This apartment is very well situated between Eglise de Madeleine and Opera Garnier in Blvd Madeleine. The presentation is clean and the furnishings are of a high quality. The feeling about the apartment is that there is room to move and that it is spacious. It is a corner unit that presents a two street frontage and allows light to flow into the living spaces. The art deco decoration gives it special appeal. It represents very good value for money. Dealings with the owner, Sophie, could not have been better. She was very responsive and timely with emails and made a point of visiting and making personal contact while we were there. We rented for 5 days in May 2013. There is a good mini supermarket (Monop) right across the street from the apartment building that makes self catering a breeze. It can accommodate 4 people with the use of the sofa in the lounge but two people would be most comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed this place and we would strongly recommend it to others.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

This apartment was centrally located with Metro stops nearby. The living and dining rooms were quite spacious and daylight flooded through the windows. My daughter slept on the fold-out divan and found it quite comfortable. The bedroom also had plenty of room and storage, unlike many apartments in Paris. The main bathroom consisted of two sinks, storage space, linens and a shower and was much larger than most you will find in the city. Although the kitchen is small, it was well equipped with up-to-date appliances. Cable, wifi and iPod dock all worked well. The building security seemed appropriate was an unexpected bonus. if you are accustomed to little noise at night, the outside traffic may be bothersome at first. However, it was not a major issue. This was the only minor inconvenience we experienced. Best of all, Juihsiang (Sophie) met us at the apartment, showed us how to operate the appliances and answered our questions about the neighborhood, its shops, restaurants, etc. Overall, a spacious, clean, secure and comfortable apartment that we highly recommend.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.

This wonderful and spacious apartment provides a retreat in the heart of the greatest city in the world. It's so nice, after a day of sightseeing or wondering Parisian neighborhoods, to be able to come back to a place that you've made into your (temporary) home. I heartily recommend this apartment as a worthwhile alternative to the cramped Paris hotel room or the expensive hotel suite.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.

We were surprised at how much bigger the apartment was than we had expected from the photographs. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, well appointed, light and convenient. We were met by Sophie and spent five days at the apartment before returning to Australia. The apartment was particularly well placed with access to so much of the historic centre of Paris, the wonderful shopping, the supermarket opposite, the Metro over the road and around the corner. The apartment itself was very comfortable, with all the accessories required and set in an historic building that had been modernised and renovated. It contributed significantly to our enjoyment of our last days in Paris. We rented apartments throughout our eight week trip around Europe, and this was the best from the five apartments we used, all of which were very good.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

First of all, I'd like to say that the best part of renting this apartment is dealing with the owner, Sophie, who is lovely inside and out. The apartment itself is extremely comfortable and large, and there were no surprises when I arrived...the pictures are very accurate. The kitchen is small but functional, and has a large refrigerator/freezer, which is rare in Paris; since I was there for just over a month, the freezer came in very handy both for food storage and for ice, which I needed to nurse two swollen ankles! One small complaint, and one that could be easily rectified is that since there is no oven, a toaster oven or a better microwave that had a convect feature really would've been helpful. I could not heat up things like pizza or quiche because they get soggy in the micro, and my heated up breakfast croissants were always limp, until I learned to try to heat them on top of the toaster, which is tricky. Other than that, the apartment had everything one needed, the bed was comfortable, and the large TV with CNN and other English speaking channels, along with the phone and washer AND dryer, were conveniences you don't always get in a rental. My daughter spent two weeks sleeping on the sofa bed, and while she was ready to get back home to her own bed, as sofa beds go it's a pretty good one. And, I loved the building itself in that it is extremely secure, has a nice lobby (again, something you don't usually see in an apartment building, but exists because this was originally a hotel) with someone always on duty, and has not one, but two good sized elevators...ones you can actually fit people and luggage in. In terms of location, the apartment is really close to the metro at the Madeleine,a short walk to the one at the Opera, and an only slightly longer walk to Concorde, which for me, gives availability to the best metro lines in the city, a huge plus. Yes, there is some noise as others have mentioned, but with the windows closed it's fine, and there is a ceiling fan (which I've never seen before in Paris) in the bedroom if it's warm. Thanks, Sophie .....I'll always look back fondly at my stay at your apartment.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car.

This gem of an apartment is one of the most spacious one-bedroom apartments that we've ever rented in Paris. The floor to ceiling windows provide a light-filled living area not often found in Parisian rentals. Coded entry and 24-hour concierge service are added benefits. The location is very central with a host of nearby grocery, pharmacy, café and restaurant options, as well as Métro, bus and Vélib transportation. The owner was helpful and very responsive to our requests.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The apartment was infact better than what was described on the website. We have 2 kids and were delighted with the size of the unit. Upon entry of the building the lobby was appealing and we felt safe upon entry. The rooms were clean and well maintained. We felt like we were living in Paris. All the attractions are nearby; walk, train or taxi take your pick. Numerous restaurants and markets as soon as you exit the building. Get out there and explore! I do recommend this property.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is a nice roomy apt in a great location. Apt was clean, well maintained and had all the basics in the small kitchen. The owner was easy to deal with and very helpful. Photos are accurate, all and all a great place to stay. If I stayed again, which I definitely would, I would bring ear plugs as the street noise is significant. This is probably true for any apartment that has such a central location. Apt is in a safe building and has an elevator. Great beds and sheets too.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We are used to living in this building. This is by far the best apartment we lived in. It is quite large, very clean and well equiped. The location in Paris is ideal. Close to major interesting sites. The welcome and cleanliness is far above typical French customs. Very apeasing and friendly full time security. The only drawback is that it is a bit noisier than American standards, but not from typical Paris busy life we love. We intend to use it again next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car.

I loved this apartment. It was spacious, very clean, extremely comfortable and had everything one needed. The bathroom was huge as was the shower, which was extraordinary. Also an extra toilet room with a washbowl. There was a huge amount of storage space. The location was great - very central, with 3 Metro lines close as well as several bus lines. Many windows allowing a lot of light - every room except the toilet room had windows. The bedroom had double windows as well as room darkening shades. I plan to stay in this apartment next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: Hi, my name is Juihsiang from Taiwan married to a French. As a city girl, I absolutely love this apartment with an excellent location. And I am sure that you will love it as much as I do. Enjoy Paris!
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 9:
When we are back to Paris we will live in this apartment which is to us the best location in Paris. It has everything that we can possibly dream of at a walking distance : good restaurants and fine food (Lucas Carton, Hediard, Fauchon, Laduree), historical monuments (Madeleine, Opera, Vendome, Concorde), great shopping (Galeries Lafayette and Printemps), luxury brands (rue du Faubourg St Honore) and theatre (Edouard VII and Olympia). It is also a few steps away from river Seine and Le Louvre museum. Everything is a few steps away, including the bike rent 'Velib' !
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
As soon as you enter the apartment, you feel like it is designed like a suite of a 5 star hotel : it is spacious, it is equiped with luxury furniture and amenities, it has a nice solid wood parquet and above all it suits perfectly the Art Deco style of the building. The Art Deco style of the apartment includes the Steiner branded furniture, the lighting on the ceiling, up to interruptors, switches and chrome plated door handles !
