  I know Reykjavik very well, having lived there for 6 months a few years ago. Two of us decided to spend a week there in mid September, 2011. This spacious apartment is located in a wonderful neighborhood, close to shopping, restaurants and a small grocery store. As is the case in Iceland, the apartment was spotless and had all amenities (WiFi, washing machine, etc.). There are two spacious bedrooms, a dining room and another room tat could also be used as another bedroom. I would recommend this apartment for several reasons, among them the location, the spaciousness and the accommodating owner. Although we did not go to Iceland to watch TV, it would have been nice if the apartment had cable, as cable is very common for apartment rentals in Reykjavik. That being said, this apartment is great!

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

  Our family of 5 had a great experience with the rental of this apartment. We have never rented through VRBO before and were leary, but no longer. This is a wonderful apartment in a safe location. Close to downtown-easy walk. Lots of space for all of us, much better than squeezing into a hotel room, as well a providing a well equiped kitchen to help cut down travel costs. Hosts are wonderful, friendly people, offering advice when asked from what to see to where to eat when dining out. Was initially worried about on street parking, but it was not an issue, always space and safe. Had several questions regarding the rental before arriving. I always received a prompt reply to my emails. Could not have asked for better experience for our stay in Iceland. If anything, the photos in the listing do not do the propery justice.

  We (2 adults, 2 high-schoolers & 1 college student) thoroughly enjoyed our time at this wonderful apartment. Easy to find, quite street, super comfy beds with heavy down comforters, everything felt clean, kitchen supplied with all the small things one doesn’t want to buy for just a week. We could even find the house on some of the postcards of Reykjavik! Walking distance from the main city centre & all the tourist attractions as well as a good grocery store and mini-mart. Rognvaldur was away while we were there but his wife was quick to take care of any and all of our needs. This was our first time renting an apartment vs. hotels and it was nothing but a positive experience! Wonderful way to enjoy your vacation as a family (or group) instead of individual hotel rooms. Being able to cook our on breakfast and dinners was a huge $ saver & gave us time to discuss as a family our favs of the day or what we were looking forward to doing. Plenty of space to spread out and plan your Iceland adventures (internet nice and fast!) or to wind down with a book or a hand of cards. By the time we left it felt like "our" place. We miss it already...
