  A photo can never capture the grandeur of this condo and it's surroundings! Immaculate, is the word to describe how this place appeared when we arrived. This was our first trip to Durango and we thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful 5 day vacation. It was great to go ski and snowboard and then just walk up to the condo for lunch and rest. So convenient! The workers at the Durango Mountain Resort were so nice and always willing to help! We recommend a trip on the D & SNG Train and we loved the snow mobile tour we went on with ICE PIRATES so much we went back the next day for a second run! I was not sure the accomodations would be large enough for five adults and one teenager, but there was plenty of room! The layout of this condo is great, and the kitchen was very user friendly, we only ate out two times. We highly recommend this particular condo and we will definitely book this same one for out next trip to the Mountain!

  My 8 year old son and I had an awesome time during our recent stay at Purgatory Lodge. While mom stayed home we had a great father-son weekend, repleat with the adventures of zip lining, the alpine slide, bungee jumping, and golf. The accommodations provided were outstanding.   Our first visit to Durango was a wonderful experience for our family. What made the trip so exceptional was our decision to stay at Purgatory Lodge in this gorgeous condo located on the fourth floor with breath taking views from the spacious balcony. The description of the condo and the photo's on the VRBO website is exactly what you find when you arrive. A beautiful, well appointed, exquisitly maintained and decorated condo with every amenity you could imagine to make your stay feel like you were at the Ritz. This condo is very comfortable in every regard, and the well appointed kitchen has everything you need to prepare a light breakfast or a 7 course meal if you desire. It has serving for 12 and loads of refirgerator space to keep perishables for an army. I recommend this condo and will look forward to a return visit in the coming years. If you have not experienced Durango in the summer, give it a try, you won't be disappointed. The Durango to Silverton Train was the highlight of our trip, but driving to Ouray was wonderful as well. If you elected to stay close to the lodge, you have the opportunity to ride the ski lift to the top of the mountain, or cruise the ski slope on a sled which our son absolutely loved. The lodge offered bungee jumping, mechanical bull riding and a rock cllimbing wall. There is a zip line that is at this writing, open to add to the activities that are offered on property. The shopping mall on the plaza level of the lodge has gift shops, a deli, liquor store, a mountain bike rental for cruising down the slope, a great spa, lounge and restaurant. At night we went down to the heated pool and spa. What a way to unwind after a busy day of touring and fun. Enjoy a glass of wine around the gas fireplace or on the balcony. Put in your favorite DVD and enjoy a movie. When it is time for lights out, the beds are so comfortable that you will have no trouble getting a good night sleep. Keep the window cracked though to enjoy the cool evening breeze. We hope to return soon to this condo during the winter and try our hand at skiing.

  A beautiful, well-equipped condo with gorgeous views of the Needle Mtns, a small balcony/patio with seating allows views of the lift area as well. The interior is top-rate with great flow and amenities for our extended family ski vacation. The location is superior with easy slope access. This condo has everything you will need for your vacation and the rental company was thorough and provided excellent and quick communication. We will certainly return for future trips to Durango Mtn/Purgatory resort.

  This was our best ski trip ever! This is a beautiful new 3 br/3 bath condo right on the slopes. This worked out great as it snowed the whole time we were there so we didn't have to worry about driving to the slopes each day. Can ski right up to a card access locker area to store skis and be up in the room with no effort. There was a private game room for the guests with pool table, foosball and video games that we used daily and an outdoor hot tub we used to relax in each evening. I was skeptical of an outdoor hot tub but it was really neat to sit in the hot tub while it was snowing and wasn't even that cold getting in and out. There is also an outdoor heated pool with a slide the kids used. The condo was decorated very nicely, all the furniture and beds were new. It has a full kitchen which we used to to cook all of our meals. We cooked in but there are very good restaurants available. This condo is up on the fourth floor so there are great views of the slopes and the surrounding mountains from the balcony. Would definitely recommend this condo!!!
