I am a graduate student, and my friends and I came up here for a weekend during spring break. It was great to get away from the city and from schoolwork. That location was nice and accessible for hiking, and the cabin was perfect (lots of amenities, space, and privacy). We had a great time!

The owner was friendly and very accommodating (he turned on the power, etc. before we arrived). The cabin was spacious and very comfortable. It felt like being at home! If we forgot something, it seemed as if that was not a problem—we made do with what was available. It was convenient to what we wanted to explore, so it made a perfect home base. We would definitely consider renting this cabin again and would highly recommend it to others. Thank you for making this available to people like us who were looking for something a little different for a family vacation for five adults! P. S. We enjoyed watching three to four bluejays enjoy their treats near the driveway.

We had a great time! The was not only beautiful but very clean and the location was very serene. We enjoyed our coffee and wine on the front porch as we watched the local wildlife. The cabin easily accommodates large families. We had eight in our party (two families). The kids enjoyed the location and to their delight they/we could access Netflix. The owners were gracious to leave DVD's, books, playing card and info pertaining to the surrounding area. The location is perfect for trekking to the Springs, Caldera, Los Alamos, etc.. We were surprised and pleased to find the kitchen well stocked. It has a crock pot, electric skillet, cookie sheets, coffee maker and grinder, and a mircrowave. There are plenty of dishes and utensils. I never had to pull mine utensils out, with the exception of a rolling pin. We were also delighted to find that there was a few itmes left in the cupboards to use, such a flour, sugar and some spice. This can be very handy if your forgot some items. The location of the cabin is on a slight hill, so a 4-wheel drive is helpful! I was able to get up the driveway without 4-wheel drive in a Toyota SUV. I had to give is some gas to climb the hill, but GO STRAIGHT UP! Do not try the other entrance without 4-wheel drive you may get stuck! For sleeping accomodations there is a king size bed that was very comfortable! One room holds a double bed. The other room has bunk beds (3 beds), and on the loft their is a single bed. There is also a computer on the loft. We brought our laptops and had no problems accessing the internet. We had an awesome stay and would like to thank the Foott family for opening their vacation home to us for our use! Heath Foott was great about answering any questions we had. We would definitely stay their again! Two thumbs up!!!! The Sanchez's and the Rosario's

We had the greatest time! The home is clean and well maintained. The weather was perfect, we didn't want to leave. We loved watching the humming birds on the porch while drinking our coffee. We can't wait to go back. And we won't forget to mention that the owner is friendly and willing to answer any crazy question we had.  Not a far drive from fishing and hiking, enjoyed every moment. The pictures discribe the cabin perfectly! The Jaramillo's

It was aswome, the best get away ever. We still can't stop talking about it. It's close to all the cliff jumping spots and alot more. That's the place my family and I will always want to go. Beautiful times to remember out there, and if God is willing only more to come. Thanks n God bless. The G-Family.

Our vacation was great with the home away rental. Everything Was just the way it was described. Plenty of space for the eight of us. The Kitchen was well equipped. View from porch awesome. Our owner very friendly and willing to answer questions ahead of time. We found fish hatchery for the kids to fish and took road excursion to hot springs. Having a suv or truck would be helpful because there are plenty of up and down roads. I would definitely consider usiing this house again and home away rentals.

I had a wonderful time in this cabin. Beautiful views and lots of wildlife around -- I saw a coyote one morning, and two giant elk right down the road. Very comfortable and the house and property are well cared for. Quiet and peaceful. I'll stay here again.

This hidden cabin near the national forest is a true treasure to behold. It is very nicely sized for a family (could have easily held more people). We had room to breathe even when all inside, unlike so many other vacation rentals where you are on top of each other. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook all your own meals, the table was huge, everything inside was spotless. There is even a washer and dryer so no need to worry if the kids find a good dirty spot to play in. The wood heater worked great and really helped warm the place on the chilly nights. We had a truly delightful time hiking up and down the roads, looking at the views from the porch and just relaxing in nature. Come on up and enjoy a great time if you love the outdoors. We might just come back another time, it was that great. The Brinsons

Beautiful, comfortable, spacious, and quiet. Beautiful view from every directions. Well insulated. Master bedroom has a king bed. The loft has a bed and computer station. 2nd bedroom has a full bed. The 3rd has awesome 3 stacked bunk beds w/a T.V./DVD player. The kitchen is long and narrow. It has a big laundry room. Huge table that seats 8. A HUGE, fun bean bag type sac in the living room. Even in the snow the limited walks we took were very nice. There is a little store about 8 miles away. We will definitely be back.

The listing very accurately describes the property. We were impressed by the beautiful wooden interior, the view from the porch, and the coziness of the cabin. In fact, it felt pretty luxurious without losing any of its charm. The owner was extremely helpful. He promptly answered my many questions about the property, the weather and driving conditions. I would definitely recommend this cabin to friends and family. When in Jemez Springs we love taking advantage of the hotsprings at the historic bath house. The chile rellenos at Los Ojos Bar and Saloon (across the street from the bath house)are some of the best I have had.

My son and I had an elk hunt at the Valles Caldera. This cabin was much more than what we needed and only 15 minutes from the Valles Caldera gate. I would highly recommend this to fello hunters and/or families looking for a nice get-away location.

We had such a great time there. The porch is just to die for. We didn't even leave Saturday, just hung out and I photographed things from the porch, cooked and read. I needed to make a brown roux for this cajun crab and andouille stew, and had forgotten flour, sure enough you guys had some. Totally user friendly house. I was also really happy that you had a nice set of speakers with a 1/8 jack just waiting for our itunes. Many places don't have that. I can't begin to list how wonderful all the amenities were, including all the sweaters waiting for us as the chilly nights are in. We forgot and brought only t-shirts. Really tho the kitchen was so well stocked. Nice cutting boards, cutlery. A total joy that place. We can't wait to go back. Thanks! PS. Give Grace a pet for us. Sweet puppy. She didn't want to go home by the time the boys got finished hanging out with her.

We stayed just 2 nights in August, having come with our daughters family from Albuquerque for a change of scenery. Could not believe the quietness! The porch sits 1/2 way up the tall pine trees. I could have sat there and drank coffee (or wine) all day. The hummingbirds were amazing (we purchased one when we got back home to PA) The house meets every need, and is comfortable for sure. The kitchen is well stocked with every kind of pan, glass, utensil or dish you may need. The hiking was challanging but well worth the trip. We went to Jemez Springs Bath House and Giggling Springs, both very nice and equally different format. Small country store for any of your needs about 6 miles from cabin on way back to Jemez. Beautiful countryside, winding roads and peaceful surroundings. The fires took a terrible toll on that area, only realized how badly seeing it in person. What a challange to fight those fires, brave men & women. Don't miss this place its a gift to experience! Bring your favorite DVD's of Videos as there is not cable TV

Even though we were unable to use the cabin due to the Las Conchas fire, I wanted to post comments on how great the owner is to work with. He answered our many questions promptly, kept us informed of the fire situation, and we will definitely try again to make it to the Jemez another time and stay at this cabin. Thank you!

My writing group spent the weekend here. It was exactly what we wanted - beautiful, inspiring views, trees, quiet, good energy, clean and comfortable cabin with enough room for us to spread out in our own corners yet come together at the large dining table. We were out in the woods without roughing it! We especially enjoyed sitting out on the porch. The ceiling fans helped keep it cool inside, not that it was very hot. The cabin has plenty of windows to bring in the fresh air. It was great to have the wireless internet access and convenient to have a full bath upstairs and another downstairs. When my young daughter came on the last day, she was excited to explore the cabin with its triple bunk, loft, and huge bean bag! I would only not bring anyone with trouble climbing stairs since there are a lot of steps to get to the front door as you can see in the winter photo. This is much nicer and larger than what I normally think of as a "cabin." Also, the owner was great about answering questions and very responsive - no problems whatsoever. I highly recommend this rental and hope to stay there again. Thank you for sharing your cabin with the rest of us!

We just had the most wonderful experience at this cabin! The owner was so accommodating and nice, we literally called last minute and he agreed to let our family head up with 4 hours notice! We went up for a weekend and were blessed with the sight of a Momma bear and her cubs, beautiful sunsets, and a nice dusting of snow. The cabin was very cozy and more room then we could have ever used. The kids fell in love with it. We have definitely found a good place to stay in the Jemez.

but that was partly because of the snowfall that preceded our arrival. we rolled up in a 2 wheel drive and had to abandon our ride at the bottom of a steep snow covered incline. A neighbour kindly let is throw all our crap into the back of his pickup and dropped us off at the front door. Subsequent trips to and from the car were achieved by a one mile hike through the snow which actually turned out to be a lot of fun and something we would have otherwise missed if we had a 4 wheel drive. Each time tt was back to nature as we slipped and slid our way up the hill, stopping to appreciate the absolute silence (aside from occasional crazed dog barking somewhere in the distance) and uninterrupted view of the stars. twenty minutes later it was goodbye nature and hello luxurious living with flat screen tv, well equipped kitchen and doubling glazing to enjoy the scenery from behind a glass of wine. if you can get it, four wheel drive in winter is probably a good idea because after dragging our luggage through the snow (it was downhill all the way so not particularly difficult) we couldn't get the rental back on to the highway and had to wait for the plough to come through to clear the road. What was particularly good during this "experience" was teh number of locals who stopped to see whether they could help. would i go back? definitely.

My husband and I recently stayed at this wonderful cabin. We couldn't have asked for more. The accommodations were perfect. It had a cozy wood burning stove and the views from the porch were breath taking. There were forest roads and trails almost outside the door. We hiked for hours and never saw a soul. We would definitely rent again.

We live in Albuquerque and took my parents and my sister and her family to stay in the cabin. It was a wonderful weekend get-a-way. Some of us went on hikes during the day and some went fishing at nearby Fenton Lake (some even stayed and enjoyed the quiet). The place was easy to find, comfortable and very well-maintained. We had a cozy fire and played games. The owners are very nice and easy to get in touch with. I would recommend this cabin to anyone coming from out of town or just needing a close weekend get-a-way.
