Hi Mary and Tim, Just wanted to shoot you and your daughters a quick thanks for sharing your Crestone place with us. We loved it. Left the check for the third night on the table; didn't want to leave cash because we weren't sure about all who may roam through before you or your agent goes in. We've rented about a half dozen cabins in Crestone over the years. This was hands-down our favorite. We appreciated the fenced-in back yard so we didn't have to worry about coyotes carrying off one of the girls. We liked it that the place wasn't stripped down as are many rentals, that you left some personality (and dishes, etc.) there. Appreciated the ample supply of towels. Loved the "tower" with that ominous view of The Peaks and The Valley. (Yes, I did look for UFO's. I saw one in the early 70's. Unfortunately, I'm serious!) Admired the amazing energy efficiency of the place, it would still be warm in the morning throughout the house from the previous night's fire when it was very cold outside. Loved the warm red lights in the kitchen, made for elegant dinners. Was happy that the firewood actually burned! Loved the shower in the old claw-footed bath-tub. We even came to bond with "Trashy"--the dog who barked from the trash can. Overall, it was a really fabulous experience for us, one which we will remember forever. Hopefully you'll consider renting to us again someday. Please feel free to share our words with anyone who might be interested, or post as relevant. Really, the comfort of your place can't be over-stated, and the photos, yours and our own, don't do it justice. You just have to visit the place to fully absorb the positive energy. Thanks again. Mary, Willow Creek was splendid. At our arrival the house was fresh and clean. The circular window in the door and the rounded edges around the windows made me think of a little hobbit home; cozy and inviting. The Cupola was lovely. The house lit up with glory in the rising morning sun. The nearby creek whispered, "shhhhhh" all night long. The longer I was there, the more I wanted to stay, and the more I felt myself growing quiet inside. Thank you so much for making such an experience possible. We had a chance to meet Joy. She seems to be both a hearty and kind soul. She takes her work of keeping Willow Creek clean and beautiful seriously. I know Naomi and I would love to come back again someday. With gratitude, MiriamDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Hi Mary, We absolutely loved it. The house was beautiful, especially the little bedroom on the very top. I woke up at 5 AM and caught the moon setting and then watched the sun rise. It was more beautiful than I can describe, as I am sure you know! Crestone was a really neat community. We took a great horse ride with Baca Grande Stables. We wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for letting us stay. JessicaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Hi Mary, We really enjoyed our stay at the Willow Creek Retreat House. We loved the house and surroundings. It was marvelous to go out in the morning and hear the birds singing and walk around the garden. We felt completely at home. It was also wonderful to have a washing machine, real bathtub, and TV. There was a sudden hailstorm one late afternoon - with really big hailstones - and it lasted nearly an hour; we climbed up into the cupola to watch. I'm hoping to build a straw bale house, so it was great to experience one. Although the temperature dropped at night, we never needed additional heat. And in the hot daytime, the house was a cool refuge. The bedroom was very nice to sleep in, with a nice firm mattress and a breeze coming through the windows. It was also nice to know that we could call Joy if needed. I would definitely come back - would love to bring my whole family. Thanks, LindaDid you find this review helpful? Thanks for your note. We absolutely loved our stay at the Willowcreek Retreat House - so much so that we're already thinking about how we might spend some extended time there sometime in the coming year (we're both academics and it would be a wonderful place to write for a few weeks). Crestone is a fascinating place and we were very reluctant to leave. Your home is clearly a work of love and creativity and we very much appreciated the energy of the space and the surroundings.
