If you want to relax and not be bothered by anything this is the place to stay. Wonderful location in a secluded very private complex. Everything was provided for in the condo as far as kitchen supplies that we used to make wonderful meals, luxurious linens, comfortable furnishings. We had the best snorkeling at the beach out front from all the other beaches we visited. We saw beautiful fish, eels, octopus and swam with turtles. Centrally located to drive from all points on the island. Lynn's list of sight seeing and restaurants was invaluable. Our family now has some wonderful memories from this trip and will be returning very soon for a much longer stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family could not have dreamed up a better location to get away from the rainy northwest in March. Condo was nicely appointed with all the amenities to make a week's stay as comfortable as possible. The only way to be more "ocean front" than this condo is to be floating on the water...the deck literally extends out over the water. Incredible experience. Having beach towels, boogey boards, etc...already there makes packing for Hawaii much less cumbersome. For local food, we couldn't beat Mamma's Ribs and Chicken just a few blocks away. I can highly recommend this condo to any family of four, or couple, looking for an authentic Hawaii oceanfront experience.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Everything was as advertised for this unit. I could not think of another unit that better ocean views. The waves coming ashore made for some wonderful sleeping. The unit has air conditioning but the cool breeze frm the ocean kept the unit quite comfortable. The best part of this experience was the owners who made sure that your needs were thought of in advance. Then they would follow up and double check to make sure they hadn't missed anything. Even the sea turtle directly below your balcony seemed to be asking to be your friends as well.. This was all topped of with a very private beach to enjoy.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This unit lived up to every expectation and was a perfect "home base" for day trips around the island; close to restaurants, shopping, golf, and obviously the beach. This is easily the prime location in the complex, with views that are even more breathtaking than the photos suggest. Lynn's very thorough primer of travel tips for the area was very helpful for Maui first-timers and her recommendations were all in good taste. Making rental arrangements was a snap, and we were afforded a late checkout to accommodate our flight. A great place for a great family vacation!Recommended for: Families with teenagers

The description is definitely on point and not an exaggeration in any way. The pictures the owners post are beautiful, however, the ambiance and beauty of the surrounding waters and beaches cannot be captured in a photo. It's all here, you just have to take the plunge! Pristine beach for swimming or snorkeling within a few feet from the unit, and the most amazing views of the water, islands, turtles (and fish) right from the deck. We cannot wait to go back! We really can't add more than what already has been written in the previous reviews. You will love it! You cannot go wrong staying here - it's as simple as that! Everything we needed (and way more) for a superb vacation was supplied. We woke up every day and went to sleep every night very happy. We could list all the positives but really, it's already been written. If you want a beautifully equipped and well-kept condo on the ocean, steps away from a private beach and a pool, if you want to watch the sunset every night from your two lanais, if you want to sleep to the sound of ocean waves, stay here. Guaranteed you'll love it too!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My wife and I have had the wonderful oppurtunity to travel extensively throughought the world and have experienced many levels of accomodation. This condo rates extremely high for it's comfort and spectacular beauty! The setting is spectacular with a private beach that is fantastic for snorkling, fishing and just playing in the surf. The master bedroom opens onto a large very private deck and becasue you are ON the ocean the oceans orchestra provides an amazing lullaby to go to sleep to. Most any time of the day you can watch the family of large sea turtles grazing on algae and to swim with these magnificant anaimals is an experience you will never forget! This condo is fully stocked, all you need to bring is your fresh fish and some good wine! The fish market just down the street supplies amazing fresh fish every day - try the swordfish! Lynn was a most gracious host and she supplied us with a package of wonderful information including hiking trails, top rated restaurants, cruise information.... I would recomend this site for couples and families. The children can run from the pool to the beach and from this condo you can see them at all times. There are two BBQ's for your use, very nice to cook and watch the waves... There are boogie boards for guests (young and old kids) to use. The pictures do not do this condo justice becasue along with the very modern interior and furniture the part missing is the constant rythm of the ocean and the sunsets that will remanin in your fond memeories for a long time to come! My wife and I had an exceptionally good time at A-1 and will no doubt be returning for another stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Our family stayed in unit A-1 for 12 days in March of 2012. We have visited Maui several times over the years and have stayed in various places, but this is our absolute favorite! Everything about the condo exceeded our expectations from the HUGE corner lanai overlooking the ocean to the roomy two story layout. The Kahana Sunset beach is great fun for swimming, body surfing or snorkeling. We saw two turtles on our first snorkel outing on the beach. The condo was nicely stocked with linens, kitchen supplies and toiletries. There are even beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards and floaties for the kids. We had WIFI access as well as a big flat screen TV in the living room. The unit is also air conditioned which made sleeping upstairs very comfortable. All in all, this is a great condo in a perfect location. We would love to stay here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This breathtaking condo is even nicer than the photo. We spent 7 amazing days watching whales breeching every morning and sea turtles grazing every night right from the balcony - our kids loved it and it was well worth the money. On top of that the care and attention that the owner spent ensuring that everything would be ready for our arrival was amazing - they even had some food and condiments in the fridge which came in so handy. The condo is by far the nicest one at the resort because of its location and the air conditioning was such a pleasant surprise. You won't be disappointed with this unit and it is well worth the money.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We had seen the listing and photos, but when we walked in, we were floored. We've travelled the world and stayed in amazing places but THIS is the set-up. It's not only on the sand, it's right over the water. We love it up there in Kahana, too, as elsewhere on the island gets too intensely hot--Kahana is warm and balmy, perfect, and the ocean water was soothing and inviting. The association has it all: every amenity for indoors and out, everything you can imagine, and so does the condo. The owners were SO sweet! We loved the comfy rattan throughout. We could hang out all day in paradise, or do a thousand day trips from there. By the end of the week, something about the ocean sound right there, we were in a pure zen state.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A-1 is definitely Paradise. We stayed at Kahana Sunset with another couple for 12 days and did not want to go home. We had plenty of room, privacy and all of the amenities you could need or want. The beds and pillows are the best. All of us slept so sound. Being a corner unit on the ocean, we had an extra large corner deck which was great for dinners, sunsets, morning coffee, and just relaxing, and of course the sounds of the surf. What a view!! Just below us was our own “private beach”. Calm waters, snorkeling and of turtles (lots of turtles). The location of Kahana Sunset is perfect. You’re close to everything - shopping, dining, grocery stores, and activities. We’ve stayed in the A building before, but this unit surpasses all of the other condos in this complex. Planning next year’s trip is already in the works. what a beautiful place to spend a heavenly week in Maui! water views everywhere you look, feel like you are on a boat! such comfortable bedrooms and the air conditioning is a very nice touch. the condo had everything you could imagine and more and the beach right outside the doorstep was the nicest we visited during our stay, the water is so clear and blue and the snorkeling/paddle boarding was terrific! i highly recommend staying here and we are planning to come back as soon as possible! many thanks lynn!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed in A-1 for 2 weeks and we loved it. It's wonderful to go to sleep hearing the waves and to wake up to the view. It's only steps to the beach. The sea turtles are around morning and afternoon just below the condo. The snorkeling is also fun. The rainbows are amazing too. The condo is beautifully updated and fully stocked with kitchen and service items, plush towels and comfy sheets. The corner patio is larger than the others and affords an incredible view. We are return guests and love A-1! We had 4 and 5 people staying and it great for all of us. It's wonderful to sit on the patio and watch the sunset. You cannot beat the view! It's great to just hang out there. It's an all around lovely and relaxing experience to stay at A-1. We stayed at this absolutely beautiful condo January 11 to 17 and DID NOT want to leave. The furnishings are lovely and exemplify Hawaii at its best. There were four of us and we never felt crowded. Each couple had a spacious private bath and beautiful views from the bedrooms as well as the living room downstairs. The wrap around balcony was heavenly. We watched the wonderful Hawaian sunsets from the balcony or walked a few steps to the sandy beach. It was like we had our own private resort. There are many great restaurants within a very short drive as well as golf courses and shopping . The owners obviously want repeat business as they went out of their way to ensure our comfort. We would rather stay here than in a hotel.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Stayed here 5 nights in Jan 2011, would have stayed longer if we could, but they had another rental party coming in. Unbelievable views and location!!!!! It felt like the waves were crashing under our bed. Very clean and the owners did a great job with making our stay that much more enjoyable with helpful hints and information. Deck was huge, overlooking the ocean below. Also, with where this condo is located (corner spot) within this condo community, it felt that we were there by ourselves and that we had a private beach to go to, literally 50 yards away! Already have made plans to come back and stay here towards the end of this year.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed here for almost two weeks with our three daughters in December. Let me tell you that photos dont do justice. This condo has the best location and views in this condo community. Beach is very good and is almost private. This was our first rental through VRBO and were a little apprehensive but Lynn gave us very helpful advice over the phone and via email. This condo is very comfortable and well stocked. There are lots of good and family friendly resturants close to it and Napili Plaza is just minutes away. Kahana is a great location on West Maui. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Maui. We are very fortunate to spend such good family time on this little piece of heavan called Maui in such a beatiful and comfotable condo. I have had the pleasure of staying at the Foster's condo this past Thanksgiving and continued the festivities in honor of my 40th birthday. I could not think of a more wonderful way to celebrate such an amazing milestone in my life. This was my third time returning to this exact condo, and there's no place i would rather stay while visiting this amazing paradise! The moment you enter the condo your body will immediately gravitate toward the sliding glass doors, leading you to the most spectacular view of the Pacific you have ever seen. As you open the doors all your senses are immersed in the beauty, the smells, and the sounds all around. You stand there and think, "wow, this is exactly what I needed!" The family room and kitchen area is a perfect place to host festivities.With a medium sized living room area that includes a couch, table, many places to sit, and enough space for everyone. Around the kitchen area there are multiple bar stools and a large counter top area equip with all the appliances and dining tools needed for any occasion! Upstairs the bedrooms both have full baths and double sinks so plenty of room for everyone. All of the beds are lined with the most comfortable linens and plush pillows. Located in the master bedroom is a deck area with yet another spectacular view! How can this place get anymore amazing your starting to think right? My daughter also enjoyed making new friends, and snorkeling at this amazing private beach! If you don't feel up to visiting the beach, you can also enjoy yourself at the heated pool area.Kahana Sunset is extremely kid friendly and welcoming of all ages.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The location was perfect, we were near shopping, grocery stores, local recreation, and of course -the beach. The interior of this unit is clean and well decorated. We found out during our stay that this is one of the only units with Air Conditioning so the inside temps were very comfortable even when it was in the mid 90's outside. Unit has granite counter tops, nice amenities like a big fridge and washer/dryer, large patio and spacious bedrooms (master has ocean view). This unit is directly on the water and provides clear views of sea turtles and even whales! Nice, clean sandy beach and community BBQs available to grill whatever. This is an exceptional place to stay! I stayed here from July 15 through the 27th. The unit is nicely decorated with tile floors and granite; well appointed wtih everything you need in the kitchen. It comes with its own beach including turtles and fish. The balconies are right over the water so you have a great view of the turtles. The beach is calm and you can snorkel in your own backyeard! It's very peaceful and relaxing here. I love watching the spectaular sunsets and stargazing at night. There are stores nearby (within walking or driving distance). There are bbq's on the property for the nights I didn't want to eat out and for the nights I did there are restaurants within a short driving distance. My favorite place to dine is at the Pineapplie Grill! If you enjoy golfing you have 3 great golf courses to choose from. The zipline is a blast! I met alot of nice people while staying here and hope to see them again. I would highly recommend staying here to my friends and family. This was my first visit to Maui and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. My stay was for a week….that lasted two. I’m now a committed once a year patron. The condo is very spacious, well appointed, comfortable, sanitary and beautifully cared for. The living room and master bedroom picture windows provide breathtaking sunset and rainbow views second only to the views from the tremendously spacious balconies of each. This is a corner unit and in my opinion is far superior to any others in the complex. It stands over a reef that is home, in addition to a tremendous amount of sea life, to several very social (and large) sea turtles. The beach is essentially private to the complex and is pristine, as is the water. If you’re looking for peaceful, calm and relaxing “home base” in paradise I don’t know that anything better exists. If you’re even the least bit physical nearly anything you could want or need is within walking distance. Truly paradise! The icing on the cake is the owners. The Fosters push it across the line from “rental” to “home”. I’ve never stayed anywhere in my life and felt more welcome, more at home or more appreciated! They are genuine people that truly take pleasure in providing pleasure for and sharing pleasure with others. The only down side is a hotel room will always be a disappointment now. If I could have changed anything about the entire experience it would have been my departure date (again). We have stayed at Kahana Sunset Building A about 8 times and 2 of those times in this unit. Wow, has it really spoiled us! The corner unit is wonderful -- there is so much light in the unit and it is decorated beautifully. Gourmet kitchen facilities make cooking in a fun time. Our favorite time to visit is late February and early March over our anniversary when we can sit on either of the lanai and watch the humpback whales frolick in the ocean. We cannot hardly rent any other unit at the Kahana Sunset or even in Maui (even though we own a timeshare!) If we could own it, we would. It's like home away from home -- only in paradise.
