The village of Entrecasteaux has been a favorite of ours since our first encounter with it in 1996. It is nestled in a little valley along the River Bresque in the center of the Var. A town with about 863 inhabitants, it is full of charming, winding streets and a fine restaurant.
Our home is located in the center of the village near the Monument to the WWI Soldiers and the main fountain. It is a very unique and charming home, built about 300 years ago as part of the Chateau. It has a beautiful view of the garden designed by leNotre. Watching the village come to life in the morning or going out for a run through the town or on one of the roads leading to another village are wonderful ways to start the day. A walk across the Place du Souvenir to the boulangerie for fresh croisants or pain du chocolate in the morning makes that freshly brewed french coffee in the kitchen even more tasty. Rent a bike for the week and go out to explore the beautiful scenery of vineyards, olive groves and fields. Nearby villages can be easily reached by bike within 25 minutes. The hills are not too hard, and the roads are beautiful for biking. It is almost like being on the Tour de France.

The many fine restaurants within 20-minutes drive make every day exciting. The region is also filled with vineyards, and many fine producers of reasonably priced, elegant wines. The rose wines in the summer offer sublime taste and cool refreshment. Try them. The street markets for food, antiques (brocante)and other goods are there almost of every day of the week for your exploration. In addition, many near-by villages have specialty shops that are a joy to explore.
Hiking and walking in parks to a waterfall, or a secluded canyon or a hilltop castle with a spectacular view fill the days with memories, and the digital camera's storage capacity.

- Deck/Patio: The terrace in the front of the main entry to the home is a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. A terrace table and four chairs are available for the terrace, in addition to the dining table in the rez de chausse.

- Monument View: The home is adjacent to the Chateau d'Entrecasteaux, in the center of the village. The play of life in rural France unfolds in front of you every day.
