We stayed at this chalet last year for our anniversary, and loved it so much that we came back again this year. This time I had a girls' retreat the first night of the stay, and we had a great time. The weather was cold and rainy, but we had fun fixing & eating too much food, and sharing laughs and stories in front of the fire. One friend slept on the living room couch & said it was quite comfy, while the other slept in the loft & slept later than I think she has in years! The next day, my friends went home & my husband joined me. Just like last year, we enjoyed the sublime bed/bedding, the Jacuzzi tub and the gorgeous surroundings. We used the grill and the well appointed kitchen. Our dogs loved walks in the woods and sitting on the deck, watching birds. We saw 4 young deer playing on our way to the chalet, and wild turkeys on the way out. LOVE this elegantly decorated chalet. We already have this booked again (along with the chalet across the road) for 5 days in late June. And Sarah is a great host...there was a flooded road on the way to the chalet and she was kind of enough to stay on the phone with me while she guided me on an alternate route. Counting the days until our return...everything is just slower & more peaceful at Innsbrook.

What a relaxing getaway.... The chalet is just as I would have decorated it...so many thoughtful touches...from the soothing color scheme to the bed linens; the cool fridge and sun room, fireplace and loft retreat....it was so quiet. Sarah was in communication from the time I had questions until the final instructions and even when we had some TV trouble, she was quick to help out all very professional and easy. We played alot of golf...very easy and close and how wonderful each day to come back to 1716 to relax, sit on the deck, grill our dinner, listen to jazz on Pandora and fall into the cozy bed in the quiet woods. Thanks for perfect anniversary break, we were really able to wind down, shut down and forget the craziness of our lives for three blissful nights.

Much needed getaway!

We stayed for two nights and didn't want to leave! The cottage was immaculately clean and well decorated...it was HEAVEN! We were able to barbecue out on the grill, drive to nearby Augusta and tour some of the wineries/brewery, play Monopoly (the upstairs has some board games!), watch some movies...I had forgotten what it was like to just relax with no kids! We are new parents in our late twenties and we needed a weekend getaway- would highly recommend this place! My only complaint was that some of the windows (just in the main room and kitchen) didn't have shades- while the cottage is pretty secluded, I was a little paranoid at night feeling like I was being watched and that the people driving past the cottage could see right into the cottage.

My husband and I booked this cozy getaway for our first wedding anniversary - and were delighted to find this perfect blend of rustic and posh in such close proximity to St. Louis! Sarah (the owner) is the best hostess - and you can tell she thought of everything to maximize your comfort from the moment you set foot in the chalet. We cozied by the fire, saw beautiful birds, cooked and even ventured out to the nearby Cedar Lake Cellars winery. Next time we come, we're going to bring some friends - there would have been plenty of space for another couple! Don't look any further if you're a couple or even a small family looking to escape - Chalet 1716 is the place!

My girlfriend and I were looking for a romantic weekend escape from St. Louis, and boy did we find it. I travel a lot, so did not want to get on a plane for our escape, convenience was key. Chalet 1716 was perfect. The Chalet was nestled in the woods, a beautiful backdrop – we want to go back again later in the fall sometime when the leaves have turned. The Chalet was decorated perfectly. We hiked twice a day, and saw lots of wildlife: deer, turkeys, birds (including a Crane), rabbits, squirrels, turtles, chipmunks, and thankfully did not see other wildlife: snakes! We ate at the Innsbrook restaurant one night, the food was very good. We watched movies, read and had fires both nights. Also, the owner Sarah was very helpful and flexible, she even let my girlfriend bring her golden retriever. We definitely plan to book Chalet 1716 again.

A Wonderful Romantic Getaway

My boyfriend and I now refer to this as our "Love Nest"... inviting decor, jacuzzi, beautifully appointed cozy king size bed, real candles, broad choice of music (satellite), very private... everything needed or wanted for a wonderful romantic getaway. We really enjoyed the view of the surrounding lush, green woods through the enormous floor to ceiling windows, as well....therapeutic in its beauty. I enjoy cooking as a hobby, and I was extremely pleased with the quality of the kitchen utensils and dishes.

My wife and I had a FANTASTIC time at the chalet! Our lives in St. Louis are frantic and our work hours are extremely long, so this chalet provided the perfect place for us to get away and enjoy life together for the weekend. The amenities at the chalet let us enjoy all the couples activities (cooking together, enjoying a glass of wine on the porch, watching movies in front of a fire, jogging & biking together) that we miss in the city. The property was exactly as described, and we wouldn't change a thing. Sarah (the owner) was extremely helpful in arranging our visit, and she provided a wealth of information on the property and the Innsbrook community. We can't wait until our visit!

A perfect retreat!

My husband and I booked this chalet to celebrate our 15th anniversary. It couldn't have been more perfect. The idyllic, quiet setting and the gorgeously decorated chalet were conducive to a relaxing, laid-back pampered getaway. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the mattress and bedding were sublime. Honestly, I wouldn't have changed a thing. The only thing I didn't like was that we had to leave. :) We will definitely be back again and again.

Each year for our anniversary, I pick a surprise location within the state to go and celebrate for the weekend. I must say, I've picked some pretty incredible places over the years. This year was no exception. Chalet 1716 was incredible! First, Sarah (the owner) was so easy to work with and so accommodating! When we arrived at the chalet, we were really taken back by the beauty of the surroundings and the incredible chalet itself. As wonderful as the photos provided are, you really can't fully appreciate how truly amazing this place is until you experience it! No detail has been overlooked. It's cozy, romantic, decorated with class and the amenities are abundant. I cooked all our meals in the kitchen and on the grill out on the beautiful deck, made a roaring fire each night in the fireplace, we watched movies on the impressive entertainment system, took advantage of the wonderful jacuzzi bath and the list goes on. I can't recommend this property highly enough. This is definitely a hideaway we'll return to again and again!

This will be our 2nd time we have stay at chalet 1716, once last year for our 20 anniversary and then just recently as a getaway. The place is very peaceful, well maintained, and the bed is just awesome, could have slept forever. Was able to read and just chill without the interruption of kids and cat. If you need a place to be alone with that special someone, you need to stay here. Looking forward to returning during the summer concerts series. Enjoy.

My husband and I spent a wonderful two days at this chalet in Innsbrook, where we enjoyed its unique architecture and interior design. It is spacious and light, with a great bedroom, loft, and living room that is complete with a fireplace stocked with logs. We were especially taken with the way that the chalet is lighted, with unique fixtures and lamps, and beautiful finishes that made the place feel like it was glowing at night. The kitchen is great for cooking meals too!

This place is just gorgeous and there are so many little touches that make it really special. My daughter loved the loft and the TV up there. The kitchen is well equipped and appliances are beautiful and state of the art. The bathroom is beautiful and the master bed is total comfort. A wonderful place to stay!

A MAZE-ING!

Way back in early spring i sat here on VRBO for a whole day dreaming of a vaccation. My fiance and I travel with our dogs and were intrested in rentals. We had only stayed in hotels and it always left us feeling less than secure with our animals. We knew the location had be driveable, i searched five states looking for what were options. ONE. Yes, ONE. In this place i had heard of outside town, innsbrook. Had NO clue how close it was... I emailed sarah, booked within a day, held my excittment close, fall fell upon us, and it was time. To be clear, i rented this A MAZE ING chalet two reasons. Pets & decor. The unit felt like my home, or the more masculine/ cool pallete of my same taste. I never leave home without the comforts of home. If i have a car, why not! As we unpacked, laid our blanket on the bed, hung our own towels in the bathroom, set my freshly purschased bubble bath and candles on the tub deck, heaven. I looked around and was filled with such a serene feeling. Then i heard my fiance from upstairs, oh wow, an extra beauitful space perfect for working on that book i mean to write. Wow. The dogs and i spent much time in the kitchen cooking meals, listening the sound of mother nature on the screened in porch, my faborite place. I even almost slept out there. I soaked in the tub in the night with the window slighlty open and a breeze blowing through the beautiful space. I could go on FOREVER regarding the beauty of the space, but the exterior, innsbrook itself, was so fun. Simple. We hiked, we had a trail ride with the horses,played some tennis and fell in love with chalet 1716. The experience for first time rental was PERFECT. The place was clean, crisp, cool colored, calm, and cozy. Carrot peeler being the ONLY thing i forgot, sarah had that and seriously EVERYTHING you would ever need in the kitchen. As long as you bring a chef! I would return everyweekend if i could afford. My dogs were never happier, my soul was satisfied and my spouse and i have found a super special place "to chal-lax" away from home!! Thank you thank you thank you!!

My wife and I visited the Chalet for our anniversary and could not have been happier. The setting was incredible with a great view of the forest and hardly another home in site. The furnishings & lay out of the Chalet were top notch with a "Soho contemporary" feel. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, the entertainment center with Blue Ray player was great, the furniture was comfortable and great looking as well. This was our first time to the Innsbrook area and found it unbelievably beautiful with more to explore than we had time to on our bikes during our weekend stay. My fiance and I stayed at this Chalet back in the fall and absolutely LOVED our time there. The cabin was perfect for what we needed. We brought our dog which was a lovely additive to our time there. We went hiking, kayaking, cooked, lounged around, and enjoyed the atmosphere. Sarah was so very helpful and was easy to get a hold of. This was the most perfect getaway and exactly what we needed. We both needed a break from our hectic schedules and our stay at Chalet 1716 couldn't have been any better. We can't wait to plan another getaway!

We had a wonderful time at Chalet 1716. From the moment we booked the property, the owner was quick to answer any questions we had and even offered suggestions on how to make our stay more enjoyable. The Chalet was very clean and comfortable; exactly what we expected from the description and photos. Whether we were drinking wine on the deck or kayaking on Lake Aspen, the peace and quiet surrounding us was just what we needed. The highlight of the trip was soaking in the jetted tub, in the candle lit bathroom, listening to the rain fall on the trees through an open window. It doesn't get much better than that. We hope to be back soon.

I know my (take-a-deep-breath-I-can-do-this-say-this-word) husband already wrote a review of 1716 but I had to hop on and add my own. We rented 1716 for our wedding weekend and it was above and beyond our expectations. The house is immaculate, the furniture and fixtures are stylish yet comfortable, and everyone who saw the house loved it. (It served as home base for all my lovely bridesmaids on the wedding day) There's a perfect mix of modern and rustic that make you feel at home yet totally pampered the minute you walk in and I wish we would have had more time there. Though my (geez-there's-that-word-again) husband did the booking and handled all the details, it was clear that Sarah was a dream to work with. We've travelled extensively throughout the world and used VRBO (and other sites like it) and this was the easiest transaction yet. Our parents rented another of her homes, 1717, which is literally right across the street, and they had an equally positive experience. I highly recommend renting both homes if you're looking to house a group and if you have dogs (who would write a seriously glowing review if their paws didn't keep getting in the way.) PS, the bed was insanely comfortable!

Dear Sarah - My wife and I rented your chalets (1716 and 1717) as our home base for our August wedding at Cedar Lake Farms. To say the homes were beautiful would be an understatement. They were homey yet positively stunning. There was nothing we would change about our private, wooded retreat. We cannot lie when time comes for us to build a house in upstate New York we may 'borrow' some of the influences of 1716. :) We look forward to returning on our anniversaries to come :) SLAINTE!!!

Hi Sarah! Your place was absolutely amazing this weekend - we enjoyed it so so much! The chalet was a perfect size for all of us and the dogs loved it too! Me and my sister tried to get our parents to switch beds with us in the loft but no luck! That master bedroom is amazing! I love all the modern furniture, lighting and decoration. The deck was awesome and we sat out on the screened-in porch a lot at night and played games and drank margaritas! It was a very relaxing weekend! We took two hikes and brought the dogs along with us. They both got a few ticks but all is well we got them off. We also went out on the kayaks on Saturday and they were a lot of fun and a great work out! The weather was almost unbearably hot this weekend but we wore our swimsuits everywhere so we could dip in the lake after hiking. All in all it was a great weekend and your place was absolutely beautiful I will def come back! Thank you so much! Emily

A true spa retreat experience in the woods. Quiet, secluded, wooded lot. Kayaks at nearby lake and beach a real plus. We watched the fireworks from the kayaks - unbelievable experience! The early mornings were filled with birds and visiting deer. The amenities are of higher quality than most 5 star hotels - king size bed mattress incredibly comfortable, linens - new, plush, luxurious, cookware - Caphalon (in a vacation rental! - I was in heaven cooking breakfast), I could go on and on - just go and enjoy it yourself. Description is accurate to the letter, photos do not show off the beauty and serenity - it's better than the photos, property is very clean and maintained, owner is an amazing concierge, would definitely recommend to anyone without kids (they would not appreciate it and might mess it up), nearby activities are wonderful - see description. The brand new Blu-Ray Home theatre was a huge plus! Thank you for a fantastic Fourth of July romantic get-away!

This was a delightfully comfortable chalet! Eating, reading and birdwatching from the deck, enjoying a wood fire from the chaise lounge, and hiking on the nature trail were some of the highlights from our weekend. We also loved the spa tub and king sized bed. Everything was as advertised, and I would definitely return, or recommend this chalet. Sarah is gracious and helpful. We didn't want to leave!

Spa Like Retreat. Very Private Get Away for rest and relaxation, or adventure.

First let me say that we have stayed at lots of other places, and Sarah was by far the best person we have ever rented from. She was so easy going, helpful, and attentive. The pictures are beautiful of the chalet, but do not compare with the feeling you get when you see it in person. It is amazing. You pull in to a private, wooded retreat. You walk in, you feel like you just entered a spa. Soothing colors, beautiful decor, and an amazing sense of peace. Everything is open and airy, yet cozy and soft. The fireplace was amazing, the jacuzzi tub was a huge perk, and the wooded view from the deck is serene. It is secluded, yet just close enough to the lake. The resort that the property is on is wonderful. Fishing, swimming, and you can rent canoes, It has tennis courts, hiking, and the property is near its own smaller lake, but the resort has a huge lake also. We seen deer,it would be a bird watchers paradise, and complete peace and quiet. There is something for everyone. It has a resort feel without feeling uptight. We came back feeling rested and refreshed. We loved it so much we will be definitely going back to rent one of Sarahs other properties to take all the kids and another family out to enjoy the lake in the summer. It is perfect for a romantic getaway, girls weekend, even a guys weekend ( I think most guys would appreciate the home theatre system, grill, and deck.), families, over 55 as everything is easily accessible, pretty much anyone. I would highly recommend this chalet.

This chalet is just as nice as it looks in the photos. It is decorated immaculately, and its got everything you might possibly need. It wasn't very warm while we were there, so the fireplace was a great feature. This chalet is truly one of a kind! My review will not do justice for the amazing experience we had. You open the front door and you immediately feel calm, relaxed and pampered. This first class chalet is nestled in the quiet woods and the ambiance is MAGICAL! It is elegant, peaceful, cozy and very spacious. My husband and I spent the weekend here for my birthday and I invited a couple of girlfriends up for an afternoon/evening and everyone had a great time. The owner is wonderful and she provides excellent customer service. We will be back!!

We had such a terrific time at the chalet! You're just an hour from the city but feel like you're in another land...so peaceful! We wanted to find out what Innsbrook had to offer in the winter…WOW we were blown away by the beauty and tranquility. We sat endlessly in front of a roaring fire staring out of the huge windows. The aesthetic of this chalet felt akin to an urban boutique hotel. The owners will never hear complaints about the style and appointments. We made large meals and loads of small apps to fill the time between our naps. We enjoyed all the relaxation but were able to pair it with loads of great walks and hikes around the trails and gravels roads. We plan to return again and again!

A real charmer of a getaway!

My family was delighted to stay in this beautiful chalet that mingles a bit of 'cabin' feel with modern convenience. It is impeccably decorated with furnishings that make you feel 'at home' and comfortable, and we immediately settled in to enjoy some family time amidst the snow-covered scenery. My kids were thrilled to see at least 18 deer within 20 yards of the deck as we watched through the windows! (We adults enjoyed it too.) Though this chalet is a bit smaller, it offered more than enough room for us to relax, watch a movie, play games... And there was plenty of room for all of us - 3 adults, and two children. This was my second time renting from this owner, and she is a delight. My request was (again) last minute, and the she was quick to respond and extremely accommodating. She truly makes the rental experience quite easy! I highly recommend this chalet if you're looking for a cozy place to escape and relax, whether it be with your family or for something more romantic...

Perfect Spot for a Relaxing and Romantic Week!!

This chalet is absolutely beautiful, and was the perfect place for my boyfriend and I to get away for a very relaxing and romantic week. Everything was in perfect condition when we arrived (spotless, better than the pictures!). The kitchen was wonderful - lots of room to cook, all utensils/cookware that we needed, coffee maker, etc. The living room and loft spaces were perfect for reading, lounging, watching movies, and relaxing with a glass of wine. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the jacuzzi in the bathroom was a great plus! Last, but certainly not least, Sarah is great. She will be willing to help with anything you need. We both were so relaxed and enjoyed ourselves so much while we were here; it was hard to leave at the end of the week! We will definitely be returning (hopefully many times) in the future!

My husband and I have just returned from a lovely weekend at Innsbrook. Chalet 1716 met all of our needs for ambiance and ease of living. Upon opening the door, one is aware of the newness and pristine qualities of the chalet. Amenities included an oversized jetted tub and two sets of his and her sinks! Linens, accessories and furnishings were first rate! The kitchen was well-equipped and provided an easy place in which to prepare meals. The owner was very generous with her time and provided lots of communication. We hope to return soon!

Spent the weekend with close friends to relax, cook, golf and chill. What a great experience. This property is special---an upscale city loft placed in the middle of the woods. There is much to do at Innsbrook, even on a cool weekend. It is just far enough away from the city to completely escape and enjoy the wooded rolling hills. A very good golf course is a plus. Everything in this property is first class from the kitchen to the electronics to the furnishings. After a full day outdoors we enjoyed the fireplace while watching a classic movie. I will return to this great getaway.

This was an amazing getaway for me and my wife to enjoy. The styling and detailing of the chalet was truely stunning and above and beyond most of the other chalets at innsbrook. There is something there for everyone to enjoy. Since we visited during the colder climate we didn't go out on the water, but there was still so much to do. We played 18 holes of golf at the very scenic golf course, ate at the clubhouse resteraunt, and then spent most of the time at the chalet itself. It was so comfortable and offered many amenities for entertaining. We cooked on the gas grill that was provided, played board games that were supplied, and watched movies on the spectacular blue ray surround sound system. It was truely a relaxing and unforgettable weekend. I would highly recomend this beautiful chalet to anyone of all ages for an unparalleled vacation retreat.

Beautiful weekend retreat

This chalet provides everything needed to have a relaxing, peaceful getaway, It is tastefully decorated with furnishings that are top of the line. The kitchen is equipped with first class appliances and cookware. We entertained 10 guests with Gumbo that my husband prepared in the chalet's kitchen. The chalet is designed so that everywhere you turn you see a window with the outside coming in. It is secluded and very quiet, a perfect place for a romantic getaway or a place to entertain friends and family. The owner provided two kayaks with paddles for us to use on the lake which was about a mile from the chalet. My husband and daughter went out on the lake in them and really enjoyed the peaceful water and the beautiful colors of fall. I don't think I knew what silence was until I stayed here and experienced the stillness of the trees and the quiet of the night. The owner was fabulous to work with, making sure we had everything we needed to thoroughly enjoy the experience. I want her as my new BFF. We will definitely stay here again. Actually, I want one of my own exactly like this one!!
