Tundra Bob's Cabin on Kasilof River

Located on the glacier-fed, salmon-running Kasilof River, Tundra Bob’s is the cozy cabin that is perfect for the Alaskan Experience. You can have all the peace and quiet that this secluded cabin offers or if you’re ready for adventure you are not too far from the highway or trail that will take you to it.
The interior is brand spanking new but Bob recycled the siding from the original homesteader’s cabin on the site. The wide covered porch offers a great spot to relax and watch the river run and tell fish stories. There is also a partially covered deck with a picnic table and a grill to cook up the day’s catch. A stairway leads you down to the river where you can cast your line.
Stepping inside Tundra Bob’s Cabin, you enter the comfy living and dining area where satellite TV and WiFi are provided. To the right is the completely equipped kitchen and the Mermaid bathroom. Up the stairs to the bedroom where the sound of the running river will lull you to sleep on the queen bed or the twin trundle bed. No matter what room you are in, there are plenty of windows to provide panoramic gazing at life on the river and in the forest.

Great place to stay. Breakfast goodies too good to be true. Warm and welcoming place, well maintained, beautiful views of the Kasilof River. Everything you could wish for and then some. Linens, bed, beyond our expectations. Would definitely return and highly recommend to anyone.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My husband, son and I stayed two nights. Our flights were delayed, but the owners allowed us to change our reservation with no problem. The cabin is new and has everything you need, or don’t' need. They had the best apple cinnamon bread (I didn’t need to eat most it!), along with more breakfast stuff we have at home:) The beds were comfortable, but my favorite was the deck and porch chairs. The view of the river is amazing!! We did see moose in the field next to the cabin. Bob and Gail are very kind and willing to answer any questions we had. I will be recommending the cabin to anyone looking to fish in Alaska.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Location
Owner info
Year Purchased: 1993
About the owner: Since our children had begun lives of their own we moved to Alaska from California in 1990. Bob has been a drywall contractor for 40+ years and Gail just retired after teaching for 15 years in California and 22 years in Alaska. We were following Bob's lifelong dream.
Why the Owner Chose Kasilof:
We flew up one weekend after Gail was offered a teaching job to find a house. Gazing out the living room window of a house we were checking out, we watched a moose swim across the river. That did it...we made an offer which was accepted and we've been here ever since.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Relax with the view of the river. Fish or watch the bald eagles, moose and other wild life that pass through.
