Casa Lidia at English Harbour, Antigua

Casa Lidia is a luxuriously spacious, resort-like villa accommodating up to 20 persons comfortably in its selection of ten master suites and apartment studios. Built by hot-spot restaurant and nightclub owner Angelo Caputo, Casa Lidia promises to deliver opulence, whether you want to just lounge by the pool or be pampered by a private chef or masseuse.
The main concrete and wood building features a spacious apartment with four bedroom suites with diamond roofing and floors in hardwood. The pebble-paved bathrooms have open roof showers & tropical plants. Each suite is 450 sq. ft. The 650 sq. ft. dining/living room, with state-of-art Entertainment Cabinet (50” plasma TV and Bose sound system), merges to an additional 700 sq. ft veranda over looking the historical Nelson’s Dockyard. There are plenty of comfortable couches and armchairs as well as a 16 ft long table that seats up to 24 guests. The main living area ?also offers a spacious entrance, a kitchen combining hard wood and stainless steel, and 2 half-bathrooms for guests, accessible from the back veranda.
Downstairs there are two communicating but independent apartment studios with outdoor kitchenettes and alfresco dining areas. The bedrooms and veranda floors are paved with Italian ceramic tiles. The bathrooms are much like the ones upstairs with open roof shower cabins & tropical plants. This floor also houses the laundry, cold and dry storage & pump rooms, along with staff bathroom and the gym.
The two Ulin (Iron) and Teak wood cottages, inspired by the Shokintei Tea Pavilion (Katsura Palace, Kyoto, 1500 A.D.), each feature two apartment studios, assembled with “double dove tail technique” fittings by Mr. Schultz and his talented staff that also designed and built most of the wood roofs, floors, terraces, decks, stairways as well as doors, windows and the unique custom designed furniture.
All 10 bedrooms are furnished with four poster king size beds, have an en suite bathroom with “open air” showers, air conditioning, dual voltage 110 & 220 power supply, high speed internet, phone, safe, refrigerator, LCD screen, IPOD decks, AM/FM radio & alarms. Beds cannot be separated but an additional single bed can be made available.
The development also includes a green & white stone infinity plunge pool with 8 Jacuzzi jets, 200 sq. ft. white stone sun platform with outdoor shower, a 500sq.ft. bamboo gazebo with hammocks and sun beds, and a 10,000 sq.ft. garden planted with over 100 tropical fruit trees and plants.
