The renovation and decoration was completed by designer Martine di Matteo in September 2010, turning this palatial apartment into a masterpiece of style and comfort. It is now available to make your Parisian dreams of ultimate luxury in the City of Light come true.
Located in the heart of Le Marais, the apartment is located on the second floor of a beautifully maintained building which surrounds a stunning courtyard.
The entrance to the building is protected by a digicode system at the large blue doors on the street and then there is a subsequent iron grill requiring a key to open it, providing additional security. An elevator will whisk you up to the apartment where, from the entrance you will be greeted by a magnificent great room, housing the dining room living room and kitchen. There are five two-story-high windows (a full four metres to the ceiling) on the outer wall of the great room leading onto a large terrace that allow ample natural light to stream in, not to mention stunning views of Le Marais.
The living room, at the far end of the space, has been redone in shades of mauve and purple, with gold accents. The period décor includes a striking three-piece sofa and two matching armchairs. The focus of the space is a marble fireplace, topped by an antique mirror and matching intricate glass light fixtures.
The dining room features a large oval wooden dining table that seats eight people lit by a stunning crystal chandelier and is perfect for an elaborate dinner party or a meal on the go.
Adjacent to the dining room, is the fully equipped, château style kitchen with zinc bar, marble counter tops, dishwasher, separate refrigerator and freezer, a large Falcon oven and stovetop and a microwave. All cookware, plates and cutlery are, of course, provided.
One of the ‘pieces de resistance’ of this apartment is the large terrace, which runs the full length of the great room and kitchen and is accessible from the dining room. This space can act as an additional room for dining, sunbathing or just relaxing. The terrace is equipped with one table for six and another that seats two, for a more intimate ‘tête-à-tête.'
One half of the apartment is divided into two levels and from the entrance to the apartment, you may ascend the gently curved, extra wide marble staircase to access the second level. Once at the top you find first the salon that forms part of the master suite. This area provides a place to hide away when desired and is equipped with a love seat and comfortable armchair, as well as built-in closets with hanging, drawer and shelf space. Walking through the salon you descend another staircase to get to the tastefully decorated sleeping area of the master suite, complete with Queen-sized bed (convertible into twins), matching night tables and a large armoire in grey antiqued wood.
A painting by master artist Pascal Amblard adorns the wall adjacent to the bed and there is a 42-inch high-definition television with a Blu-ray DVD player opposite the bed for late night viewing.
Ensuite to the sleeping area is the large Travertine-tiled bathroom, with toilet, sink, heated towel rack and an overly spacious shower with built in bench and lighting...for pure luxury.
Along the same hallway as the entrance to the master suite, is a second bedroom done in hunter green and ruby red. Here, also, there is a choice of a Queen-sized bed or two twin beds from which to admire the hand painted cloud motif mural on the ceiling, also by the artist, Amblard. This room also has a desk/dressing table and chest of drawers, both in rich dark wood, and a flat-screen television. There is a double closet to store anything you may have brought with you.
At the end of the hall is another full bathroom, with an oversized lighted tub in iridescent tile, shower, elegantly simple white sink and vanity -- all behind an antique window strategically placed for charm. This bath is where you can soak for an hour in total peace and harmony.
Continuing past this bathroom, you move again toward the front of the apartment, where there is a loft overlooking the great room. This useful space is home to a built-in desk and entertainment center and a comfortable sofabed for two. The 32-inch high definition flat-screen television, Blu-ray DVD player and iPod dock will come in handy after a day of sightseeing. Your third sleeping choice is to stay on the ground level where there is bedroom number three with a full-sized antique bed and a secretary with a chair, plus ensuite is a Moroccan tiled bathroom with shower.
Across the hall is the utility room, with separate washer and dryer and plenty of other useful items such as ironing board, brooms, mops, etc.
Should you choose to arrive by car, the apartment includes a parking spot in the basement of the building.
As with all of Parler Paris Apartments, Le Château de Violette is equipped with free highspeed wireless Internet, more than one hundred television channels, including several in English and unlimited free long distance calling to more than 100 international destinations.

We had a great time in Paris, and our stay at Le Château de Violette only exemplified the experience. We were able to walk down the block to a great bakery everyday (there were numerous choices within a 2 block radius) to pick up breakfast to eat on the terrace, enjoyed dinner and shopping (maje, sandro, zadig and voltaire, etc) on the same block. Marriage Freres (gourmet teahouse) was also just around the corner. Not only were the photos of the apartment on the website very truthful, the apt exceeded our expectations in terms of amenities, location and decor. The design of the apartment was impeccable! A lot of attention to detail and comfort - lots of extra towels (soft ones!), enough space for everyone to gather, or if they prefer, to have some space in the separate living rooms. Tons of unique Paris "to do" books. We will definitely book this apartment again, and will def recommend Adrian Leeds/Paris Palais to friends.Did you find this review helpful? When Sophie from Parler Paris met us and led us into this amazing newly renovated 2 level apartment rental, our jaws dropped. By far, it is the nicest flat rental we have ever seen. It was over-the-top with the zinc bar and kitchen, gorgeous, huge terrace (where we spent so much time), beautiful 2 storey living room/dining room, chandeliers, modern and innovative lighting, lovely views, 4 bathrooms (2 with large rain showers, 1 with large tub and rainshower and separate toilet/sink (conveniently placed on the main floor) - and 3 total toilets on 2 levels. There are 4 separate sitting areas including the terrace, upper mezzanine/tv/computer/printer room, sitting room on the 2nd floor or the master and sitting area by the fireplace downstairs. Loads of room to spread out. Lots of storage. Each bedroom had its own charactor, lots of room and very comfortable beds. The place was so clean and fresh. There were 3 large flatscreens, dvds, iPod speakers, free wifi, free phone calls, and so many up-to-date travel books placed throughout the flat. Everything we needed was just outside our front doors. The best chocolate croissants were across the street, delicious ice cream and yogurt within a block, busy creperie 1/2 block away, you could walk straight down Vielle Du Temple and be on Isle St Louis, without turning, St Paul subway is a couple of blocks away, the Monoprix is close, corner store and wine 2-3 blocks away in different directions... So much to see and do right there. We loved dining out at Camille on Franc Bourgeouis - a very local place with great food and wine - try the marinated smoked salmon - 3 blocks away - or grabbing a Falafel on Rue des Rosiers but mostly, we enjoyed going to the local markets & shops like Bastille, Montmartre, Marche Aux Puces or to St Paul Village, picking up delicious food and wine and dining all together on our beautiful terrace. Heaven! Shopping note - BHV is only 4 blocks away and has at least 5 floors of fun shopping and unique affordable items including tools, housewares, clothes and more. We truly enjoyed it. Thank you to Parler Paris for your professionalism and all of your thoughtful assistance. Sophie was so warm, kind and welcoming. It just made our 8 nights there so wonderful. When our family left, thank you for moving us to a smaller apartment of the Left Bank. We just loved it all sooooooo much. An outstanding experience from start to finish. With many, many thanks. We enjoyed a wonderful week at the apartment Le Château de Violette. The apartment was bright, full of morning light and we appreciated the attention to detail in all of the apartment’s decorations. The area surrounding the apartment is fabulous—great shops, great sightseeing, great restaurants—all within walking distance. Le Château de Violette was perfect for our large family (there are 7 of us --- 5 children and 2 adults)! The location of the apartment is perfect --- just a few steps from an epicerie, a patisserie, and a chocolaterie. The apartment was also within walking distance from some of our favorite places --- La Place des Vosges, le Marie, a metro station, Notre Dame --- just to name a few. It was also really nice to have a kitchen and dining area!! Our children were quite happy to be able to eat pain au chocolat et des croissants in their pajamas every morning! The best thing about having the apartment was that our entire family was able to be together (instead of having 3 separate hotel rooms).
