- This is truly a wonderful vacation spot. We loved the condo and all the amenities that is provided. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The pool is beautiful and clean! The view is outstanding! Shopping and the restaurants are all nearby and the owner gives great recommendations. We truly had the best vacation of our lives and coming home to the condo was the best. I would highly recommend this property to our friends and family..

It was our 20th anniversary and hubby and I were looking to do something different, so we booked this fabulous condo from Jan Hendrix for two weeks. The condo had all the amenities that anyone would want from the beach towels and coolers to beach chairs and and just plain comfort. I have to admit we did not spend much time inside as there was the whales or sea turtles to watch from the lanai every morning, and cooling off in the wonderful pool in the afternoon. The condo is close enough you could walk to the grocery store or just even for a bite to eat. Now that we have returned home to Calgary, Canada I think the thing that we miss the most is the wonderful sound of the ocean and its mighty roar. I would recommend this condo to anyone who loves to be close to the ocean and away from the hustle and bustle of more populated areas. My husband and I can hardly wait until we may return again.

Jan's "pre-visit" information was outstanding: she covered all bases and then some. The condo is so convenient to everything In Lahaina. The lanai was my favorite spot - loved looking out over the tidepools and enjoying the surf sounds. The kitchen has been updated and is perfectly equipped. And, that huge jacuzzi was just what we needed after a long day of "seeing the sites"! We postponed our 50th wedding anniversary trip (over 51 now) to come to Maui and see our KY basketball team play in the tournament. It was well worth the wait and I am glad that we selected this condo. Thanks for a great week.

This was our second stop on our 20th anniversary vacation trip and it was the best. The property was very clean and had everything we needed. When the TV in the bedroom broke, Jan was there the next day with a replacement. Even though we had a car, we walked to town daily. The view from the lanai was breathtaking and I looked forward to getting up and watching for turtles every morning. Maui is a great place to vacation and Lahaina Roads is a great place to stay. I highly recommend driving to the top of the volcano for the sunrise and driving the road to Hana. Be sure to stop and the state park just before entering the town of Hana. We hope to come back again some day, maybe when the whales are there. June & Larry

Words cannot describe our stay for the 4th time at this wonderful property. The minute we walk into this warm perfect condo we always get the feeling we have come "home" Thanks to Jan's amazing insight and hospitality. She covers all bases. Fully stocked kitchen: pots, pans, everything you need if you decide to cook or BBQ on the beautiful grounds. You have a sense of peace on the property. Quiet and well kept. I love the "smallness" of the building in the midst of all types of homes in the neighborhood; the easy walk to downtown , Grocery, the restaurants close by, sitting on the Lanai or by the pool staring at the ocean and watching the sunset,. Jan provides fun and interesting books about Maui. This year was our first year seeing WHALES, on our sunset cruise arranged by a company Jan suggested ( this was our 5th sunset catamaran cocktail cruise. then just relaxing on the lanai - 2 whales cruised by the building! Jan is always there if you ever need something but the "home" is always in tip top shape! Mahalo Jan as always for making this a wonderful warm vacation place to be. Beyond the incredible view, and a clean, spacious condo, Jan provides everything for your vacation needs: fully equipped kitchen, beach chairs, towels, even an ice chest! The complex is nice and quiet, and parking is free and plentiful. Jan is a wonderful host and an excellent communicator, providing great tips about Maui and making herself available if you have any questions or problems.

Lahaina Roads #308 was the right choice for our vacation 10/23/09 - 11/1/09. What we really loved was the small quiet complex, the well-maintained pool and grounds, cleanliness of the unit, stellar ocean view and the walking distance from the Cannery Mall, Old Lahaina Luau, Aloha Mixed Plate and Mala Tavern. The condo was furnished with everything we could possibly need. Many early mornings were spent on the lanai, drinking coffee and watching the sea turtles. The ocean is literally feet from the pool and the sunsets with the boats moored out in the ocean is spectacular! Jan is very helpful with her info she provides on what to do in Maui. She recommended Andreas from Barefoot Tours and that only enhanced our Maui experience. Don't miss sailing on Scotch Mist II, one of our highlights. The Old Lahaina Luau is the luau to go to. We loved walking the Lahaina downtown and if you're reading this, don't hesitate to book this condo whether you're on your honeymoon, celebrating 50 years or just because. Aloha Jan and thank you!

Lahaina Roads #308 was the correct choice for our recent vacation 10/23/09 - 11/2/09. The condo is well supplied, in good repair and has a stellar view of the ocean. What we really liked was the small condo complex quiet, immaculate pool and grounds and the walking distance to the Cannery Mall, Aloha Mixed Plate and Mala Tavern. Many mornings were spent drinking coffee on the lanai and watching the turtles. In the evenings we watched the sunsets, quite spectacular with the boats harbored in the view. Jan goes out of her way to furnish you info about what to do in Maui, this was a great help as we discovered Andreas from Barefoot Tours that way. Two things not to miss - Old Lahaina Luau (just down the street) and sailing on Scotch Mist II!

All of the comments on here are true! This place is great. The view from the lani is unbeatable. The first day when we arrived we watched the sunset from the balcony. The jet tub was nice for our sore muscles from trying to surf. We cooked breakfast almost every morning and ate on the lani. The waves are super loud and are great to sleep too. The grounds are SPOTLESS! Mike the manager is very helpful as well. We didn't get a chance to turn the TV on but it was there too. If you are looking for a place to stay this is it. You can walk to Front St! Close to everything! Thanks for letting us use the place Jan, it was perfect!

Jan's condo was the by far the best condo we stayed in while on our honeymoon in Hawaii. The location is perfect -- near restaurants, shops, and activities, yet removed enough so that you still are in a relaxing atmosphere. The condo is in great condition, and has all of the amenities you could ask for. The grounds are just as nice, and we enjoyed spending some time at the pool--the sunset is FABULOUS. Mike (the manager) takes impeccable care of the pool and outdoor facilities which also added to the overall appeal of the entire property. We were sad to leave, and cannot wait to return to this condo again!!! Thanks again Jan!

My wife and myself loved this unit. We found the location to be great. It was within walking distance to all of the downtown shops/restaurants. As well, the local mall with the grocery store was a 3 minute walk. The unit itself was great as well. It came equipped with everything you needed (i.e. beach chairs, cooler, and all the kitchen gadgets). The unit has a great view of the ocean and the sunsets are amazing to watch directly from your private balcony. We we cooked our own meals we always ate on the balcony. As well, the unit was nice and modern and is well maintained. Jan was also very helpful. She called us on our first day to ensure we had everything we needed which was a nice touch!

4/1 - 4/11 Wonderful place to stay - very convenient to everything & a beautiful setting. Watched whales & sea turtles every day from the lanai. The snorkeling right out front is great; better than any of the snorkeling spots you pay to be taken to. Mala warf is only a couple blocks away & the snorkeling is very good there also. The condo & grounds are immaculate & have everything you need. If you are looking for a relaxing, private & convenient place to stay on Maui, this is it! Jan's pictures and preview letter with helpful hints, available activities and description of the condo was RIGHT ON! No crowds, close to shopping, restaurants, beaches and Lahaina. The view of the harbor was great, sailboats coming and going, saw turtles everyday and had a few spectacular sunsets. We recommend the Ocean Center, Atlantis Submarine ride and the Road to Hana is a must! Jim even went Paragliding. We did our activities the beginning of our two week vacation and spent the last couple of days lounging around the pool and had a couple of BBQ's at the patio. What a wonderful place to spend our 40th anniversary, everything WAS just like being at "home". Thanks for EVERYTHING !!! Jeannette & Jim

Staying in the condo at Lahaina Roads made our vacation time the perfect family time. We spent every day surfing, snorkeling, sailing, attending craft fairs and parades, then we got to come "home" to our little condo and listen to the sounds of the surf, watch beautiful sunsets, and relax while planning out our next day.

We can't wait to go back! We just returned from our week in paradise celebrating our 2nd anniversary. We stayed in Jan's condo from June 2nd to June 9th. The photos can't do justice to this place (that goes for everything in Maui). The view from the lanai is unbelievable, with a picture perfect sunset everyday. You just have to be there in person to appreciate it. Jan's place is top of the line. Easy access to everything and all the conveniences of home. We had none of the worries and surcharges that I had read so many times in negative reviews of the larger resorts, nor the crowds. Parking was easy and included. We could walk to restaurants, shops, and a grocery store. Never once did I not get a poolside chair. We had our own personal jacuzzi tub in the condo. A full kitchen so we could eat in or grill out on the gas grills located on the property. We can't wait to go back. We have told all our friends and no one can believe how good a deal we got in Maui!! See you next year:)

We spent 11 days at this wonderful Condo in April, 2008. We loved it! Watched the turtles and whales from the balcony, saw a rainbow over Molokai every morning with our coffee, and enjoyed beautiful sunsets over the northern tip of Lanai every night. What a dream location! The Condo was clean and comfortable, it was nice to have such convenient parking, and it was just an all around wonderful experience. Loved Lahaina! I just wish this note could accomodate a picture of that rainbow...

This is the best place ever!!! You can't get any closer to the water without being on a boat, The room was fantastic, all the comforts of home, Big comfy bed, modern kitchen, even a dishwasher!!! all within walking distance to Lahaina Town. We have already booked for next year.

Wow, when sitting on the sofa you feel like you are on a cruise ship because the ocean level is right at the lanai!! The huge double jaccuzi bath tub and new kitchen lack nothing!! The complex is quiet and close to town. Such a joy to have breakfast in the morning on the lanai while you watch the resident green sea turtles have their breakfast.....Hope we can go back, 6 days weren't enough!!!

My husband and I have visited Maui many times in the past. We usually elect to stay in hotels. This was the first time we considered searching out vacation rentals on line. We were tentative at first. However we took the plunge and let me assured those of you who may feel the same way, Jan is very legit. Moreover, her condominium unit at Lahaina Roads delivers as advertised. It is lovely inside, clean, and has every amenity. I absolutely loved being so close to the water and hearing the ocean 24/7 from the living room. The building has an on-site Manager who is very personable and takes very good care of the premises. The building structure itself is older, circa 1960, but if that’s not a concern to you, staying at Lahaina Roads is an excellent experience and an exceptional value!

Great experience, great owner, great location! I have traveled to all the islands many times and even lived on Kauai for a time. This by far is one of my most favorite condos!!! You can't beat the view, the ambiance and the central location. You feel like a local and it feels peaceful, homey, and romantic. The sunsets, the mornings out on the deck and the sound of the waves crashing at night was all perfect Hawaii for me! I would love to go back during whale season, cuz this condo is in the perfect spot. Loved it and can't wait to go back and get in that wonderful bathtub. Jan is very helpful and hospitable.....what more could you ask for?!?! You should not pass up such a deal.

We had a wonderful time staying at your condo. The term "oceanfront" doesn't even do it justice. It was unbelievable how close to the ocean we were. Laying out by the pool you get splashed by the ocean waves! I would give this condo the highest rating possible except I hate to advertise-it is Maui's best kept secret! Thanks for the great time! Our stay on Maui was from 5/6 to 5/12 2006. Renting this condo was a very smart decision on our part. Jan's attention to detail made our stay extremely comfortable. This condo is clean, organized and well equiped. Being centrally located in the area is also very convenient. The balcony views are beautiful. The water is clear and bright in the morning, sparkling from the sun in the afternoon; and in the evening when everyone downtown was scrambling for a spot to catch the sumset we were enjoying it from our private balcony. Having such a central location made it easy to explore the entire island. Jan's CD's made the cruising more fun. My husband and I were celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary and I'm positive we will be back to spend another at this fantastic condo. Thanks for everything Jan. Jan, Thanks for everything. The condo was great. It had everything you need except for the food (grocery store just down the road). It is in a great location right on the ocean, and walking distance to the shops and restaurants on front street (which is a great place to go). It was so relaxing to sit on the lanai and listen to the ocean. Can't wait to go back.

Thanks, Jan--your condo was great! We really appreciated the extras you provided in the kitchen (paper products, foil & wraps, spices, etc.) as well as the beach towels, chairs & ice chest--very convenient for the beach. The location of the condo was great--close to shopping and dining, but quiet and uncrowded. The snorkeling on Maui was fantastic, and our favorite restaurant was Mama's Fish House in Paia--wonderful!

This is a lovely, well equipped condo with a beautiful view and a fabulous pool! The jacuzzi bath tub was great and the kitchen has high end appliances. I loved the sound of the crashing waves as I slept, very soothing. It is centrally located but not right in the crowded area of Lahaina. Close to everything but private as well. A great deal for the price.

Lahina Roads was an awesome place to view the whales and turtles from the lanai! The sound of the crashing waves at night was a wonderful melody to fall asleep to. We loved walking to restaurants and coffee and found the undercover parking was a real plus. The unit has many special touches with lotion and candles and plenty of towels and nice kitchen appliances. We had fun cooking "at home" and watching the beautiful sunsets. A REAL DEAL.........

Our stay was from 3/15 - 3/22/05. We loved using this as our home-away-from-home. As other posters have stated, the amenities were wonderful. We have much video of whale activity viewed from the lanai. We much enjoyed being able to walk to Safeway and Long Drugs (about 2 blocks) and to downtown Lahaina (about 15 minutes). Sure beats worrying about the traffic! And the chaise lounges around the pool were always available (no fighting for an available chair like in some resorts!) This was our first time renting a condo in Hawaii and we were very pleased with this great unit. Jan was so helpful and kind!

Wow! what a great place to stay. Besides the location being great, the unit itself is topnotch. Nice updates include tile floor, new kitchen cabinets and appliances and jetted tub in bathroom. Very roomy for 3 people. The kitchen is like home away from home, plenty of utensils, pots and pans, dishes, stemware, flatware, etc. Beach gear was great, cooler, chairs, grass mats, and boogie board all appreciated. The gas grill was a treat and the pool and grounds nicely maintained. Plenty of fresh towels in the bathroom, and the lotion was a bonus. The lanai is great for wathcing whales and turtles any time of day. Would definetely stay here again and recommend to friends.

Aloha - we spent a glorious week in this unit and had a wonderful time. The appliances are all modern and worked great. The extra touches did not go unnoticed either. Being on the third level gave us the perfect view to watch the turtles and whales in the early hours and near sunset. That was their most active time. You could see the whales without binoculars, and they sure are enchanting to watch....you lose all track of time when you sit on the lanai and sip your fav beverage. The king bed is comfy, we found the sofa bed not too comfortable though. Would suggest the owner place an air mattress type bed for use when you have 4 people in the condo. We will return to Maui - soon. Do not miss Haleakala tour....it is worth the early hour travel time.

My new hubby and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect! There are a ton of little touches that make the place truly memorable. My favorite is watching the sunsets out on the lanai. You see the waves crash in and spot turtles sticking their heads up out in the ocean. We also did four dives with Jan's dive shop and it was the best dive trip I've ever been on! We'll be back without a doubt and recommend this place to anyone visiting Maui!!!

We stayed at Lahaina Roads for our honeymoon. It was perfect. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. We enjoyed the sound of the surf right out side was incredible. When we go back to Maui we will be staying again at Lahaina Roads.

What a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful place. We saw lots of turtles and whales were everywhere. The lanai is hard to beat for views of the sunset. The residents are all very friendly and offer great tips for those who visit. This is defninetly a great find and is very modern and well equipped. Jan is very helpful and just call her if you have any questions.

We were very happy with our stay at this wonderful condo. Upon arrival, I was quite impressed by the level to which this unit was furnished and prepared. The extra touches did not go unnoticed! We spent countless hours on your patio watching the whales and turtles, as we had little inclination to go elsewhere. I already recommended this unit to my family. In short, this condo is gorgeous and an outstanding value.

Talk about a condo that gives you the impression of being ON THE OCEAN! I loved the sight and sounds of the breakers. The condo is so fabulously decorated, with the pretty glass brick bathroom, the jacuzzi, and the up to the minute remodeled kitchen with every appliance one might want. These three weeks were my 60th birthday present from my husband! Couldn't have been better. So peaceful and beautiful. I spent hours swimming in the pool right next to the ocean. The sunsets were spectacular. Loved the kitchen and jacuzzi. Thanks for the stay, I'll come again in a minute. Ronita

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Close to Lahina and right on the water we could not ask for more. The condo is very nicely renovated, well situated and clean. They have a nice pool and quiet residents. I was happy to find everything that we needed for a realaxing stay, beach towels, blender, candles, soaps and even a brand new sponge for the kitchen. The owner was very easy to work with and helpful with what to do during our stay.
