  We had the good fortune to find this property on VRBO and book a ten night stay. Our daughter and her family stayed in another unit in the same complex. We feel this IS the best property in West Maui near Lahaina. Our unit stands out because the owner has taken care of all the little things that made our visit special. The view was sensational from the kitchen, living room and lanai; we saw humpback whales from the lanai within three hours of arrival and sea turtles were indeed abundant. We observed boats, outrigger canoes, and stand up surfers on a daily basis from the lanai. Another special feature of here that is not available in all units is air conditioning. In late afternoon the sun is intense and heats up the property, so having the air conditioning was a real plus for us. The kitchen was fully stocked with all necessary utensils; the only thing I did not see was a coffee grinder, so we bought ground coffee beans. The shower/tub area was very large; the tub was a jacuzzi style with many jets. The bbq worked great; there a picnic right there where you can eat steps from the water. The entire property including pool and landscape were very well maintained. The furniture is nice and in excellent condition. While this property is not located on a sandy beach, it is ocean front. In fact, the ocean is about five feet from the pool, which was right outside our room (and down two floors). We found "Baby Beach" a short (2 min) drive from the complex. Another thing we appreciated was free covered parking for all of the units--its a small complex and pretty quiet. We recommend renting a car, as it is a pretty long walk to downtown Lahaina; at least WE were glad to have a car. If you need help to plan an itinerary of things to do, I highly recommend Greg & Lou at Expedia "Local Expert", an outdoor booth right across the street from the Pioneer Inn on Front Street. Both have been in Lahaina for many years. They helped us plan out our entire week of activities; every single one was great! They also gave us great advise on places to eat. We recommend Fleetwood's, owned by Mick Fleetwood, Captain Jack's or Cool Cat's, and Cheeseburger in Paradise. All in all this was undoubtedly our favorite family vacation ever. Our daughter and her family stayed in another unit in this complex, so we maintained our independence yet were close enough to do things together. Mahalo, Jan....We shall return!

  We had a great stay here, it was a perfect place for us. We loved to wake up and sit on the lanai and watch the whales and the sea turtles. The condo had everything we needed, a fully equipped kitchen even a pineapple coring device which we used a few times.We definitely liked having the washer and dryer. It was close enough to downtown Lahaina and yet far enough from the crowds.The grocery store was very close and so were a bunch of restaurants. Most of our time at the condo was spent on the lanai watching the whales and the beautiful sunsets. We had the best vacation of our lives and it was a joy to stay here!!

  When you book something on-line and you have extremely high hopes, it can be a little daunting, never knowing what you can really expect. As I pulled into the driveway, I was first happy about finding out I was within walking distance to a grocery store, a coffee shop and some great restaurants. Then upon entering the condo, it felt inviting, comfy and quite livable. I immediately walked to the back and opened the sliding glass doors leading to the balcony, facing directly towards the water which is of course, why I was here. The beautiful sweet sounds of the waves filled my ears and the Pacific itself was directly beyond the beautiful swimming pool. Relief! Happiness! Satisfaction! The bedroom hosted a comfortable bed and large closet as well as a dresser and TV. The bathroom was very large including an equally large spa tub. I am very, very happy with Lahaina Roads and felt like I was living like a local and loved it! Jan Hendrix can be assured that I will stay here again and I can't wait!!

  We had a wonderful stay in #308 - everything was ready for us when we arrived. Jan made our booking easy and was such a pleasure to deal with. Everything was exactly as described from the King Bed to the A/C and beach towels & chairs. Thank you Jan for making our vacation so special!

  - This is truly a wonderful vacation spot. We loved the condo and all the amenities that is provided. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The pool is beautiful and clean! The view is outstanding! Shopping and the restaurants are all nearby and the owner gives great recommendations. We truly had the best vacation of our lives and coming home to the condo was the best. I would highly recommend this property to our friends and family..

  It was our 20th anniversary and hubby and I were looking to do something different, so we booked this fabulous condo from Jan Hendrix for two weeks. The condo had all the amenities that anyone would want from the beach towels and coolers to beach chairs and and just plain comfort. I have to admit we did not spend much time inside as there was the whales or sea turtles to watch from the lanai every morning, and cooling off in the wonderful pool in the afternoon. The condo is close enough you could walk to the grocery store or just even for a bite to eat. Now that we have returned home to Calgary, Canada I think the thing that we miss the most is the wonderful sound of the ocean and its mighty roar. I would recommend this condo to anyone who loves to be close to the ocean and away from the hustle and bustle of more populated areas. My husband and I can hardly wait until we may return again.

  Jan's "pre-visit" information was outstanding: she covered all bases and then some. The condo is so convenient to everything In Lahaina. The lanai was my favorite spot - loved looking out over the tidepools and enjoying the surf sounds. The kitchen has been updated and is perfectly equipped. And, that huge jacuzzi was just what we needed after a long day of "seeing the sites"! We postponed our 50th wedding anniversary trip (over 51 now) to come to Maui and see our KY basketball team play in the tournament. It was well worth the wait and I am glad that we selected this condo. Thanks for a great week.

  This was our second stop on our 20th anniversary vacation trip and it was the best. The property was very clean and had everything we needed. When the TV in the bedroom broke, Jan was there the next day with a replacement. Even though we had a car, we walked to town daily. The view from the lanai was breathtaking and I looked forward to getting up and watching for turtles every morning. Maui is a great place to vacation and Lahaina Roads is a great place to stay. I highly recommend driving to the top of the volcano for the sunrise and driving the road to Hana. Be sure to stop and the state park just before entering the town of Hana. We hope to come back again some day, maybe when the whales are there. June & Larry

  Words cannot describe our stay for the 4th time at this wonderful property. The minute we walk into this warm perfect condo we always get the feeling we have come "home" Thanks to Jan's amazing insight and hospitality. She covers all bases. Fully stocked kitchen: pots, pans, everything you need if you decide to cook or BBQ on the beautiful grounds. You have a sense of peace on the property. Quiet and well kept. I love the "smallness" of the building in the midst of all types of homes in the neighborhood; the easy walk to downtown , Grocery, the restaurants close by, sitting on the Lanai or by the pool staring at the ocean and watching the sunset,. Jan provides fun and interesting books about Maui. This year was our first year seeing WHALES, on our sunset cruise arranged by a company Jan suggested ( this was our 5th sunset catamaran cocktail cruise. then just relaxing on the lanai - 2 whales cruised by the building! Jan is always there if you ever need something but the "home" is always in tip top shape! Mahalo Jan as always for making this a wonderful warm vacation place to be.   Beyond the incredible view, and a clean, spacious condo, Jan provides everything for your vacation needs: fully equipped kitchen, beach chairs, towels, even an ice chest! The complex is nice and quiet, and parking is free and plentiful. Jan is a wonderful host and an excellent communicator, providing great tips about Maui and making herself available if you have any questions or problems.
