I brought my group of ladies from our small group at church-- and we have a GREAT time. One deciding factor (besides price) to choose this rental (seems small but was big to me) was that they had a center pedestal table and ALL of us women fit comfortably around that table with no one straddling a table leg! They were well equipped in the kitchen with silverware and serving utensils etc. Only thing I wished for was my electric skillet while making pancakes for the group! The new leather couch was AWESOME. Cleanliness: the place was clean, not perfect, but fine/acceptable. Sat after dawn (GREAT view of sunrise!) I left the duplex to find 15 deer (2 families) hanging out at the road (still in neighborhood), and several RAN with me as I drove out! The location can't be beat. Oh, one thing pics don't show, FYI, is that you access the converted rec room (former garage) through outside door that faces the beach (located under the deck, which was fine, but just FYI.) It was a tiny bit cold that weekend, so we did not use the downstairs rec room, but looked like a great space for kids and families. Even though we had 9 of us, amazingly, the main floor and top floor with the rooms did not seem overcrowded. We will be back!!! Thank you so much!!!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

I found this property to be very clean and had many nice amenities, including wide screen TVs, game console and DVD players. HS internet was available and all cooking utensils were supplied. The location of the property is excellent and it is situated on the nicest part of the island. It is truly beach front and the view from the master bedroom and living is breath taking. One other key factor for our stay is that is non-smoking and it was very, very clean. I would recommend this property to any who wants a quit location with a beautiful view of the ocean.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The property is spacious, beautifully decorated and well maintained. It was also very clean. Enjoyed my stay. Really enjoyed watching the sun rise in the mornings and seeing the moon shine on the water right outside our windows. There were plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms and the space in the garage with games and Wi would be great for kids.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I had an absolutely amazing experience staying here! The view was incredible, and the overall atmosphere of the house was calming and homey. We really enjoyed rocking in the rocking chairs, enjoying the breathtaking sunsets every night, and conveniently walking out onto the beach through the private beach access. One evening we actually saw an amazing sunset on one end of the beach, while taking in a bright full moon on the other. Just like day and night, I have never seen that anywhere else. The house is also kid friendly with the cutest play pit, which is actually quite comfortable for a mini nap. The location was also great. It is conveniently located close to town, but still has the private beach house feel to it. I would highly recommend staying here, it is wonderful for anyone! Deserves more than 5 stars!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I enjoyed a brief Christmas vacation at Cassimir East. Fantastic rental property. The listing photos are accurate and reflect the rental's appearance and amenities. The bedrooms are large and the beds are comfortable. The common area has a nice leather sectional and additional seating enough for everyone to gather. Relaxed atmosphere. Great location. The beach is wide and the perfect place to walk if you love to walk on the beach. Now... My favorite .... The Beautiful Sunset. Sit back and relax on one of the balconies and enjoy the show. Yes,I would definitely recommend this property to a friend.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

The house is lovely. The location was perfect. The house could use some updating, but the owners seem to be doing a little at a time. The new bonus room in the garage with the big screen TV is awesome, it could use an AC or fan to keep it comfortable. The new leather couch in the living room is very comfortable. My family and I enjoyed our 2 week stay, and would like to make a return visit!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Ann, We are so glad that you enjoyed your two weeks at Cassimir East this past summer! We are excited for the continued upgrades that are taking place this off-season. When you return, you'll notice a brand new exterior paint job among other upgrades. We are looking into AC for the game room downstairs as we continue to transform that space. Thank you for your insightful feedback. We look forward to hearing from you soon to reserve your next stay.

We stayed in this property for a week while our friends rented the other side of the duplex. Overall we we very pleased with the property and had a great vacation. The location right on the beach is very convenient and made it very easy for the kids to play at the beach while allowing everyone easy access to the house for bathroom breaks, lunch, etc. The beach was clean and the waves were good for body surfing and boogie boarding, but not too large so as to be overly dangerous. One of the sea turtles had laid her eggs on the beach and that provided an interesting nature lesson for our kids. Unfortunately the eggs did not hatch before we left. The house itself if well laid out for the most part and comfortable. The main LR/DR/kitchen area worked well for us and we found the furnishings to be above average for a rental. The upstairs bedrooms were large and the mattresses were comfortable for us. There are TVs in all bedrooms and in the LR , but only the one in the LR is a flat screen with HD. The others are old, small tube TVs. The house was overall clean for a rental, but not as clean as we keep our own house. We did see a few places where the cleaners had missed food, dirt, dust, etc on the floors and furniture. The carpet looked reasonably new, but was somewhat dirty in the LR. The kitchen was generally well equipped, though we are used to cooking on a gas cooktop with a hood that vents to the outside, not an electric cooktop with a vent that does nothing but recirculate air. That meant the house was smelly after we cooked bacon or the fish we caught on our fishing trip. The decor of the house seemed overly beach chic and was showing its age. Likewise with the fixtures in the baths were perfectly adequate but showing their age. The exterior of the house needs updating. The paint is badly faded and chipped and the deck is also showing its age. The neighboring houses looked to be in better repair. (Note that our friends stayed in the West side and there was a roof leak in the master bath and there was water damage to the ceiling over the DR). The garage recreation room was a nice feature for our kids, but there is NO ventilation there other than leaving the garage doors open, so most days they chose not to play there. A window AC or at least a ceiling fan would make the room much more functional. Also, we could not figure out hot to get HD on the 55" TV, so we did not watch TV there (a shame since it was Olympics week).Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: John, We are so glad that your family joined us in Emerald Isle this past summer! What an amazing experience getting to see the sea turtles! We truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us prioritize upgrades and amenities. Over the course of the off-season this year we have continued to improve Cassimir East, which included a new exterior paint job and new flat screen TVs to replace all tube TVs, among other things. As we continue to enhance the brand-new game room, we love the idea of adding AC and will be looking into that. Can't wait to have you guys return to Cassimir East!

About: Cassimir East is owned by a pair of business partners, Jane & Susi, looking to share their love of Emerald Isle and have a little fun on the side! 'Born & Bred in North Carolina. I have always enjoyed the beach. My two children and I spent a lot of time in Emerald Isle, when they were small. It is so peaceful there - every single mom needs a quiet retreat to charge her batteries or regain her sanity. I have recently returned to the area and really enjoy my new home. My favorite thing about Cassimir East, which is rather unique, is that the unit faces due south. You can enjoy a steaming cup of coffee on your private balcony while watching the sunrise or the dolphins play in the surf, and you can enjoy a nice glass of wine from the deck over looking the waves while enjoying the sunset. There's a lot to discover on the Crystal Coast, but I always look forward to the slow pace, great food, and southern hospitality at its finest.' - Jane (pictured) Susi has owned Cassimir East since 2005. Susi moved to NC in 1992 (family home in Indiana) and searched the coast of North Carolina for many years. She just kept coming back to Emerald Isle! She and her family have enjoyed many holidays (mostly off season) and highly recommend spending Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Valentine’s Day at the beach.
Why Emerald Isle:
Jane: 'Emerald Isle is in a convenient location, just a short drive from Raleigh, NC and easy to get to. There is a good balance of local culture and commercial development. You can't beat the slow pace and friendly atmosphere of the Crystal Coast.'
Susi: 'Coming from the Midwest, the closest largest bodies of water were the Great Lakes…. So naturally living on the east coast the ocean was a big attraction. The first several years we visited numerous beaches along the NC coast. I fell in love with Emerald Isle the first time we vacationed there….and after trying several different beaches we would always return to Emerald Isle. E.I. is a great quiet family beach with lots of fun things to do, such as miniature golf, go-karting, shopping, movies, fishing, boating, great places to eat, golfing, and walking and biking paths.
I wanted to buy property in Spinnakers Reach because of it’s great reputation, always being well-maintained, colorful homes, relaxed atmosphere and just everyday happy vacationers. Emerald Isle is a nice, quiet, resort town and just a great place to be… I love watching the dolphins from the master suite every month of the year… Come experience the magic!!'
The Unique Benefits at this House:
'Cassimir East is fortunate to not only be oceanfront, but also have exclusive private beach access. My absolute favorite part is the private balcony from the master bedroom. Nothing beats leaving the door open and letting the natural sounds of the waves put you to sleep. Also, the two car garage is great for large families.' - Jane
Susi has seen dolphins every month of the year and says, “It just does not get any better than waking up in the morning and gleefully seeing the dolphins from the master balcony. I love coming to the beach and seeing the major changes that occur in the seascape…. Sometimes the sand is high and covers part of the private walkway, sometimes particularly after a storm, little water inlets form, and everything seems so fresh and new.”
“Walking the beach is a favorite! Almost 6 miles round-trip to the fishing pier…it is so enjoyable to walk to the pier, sit on the pier and read a book and/or watch the fisherman. Walking to the right is about a mile down and a mile back to the Point.”
