We stayed in this casita a couple of nights to break up our drive home after a week in Southern California. The only problem was we should have planned more time in Tucson. The casita was perfect for us. It was with in walking distance to interesting neighborhoods with restaurants and shops. The casita was very comfortable and clean and had everything you could possibly need while on vacation. Joanne (the owner) was very helpful, she provided a lot of info about Tucson both verbally and with brochures and even had snacks laid out for us when we arrived. We plan to go back and spend more time in Tucson and hopefully this place will be available when we do. We would recommend this rental to our friends. My husband and I stayed at Mi Casita for two nights on October. We arrived late one evening via Phoenix after flying in from San Diego after a two week cruise. Joanne had emailed directions, but we got confused. She was very nice about setting us straight and guiding us, even though it was after 10:30 pm. Our only negative experience there was getting a bit lost that first night. The casita is wonderful, very spacious and a great renovation that combined modern touches with the old. The tile work and wood floors are beautiful. The washing machine was great for doing all our laundry from the cruise. We did laundry the first night and early the next morning. We're from the northeast, so we missed the suggestion to dry clothes on the clothesline in the desert air (next time). Joanne provides some breakfast items, and was so, so kind to buy us the Smart Ones frozen breakfast sandwiches that we eat. Just perfect! Our stay was short, so we really didn't have time to prepare meals in the kitchen and on the grill or to enjoy the patio areas. Joanne was a lovely host, and Mi Casita was a great place to stay while exploring Tucson.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

First off, I used to live in Tucson and loved Armory Park, where Mi Casita is locate; so I was going to an area I appreciated. My initial contact via email with Joanne was very positve. She projected charm and intelligence, her rates were great, and she answered the many questions I had with speed and grace. The little house itself is not only adorable and well made, it is also a well thought-out place. There are a thousand little touches--a key and dog leash rack by the door; a book showing the Casita's building process--and a thousand "big" touches--plenty of outdoor tables and chairs (enough for a good party!); an indoor kitchen that's fully functional, clean and stylish; a modern, immaculate bathroom; a quiet, comfortable bedrooom; a sweet little sitting area--that make this place special. Joanne was personable and helpful while my dog, Lucy, and I were there. She gives you space if you want, but I was glad to have her help. I don't think it gets any better than this, and I plan to stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Mi Casita is easy to find, but it blends in completely with its old Tucson neighborhood, offering guests a charming anonymity, an accessible but secretive retreat, a sweet enclosure of quiet behind its sheltering fence. The house is small but comfortable, functional and inviting. The hand of the artist-owner is pleasingly evident in appointments, art and color choices blending easily with rustic modernity and occasional whimsy. The bathroom has a commodious walk-in shower and plenty of storage; the kitchen is stocked with all the gear you need if you decide to forgo Tucson's restaurant scene, and easy to use. The bed is comfortable, and everything is clean. However, among Mi Casita's best features are the small tables and chairs that are placed on three sides of the house, affording comfortable courtyard seating in shade or sun at any time of the day. It's this kind of thoughtful touch--along with neighborly hospitality--that makes the property a great year-round base for exploring the Tucson area.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Mi Casita provided us a wonderful and very private home base for a busy 3 days. Joanne was the most gracious of hosts and provided everything we needed. And we got the extra added bonus of seeing how the adobe cottage we were in had been restored - through pictures and watching the restoration process of the cottage next to Mi Casita. If you want privacy and an extremely helpful host, you can't do better than Mi Casita.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

Mi Casita is a very special, precious find! The location is just perfect to explore Tucson. We stayed two weeks and would have liked to stay longer, we will go back. Tucson is a very "foodie" city, so if you are into that, don't miss the farmers markets and be sure to pick up a listing of "The Tucson Originals" This is a group of chefs that believe if "farm to table" and sustainable food. One of the most special things about Mi Casita is the owner Joanne. She will let you want for nothing! She is fun to ask questions of and just to visit with. We will always look forward to our stays in Tucson at Mi Casita. Donna & Ron and our babies, Presley and Bentley.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5

Mi Casita was AWESOME! My wife and I honeymooned in Tucson before going to the Grand Canyon and staying at the Casita made our time that much more enjoyable. Joanne is a wonderful host. She provided us with a list of attractions, grocery stores, markets, and nearby restaurants (you must go check out the Barrio Brewery on 16th!). She got us an extra bike and even got it repaired when the tire popped that day. She got bagels for us the first day, along with milk, and, when we walked in, a fully stocked kitchen greeted us! The neighborhood is older and quite lovely. It is quiet and peaceful (we were there over New Years and didn't hear that many fireworks). The house itself blocks out noise really well. We could not have picked a better place to stay and will definitely be booking again if we return to Tucson area.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a charming casita located 5 minutes from the heart of downtown Tucson. The photos of the casita were accurate. The location was secure and off street parking a real plus. The casita was immaculate. The owner couldn't have been nicer. The owner was helpful and had many suggestions for tourists regarding restaurants and sights. On a selfish note, we would lover to keep this a secret. Great place for over 55 age group.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We stayed at Casita for a couple weeks while attending a seminar at U of A, a five-minute car drive away. Casita offers all of the comforts of home - clean, nicely appointed, lacking nothing. And Joanne was a wonderful landlord, always thinking of ways to make our stay (and that of future guests) more comfortable.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our five weeks at Mi Casita could not have been more enjoyable! Our gracious hostess provided everything and more that we would need. We enjoyed the patio, the lovely yard and the security of the property. The home and property were beautifully maintained. The location is ideal for any activity, close to downtown, but far enough away for peace and quiet. We hope to make this an annual vacation.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This small, but well equipped vacation rental is ideal for two people who want to explore all the beautiful city of Tucson has to offer. It's also a lovely spot to stay home to cook dinner or barbeque on the patio. This is a new vrbo listing and the owner, Joanne is striving to provide top rate accommodation at an affordable price. Joanne also went out of her way to help us with information and directions and was quick to respond to any requests. She provided enough groceries to be able to cook some nice breakfasts - and did I mention a nice big shower and excellent laundry facilities?Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We were in town for work at the University of Arizona campus. A very quick 2 miles away, this Casita couldn't have been more perfect. Very clean, private, and secure with all the amenities of home. The decor was very charming and we thoroughly enjoyed using the outdoor gas grill. The landlord was extremely friendly and a joy to deal with. If we return to Tucson, we will look no further for accommodations.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners.
