Crescent Beach townhome description
This three-story Spanish style townhouse with characteristic red tile roof is right on the ocean in Crescent Beach, just a few miles south of St. Augustine Beach on Anastasia Island, and best of all, only 15 minutes from Interstate 95. It’s in a primarily residential area with private homes and low-rise condominiums nearby. Because it is located in a residential area, the beach is never crowded and you can always find a place to stake your umbrella. The beach here is wide, soft white sugar sand, and always clean. The water is crystal clear and you can see the sandy bottom. As you go across the dune walkover, you can see what appears to be an endless stretch of white sand to the north and south and you will quickly feel like you are living on Island Time. The dune walkover has built-in seating and tables for enjoying the evening breeze and view of the ocean and gently swaying sea oats. There is nothing as calming and beautiful as the full moon and stars reflecting from a calm ocean.
After a day at the beach or the pool, you will feel like you’ve moved to the tropics. As you step on the cool Mexican tile floor of the townhouse, you are surrounded by cool hues of turquoise and green and tropical furniture. The top two floors of the townhouse comprise the living area with a covered balcony overlooking the beautiful Atlantic on the second floor. Below is a fully enclosed, private two-car garage.
St. Augustine lays claim to being the oldest city in the United States, being founded in 1565. Many of the original structures built by the Spanish conquistadores are still standing and open to the public, including the two original Spanish forts, original schoolhouse and jail. There are restaurants too numerous to count, many of which are situated on either the Intracoastal Waterway or the Atlantic Ocean. The selection ranges from local seafood eateries to upscale gourmet restaurants. A large pedestrian shopping area is home to many local artists’ shops as well as the local nightlife. For a great view of the entire area, you can visit the top of St. Augustine's famous lighthouse...and no trip to St. Augustine would be complete without checking out the Alligator Farm. With all of these local attractions and the Orlando theme parks and Kennedy Space Center just 90 minutes away, this is a great location for family vacations.
If you are in the mood for action, there are many locations nearby where boats, jet skis, kayaks and the like are available for rent. There are quite a few public golf courses , including World of Golf, and also public tennis facilities. If these activities are not for you, try can go bicycling, wind-surfing, surfing or even fishing -- only steps from your front door.
Available year-round. Check in 4PM. Check out by 11AM. Our Property Manager will process rental agreement, check-in, check-out, and approved refund of security deposit.

Extremely uncomfortable condo offered very poor vacation experience
Extremely uncomfortable condo offered very poor vacation experience
I have been staying at this complex almost every summer for about 15 years now and I can say that staying at this condo was the absolute worst experience. First of all, the furniture is all cheap bamboo and extremely uncomfortable. I would characterize it as cheap yard sale furniture. The master bedroom bed sagged and, despite the mattress pad, left us with bad backaches after our stay. The main level tile floor appeared dirty and was uncomfortable to walk on. The carpet upstairs was old and dirty. The master bedroom had a musty / moldy smell that we could not really track down. The condo was advertised as sleeping 6 but the foldout sofa was badly broken and would not pull out, so the condo really only slept 4. One member of our family was forced to sleep on this broken uncomfortable bamboo sofa for a few days of our two week stay before a cot was provided (not much better). The owners knew of this situation prior to our arrival and neglected to inform us of the broken sofa and reduction in sleeping capacity. Please do yourself a favor and select a condo that will offer more comfortable accommodations.

Manager response: We are sad to hear this family had an uncomfortable experience in our oceanfront home. We will address their complaints, but would like to let everyone know these complaints have not been shared by previous renters, many of whom are repeat occupants. Up to date photos of the decor were available on the website clearly displaying the tile floor and rattan furniture. The furniture and flooring selections are in keeping with the casual Floridian island theme and we believe they add to the relaxed ambiance of the home. These same furnishings are currently available in stores specializing in better casual furniture and are very popular, as they contribute to the beach feel. We were told the pull out mechanism on the sleeper sofa had broken at the beginning of July and we immediately ordered a replacement sleeper sofa. The new sofa was to have been delivered prior to the arrival of this family. Due to circumstances at the factory, the delivery of the sleeper sofa was delayed, but is now in place. Upon learning the delivery was delayed, we were unable to rent a sleeper sofa, but did obtain a roll away bed for their child. We gladly absorbed this cost in addition to providing an additional discount to our tenant for his child's discomfort. All told, this family was given a considerable discount from the normal rental rates and we believe we did everything we could to correct the sleeping situation. We have not had previous complaints about the other bedding, the carpets or miscellaneous odors. We are currently staying in the unit and have noticed no odors other than the welcome smells of the ocean and salty air, all part and parcel of living oceanfront. The mattress in the master bedroom is firm, does not sag, and has a removeable memory foam topper on it for extra comfort. As noted, there have been no prior complaints. The carpeting in the upstairs bedrooms is only a few years old and shows minimal wear. Both the carpet and the tile are regularly cleaned. The handmade terra cotta Mexican tile is considered by most to be an upgrade with its natural gradations of color. The grout was specifically colored a dark tone to blend in so it would not discolor with age or spills. Our goal is to provide a casual island retreat away from city life. Not everyone has the same taste, and this family clearly does not prefer the island style. We have many repeat tenants, some going back five years who love the home - hopefully you will too.
Great Condo - Wonderful Beach
Great Condo - Wonderful Beach
We stayed the week before Memorial Day, before the summer rush. The condo is conveniently; located off of I-95 just south of St. Augustine. Close enough to make it an easy trip to St. Augustine for dinner or shopping but far enough not to be elbow to elbow on the beach. The condo was very nice with a garage big enough for two cars. A well equipped kitchen and nice living room and dining room areas are on the first floor. Bedrooms up stairs were very comfortable with TVs in each. The master bedroom has a large window that looks out over the ocean. Owner provided cable and Wi-Fi internet. A washer and dryer are in the garage along with some beach equipment. Decore was appropriately beachy. The complex has a tennis court and a swimming pool. There was never any congestion at either. The beach is just over the private boardwalk over the dunes and the boardwalk is next to the condo building. Near the dunes, the beach is fluffy white sand; near the ocean it is flat packed sand ideal for skim boarding, bocce ball, walking, biking, etc. The beach is deep and slopes gradually into the water making it easy to wade out into the waves. The waves were just large enough to boogie board when we were there. As for the area, St. Augustine is a great time, a short drive to Jacksonville and 2 hours to Daytona Beach. There are plenty of options to have fun or relax. The restaurants are great. We went to O’Steen’s for fried fish and Columbia for authentic Cuban. Both were great. And if you want to stay close, just 2 miles from the condo is another great restaurant called the South Beach Grill. All in all, a great trip.

Our stay at the Spyglass condo was excellent. Great access to the beach, restaurants, pool, tennis and golf. The condo itself is very well maintained with all essentials and some percs. Internet access was not expected but appreciated. The owner was very helpful and responsive to all of our questions and inquiries. I would recommend this condo to family and friends. We like it so much we return as often as possible.

About: My husband and I have long wanted a place where we could go to escape the pressures and fast pace of life in the city. We live in Atlanta, and before that, Philadelphia. For many years we vacationed at the Florida beaches and we are both from the south. The ideal vacation for us is far away from the traffic and the noise at a place where we can sit and read or just enjoy the fresh air without having to be constantly involved in some activity. That said, we like to play golf and tennis and participate in many other sports, and be able to have a nice meal away from home on occasion. The St. Augustine area provides all of this for us. Unfortunately for us, we both work and cannot spend as much time at the beach as we would like. Fortunately for others, this allows an opportunity for us to share our little piece of paradise with other families who just want to get away from it all.
Why Crescent Beach:
My husband and I vacationed in beach and resort areas for several years, and loved the time we spent at the beach. After many years we decided to look for a vacation home of our own. Over a period of three years or so we looked at many properties in the South Carolina beach resorts and east coast of Florida, and finally decided on Spyglass. We chose to purchase this particular townhouse because it is direct ocean front in a smaller, well-maintained complex with excellent access to all amenities and we loved the Spanish architecture and tropical looking grounds. We share a stairway with only one other unit, allowing for more security and privacy. There are no extra people walking by our townhouse and looking in windows or doors. Another deciding feature was the large two-car garage, which protects our automobiles and personal belongings. Another key factor was easy access…Spyglass is only 6 miles away from I-95, so in less than 15 minutes of leaving the interstate, you can literally be on the beach. There are several year-round residents at Spyglass looking out for the best interests of the property and a very responsible property manager who ensures the grounds and and buildings are well-maintained at all times. Access to the beach is private and the community is several miles away from the more densely populated condominiums and commercial areas.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
The single most satisfying benefit of being in this beach community is simply being at the beach. Once you cross the bridge onto the island, everything slows down and life is more relaxing. Sitting on the balcony or on the beach and just watching and listening to the waves is one of the most peaceful pastimes imaginable.
