  The house was excellent, the grill, fish cleaning stands, and layout of the house were also great. The location was only two miles from where we were fishing, so it worked out very well.The neighborhood and neighbors were also first class. I and my customers (there were 6 guys staying at the house) will certainly stay there again. I would highly recommend the house for a family stay.

  Very nice accomodations just missing a few things such as fish cleaning station with water. Other than that I would recommend staying here and plan to do so again myself.

  My family and I had a fun and relaxing weekend. The camp is very spacious and attractive. My two year old grandson caught his first fish! We will definitely plan a weekend at this camp again.

  We had a blast! This place provided a peaceful, calm atmosphere for our children and their spouses, our grandchidren and friends, along with us, to spend time together as a family. We fished, played horseshoes, and cooked together for three days!! The camp was spacious and comfortable for our family. At times we could have used one more bathroom, but everything worked out just fine. Thanks for allowing us to use your property!!

  We had a great time in the house. Would have loved to find a boat rental area, but there are none, so if you want to fish, you will need to fish in the many open areas, or get a guide. Hackberry is remote, so go for family time. We met our 2 daughters, grandson and son-in-law from Texas. Caught up on all the news and generally had fun. The porch was a wonderful area to sit and talk.

  If you are not from the Gulf Coast area and want to try something different for the Holidays (or any time, for that matter), this is it! All you need is your clothes, your food and your family and friends. Everything else is already there. The house is spacious enough to accomodate a large group and is outfitted very nicely. There's phone and Internet service, if you just have to do some work... but who would want to. Fishing action is always active somewhere close by, and the neighbors are always willing to help you find 'em. And if you're a hunter... that's pretty good, too! I took my wife, my son and his wife and my grandson here for a fishingThanksgiving 2011. Although we experienced a couple of cold, rainy days, the trip on the whole was outstanding... Caught loads of fish and viewed some beautiful scenery on Lake Calcasieu, the Gulf and the Sabine National Forest either boating or by car. A great stay at a great place! By far, one of the best Thanksgivings we ever had! Thanks, Red Shark!

  We loved the place! For 12 women it was very clean, private, affordable, quite, comfortable, and relaxing. A home away from home. Everything you need. Loved the big screen TV to watch the LSU football game. Pictures just don't show the beauty of this place! Neighborhood was great for a good walk and the people very friendly. So nice didn't need to leave to go anywhere. We had a great time! Thanks again!! Will tell all our friends and family!

  My husband and I needed a place due to a death in the family. The drive for us is 11 hours so we decided to make it a week long trip. Looking at a motel was just disheartening. We had used VRBO before for Cocoa Beach, Florida and had great success with it. If you need a place in Hackberry - this is the one. The pictures really don't do it justice. The bedrooms are huge. The master has a closet that any woman would die for. Master bath has a two-head shower and seperate jet tub. The other bedrooms were extremely spacious and beds large enough for us extra large Texans. The kitchen has great appliances and plenty of storage space. The house even has a propane grill for your use. The neighbors are very friendly. We will definitely rent it again. So grab your crab net and don't forget to visit the Hackberry Mall.   I stayed here in July 2011 and the house is great for a weekend of fishing. There is a boat launch at the end of the street and both live bait shops are less then 10 minutes by boat. We had a great weekend and will definitely be back.
