Loreto house description

This is a custom home in beautiful Loreto Bay. One of the owners was a Project Architect with Loreto Bay Company, and went on to found Loreto Bay Design Group, who designed over 30 custom homes in the Founders neighborhood. The Founder's Neighborhood is the 'Belair' of the development and the lot was purchased at the first sales launch. Location, Location, Location!!

It is located 100 yards from the Beach (you can hear the surf rolling in), and about the same distance from the 1st Tee and the 9th Green of the stunning David Duval designed golf course. This house is designed as an oasis and a respite from the busy world. The great room (kitchen dining and living) are surrounded by an outer courtyard (with gorgeous heated, Mexican glass tile pool) and a beautifully designed inner courtyard, with lush landscaping and a fountain. The French doors in the Living Room open directly into the pool, which functions as a swim up wet bar! There are two bedrooms on the main floor, one with a King bed with it's own mini courtyard and fountain, and full ensuite and the other with an outdoor 'shower' courtyard. The upstairs bedroom also has a King bed and full ensuite with shower and soaker tub. Off the Living room there is a small den with desk and sofa bed. There is vonage phone service (free long distance) and wireless internet and fibre optic TV, with multiple channels. There are many, many upgrades to the house including piped gas for the kitchen range and upstairs BBQ and cooking centre (one of the few house in Loreto Bay with piped gas), upgraded kitchen cabinets with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, Bosch washer and dryer, built in 'whole house' water filtration for perfectly balanced, clean water, travertine floors, three fountains, a third floor viewing tower, a built in 'banco' under a pergola in the outer courtyard, and wonderful landscaping including a hybrid orange, lemon and grapefruit tree, guava and mango! There is a large second floor deck for lounging and the viewing tower for sunset drinks and fantastic views of the Sierra de la Giganta mountain range.

This house is paradise, and the introductory first year rental rates are an amazing deal!

About the owner: We are three families, two from Victoria BC and the other from Calgary, Alberta, who fell in love with Loreto Bay at the first sales launch. We are all still working so don't have the opportunity to get to Loreto as much as we would like, so we are delighted to share our piece of Paradise with you. A more romantic retreat cannot be found. From the Spanish Colonial Architecture which creates a seamless indoor/outdoor living experience, to the use of wonderful natural materials (Cantera stone, Travertine floors, Talavera tiles in the bathrooms, handpainted Mexican sinks in the bathrooms, the trickling of running water, the song birds attracted to the lush landscaping, a perfect spot to relax in an oasis of your own!

Why the Owner Chose Loreto:
We decided on Loreto Bay for many reasons, the most important four being' 1) The developer's dedication to sustainability, including small lot footprints, zero lotline courtyard houses, meandering 'streets' with no automobiles or vehicles with internal combustion engines allowed in the Villages, edible landscape, adobe (compressed earth block)walls and the Loreto Bay Foundation which gives back to the Town of Loreto for every lot sale. 2) A strong sense of community. The houses are designed so that the main floor living area and the courtyards are completely private, and the second floor roof decks are the 'front porch' of the house, where you can wave to your neighbor, and inevitably get invited over for cocktails. This is not the typical 'resort community' where you stay for 2 weeks without meeting anybody and go home, relaxed but somehow unsatisfied. 3) The town of Loreto. The town is over 300 years old and was the first capital of all the Californias. The Jesuits started a Mission back then and the town has never grown past about 9,000 people. The people are super friendly, there is no crime and there are at least 8 really good restaurants in town. 4) The Sea of Cortez is referred to by Jacques Cousteau as the world's aquarium and to say that there is abundant sea life is a huge understatement. A trip to the offshore islands will reveal this abundance. Whether it is Blue Whales and Dolphins or multi varieties of smaller fish to be caught and prepared for dinner, or Gray Whales on the other side of the peninsula who are birthing prior to heading North, there are amazing sights to see. The sea in front of our house has a gradual incline into deeper water with no undertow. It is a 10 minute walk along the beach to the Hotel where you can avail yourself of the workout facilities and have breakfast afterwards.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
This house is a true destination in itself! It has a wonderful Azul Blue tiled, heated pool, a covered lounging area overlooking the pool, several outdoor eating areas, including by the pool, on the second floor roof deck by the outdoor barbecue (with sink and counter), handsome Mexican furniture with big armoires in the bedrooms, a storage room for golfclubs and beach toys, super comfortable pillow mattress beds, state of the art appliances, purified water and Vonage phone system for direct access to the world. You can see forever from the viewing tower and if you need extra accommodation in addition to the 2 king beds, one queen bed, the sofa bed in the den, you can sleep on the banco in the outer courtyard or even in the viewing tower which has a roof over it.
