage has easy access to/from I-75, 10 minutes to the nearest entrance.

Loved it! Clean, peaceful, in beautiful setting with every amenity! Utilized every inch of the full county kitchen. Owners wonderful to work with and available for anything we may have needed. Security deposit returned very quickly! We will be returning to this lovely cottage when visiting with our son who is studying at University of Florida.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

What a nice setting and a great owner. I had a wonderful time at the cottage in February. It is in a perfect location for my needs and the cottage was perfect for me. Enjoyed the serene setting on the farm. I love the country, the animals, and the serenity of this cottage. The cottage is very clean, very well appointed, and quite comfortable. The listing on this cottage is perfect, pictures are exactly as the cottage is in person.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

I spent a week at the Alachua cottage at the end of January. I wanted a cheerful, quiet setting to relax and pursue some of my more solitary interests and that's just what I got. The setting was very peaceful and private and at the same time convenient to Gainesville. Every day when I sat outside in the sun to read, I was greeted by curious horses and a friendly burro. The cottage was clean, cozy and extremely well equipped and the owner was very responsive to any needs that I expressed.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Why the Owner Chose Gainesville:
My cottage was remolded to offer a nice place for my family to stay while visiting. Unfortunately it does not get used as often as I had hoped, so why not sure the beauty and peacefulness that the cottage offers to others. It is very accommodating for the horse community. I have 2 of my own horses and they have 10 acres to graze their hearts away. I love being up in this area. It is hilly and lots of farm land but very close to many other attractions and fun activities. If you don’t have horses and you have the need to visit North Central Florida, my cottage will provide the comforts of privacy. It is wonderful.
