  We stayed in Condo #1 and we loved it. Kim the lady that helped us book it was very nice and very helpful. The condo was clean and offered everything that we needed for our week long stay. The beds were very comfortable. The view from the balcony was beatiful and the location was perfect. This condo is perfect for families as it's just a few minutes walk to the beach and the pool was very nice and well maintained. Even better we were allowed to bring our pet which not many other condos offered. We'll be coming back to stay here again for sure.

  The owner provided valuable information prior to our arrival, from where to pick up provisions to where to find the best food. The owner also responded to all inquiries quickly and made communications friendly and thorough. I can't speak for other times of the year, but during our mid-April visit, the complex and surroundings were very quiet and peaceful. We had no competition for the pool and had the beach mostly to ourselves as well. There were just two of us and we chose the upstairs loft for our sleeping quarters, where the sky light allowed us to enjoy the lightening storm during the night. Our other favorite feature of the condo was the deck; it being April we appreciated the sun shining on us and the deck is perfectly situated to provide as much of that as possible. Also, from the deck, you are facing the dunes and can view the pool and the lagoon. The Watertown restaurant served the prettiest and plumpest raw oysters I've ever experienced. And, our mouths are still watering when we think of the stuffed flounder we had there. We found this Matagorda Dunes condo to be a great place for our enjoyment of beach walks, quiet, and good food.

  We booked last minute and had a great stay. The condo was clean and well organized when we arrived. The beach is pretty close - about a 5-10min walk depending on how much beach gear you are carrying. It was our first time to Matagorda beach - and we were really impressed. The spoke with the owner before arriving and they were very nice. We were travelling with a baby and the owners made sure to have a pack-play and clean bedding available when we arrived. Our only slight negative is that we couldn't find an ice machine on the premises.

  This ended up being the perfect spring break destination for our small family. The beaches were clean and there were no spring break crowds. The condo is only minutes walk from the dunes. The property itself was clean, well-equipped, and quiet. There was plenty of privacy for our family of four. We found the owners to be delightful. There is a property manager of sorts at the pool who is a bit cranky, and we were disappointed when we first arrived and found the pool to be closed for repairs. After a day or so, the pool was reopened. If you enjoy fishing or birding, this is a perfect retreat.

  Recommended for: Families with young children.

  This is our third year in a row to rent Condos 1 and 2. We bring our children and grandchildren and a friend. We like the relaxed and safe feeling the gated area offers. We love sitting on the deck in the a.m. and p.m. and have coffee and look out over the pool. We feed the seagulls from the deck and watch the turtles below in the lagoon. Flocks of pelicans fly overhead several times a day. The beach is clean and natural, complete with shells for collecting. There is good fishing nearby.The condos have lots of room and comfortable furnishings and a full kitchen. We also use the grills that are furnished with each condo. There is lots of privacy from the other condos.We have found everything we could need in the condos and particularly like renting ajoining ones.

  Our family stayed in Condo 2 last August and had a great time! We loved the property, especially the pool! We also liked that we could bring our dogs with us, which was very convenient for all of us. We will definitely be going back and hopefully starting a tradition of bringing our family here.

  5 ladies set out from the frozen tundra of Minnesota for a Girls Retreat. We wanted a quiet place where we could cook our own meals and just relax. We rented condo 2 and fell in love with Matagorda. We got fresh fish and shrimp to grill from Bubbas (best shrimp ever!!), we walked along the beach several times a day, we hunted for the perfect shells for our kids, we sat on the deck and soaked up the sun while sipping wine, and we laughed a lot. All in all, it was everything we needed! I WILL be bringing my son and husband down to experience Matagorda!! LOVE IT!

  We stayed in condo 2 for 3 nights, and all had a great time. The condo was very clean and the pool was wonderful. We plan on coming back next year.

  We had an awesome vacation at Matagorda. The accomodations were just as described. The weather was perfect and no mosquitos! A short walk or drive to the beach - my favorite place! Our favorite restaurant was Waterfront at the harbor. Palacioius Mexican Restaurant was worth the drive. K-2 Steakhouse in Bay City was very good. Very quiet and relaxing...just what we wanted.
