Thank you to our wonderful hosts for providing such an enchanting place to stay. It was hard to leave the cottage and its beautifully peaceful surroundings to take advantage of the local shops, restaurants, bike trails and other attractions. We loved everything about the weekend and would recommend it to anyone. The pictures didn't do it justice! And they certainly don't convey the incredible sense of local history you get when staying there. Thanks again.

Had a comfortable, accommodating stay at the cottage. There is so much to see and do in New Hope and the surrounding area...shopping, art, fabulous scenery, history, great restaurants, etc. etc. Our host and hostess were wonderful...personable and full of interesting stories about the area that will make your stay that much better.

Our friends stayed in one cottage and my husband and I in the other. They were both very clean and well-appointed. The tiny village had loads of charm. Our hosts, Eleanor and Kurt were extremely friendly and helpful. New Hope was very close by. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend this rental.

We were so impressed when we first saw the cottage and the little village that surrounds it. It was well tucked away so no one could find us, as if we had stepped into a storybook. The gardens were beautiful, the area was extremely quiet and afforded us the perfect weekend away from it all. The cottage was well equipped and extremely clean, it was a great value. We were able to ride our bikes along the canal path, which was extremely accessible, and were a stone's throw from the towns of New Hope and Lambertville. The owners were extremely helpful in getting us settled and clued us in on the Friday night fireworks that happen in the summertime (quite a nice display!). This was a perfect romantic getaway, we didn't want to leave.

From the moment we rounded the corner and walked into the beautiful cluster of cottages we felt like we had entered a fairytale setting. The cottage was charming, clean and so thoughtfully put together that we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and truly enjoyable. The gardens were beautiful and the evenings with the torches lit were romantic and enchanting. Eleanor and Kurt are outstanding hosts. Not only did they ensure we had everything we needed, they were a joy to get to know. Even though we could have prepared our own dinners, the close proximity to Lambertville and New Hope and the great restaurants in these towns provided us the opportunity to experience an outstanding, varied cuisine. In some instances we got take-out to eat in the gardens outside our cottage. There is so much to do in the area, and yet, we were drawn back to the cottage, the gardens, the birds and a place where relaxation was truly possible. Thank you, Eleanor and Kurt.

Owner response: Thank you for your very kind words. That was very thoughtful of you. We so enjoyed having you here and getting to know you also. Please let us know where you finally settle down. In the mean time, have a wonderful Summer. All the best, Kurt and Eleanor

We arrived on May 25th greeted by Kurt and his beautiful mother Eleanor. A tour of the of grounds and the aroma of blossoming honeysuckle set the tone for our weekend of romance and reconnection. Friday evening was spent in the bustling town of New Hope. We enjoyed microbrews at Triumph, shopping, a band along the river and a fantastic display of fireworks over the Delaware river. Saturday morning we ventured to Lovin from the Oven in Frenchtown. My husband the "anti-organic vegetable meat eater" stated it was the best breakfast ever. He had an open-face egg sandwich with a tomato slice that tasted fresh from the garden. I enjoyed the quiche and fruit salad. The restaurant was quaint, wholesome, and reviving. Next stop was the Old York Cellars winery in Ringoes. Knowledgable and friendly staff enticed us to enjoy several white wines and of course purchases. Shopping at the Stockton Farmers Market proved to be a treasure...fresh asparagus, kale, radishes, breads and cheese! Lambertville Station provided a lunch that could not be surpassed. As the storms rolled in, we enjoyed a blissful nap under the skylights in the cottage. A trip to Buck's County can not be complete without a shopping excursion at the Peddlers Village. We enjoyed a classy dinner at Earl's. History abounds in the area shared by Pennsylvania and New Jersey! We enjoyed sitting in the gardens at Gothic Cottage taking in the sights and sounds. You will not be disappointed by renting this delighttful historic cottage!

Owner response: Thank you. We love to hear about your stay. Now in July, the honeysuckle is still blooming! Hope to see you again soon. Have a great Summer, Kurt

We were looking for a special place for a relaxing weekend to celebrate our 31st anniversary, and the Gothic Cottage was absolutely perfect. The setting is serene, the hosts are gracious and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and their recommendations for restaurants, places to visit, etc. were spot on. We had a lovely weekend biking along the Delaware River, visiting art shows, poking around quaint towns, and dining at terrific restaurants. As VRBO owners ourselves, we fully appreciate the care the owners take in maintaining a very special property and experience for their guests. We will be back with friends.

This place was just as wonderful as all of the reviews promise. The photos do not do the place justice. It was a very cozy, small cottage, but perfect for our family of 2 adults, and a small infant. The kitchen was simple, but worked for cooking basic breakfasts. We appreciated the Keurig coffee maker in the morning, with k-cups provided by the gracious hosts! We took lovely walks along the canal path and enjoyed the beginnings of the Fall foliage. The owners went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We cannot wait to return and recommend the place highly.

What a beautiful place to spend a 30th anniversary weekend. Kurt and Eleanor were the perfect hosts that willingly gave of themselves to whatever you needed. They were very quick to help in any way they could, providing us with information on places to visit and all the good places to eat. The village itself was small and very naturally elegant and very charming. Access to the bike path was right there and would take you to whichever little town you wanted to check out and explore. Thank you for your efforts Eleanor and Kurt for making "your little village" a special place to visit!

On our recent trip to visit family in New Jersey, we had the good fortune of staying in both cottages in the Gothic Village. Having decided to extend our visit, we were very swiftly and cheerfully accommodated by Kurt and Eleanor. We can assure you that, whichever cottage you choose, you will be comfortable and charmed. To begin, the grounds are just beautiful. In the English-style gardens, there are several tucked-away areas in which you can relax and enjoy the serene, romantic landscape and old world charm of the Gothic Village. Our own vacation was full of hustle and bustle, driving in from the midwest and then traveling each day to meet with family in New Jersey and explore the East Coast, so...coming home at night to a quiet, relaxed, and enchanting environment was just what we needed! Each night we found ourself dreaming of small ways in which we could recreate parts of this captivating hideaway at home! Eleanor and Kurt were not only affable hosts, but went out of their way to acquaint us with New Hope and the surrounding areas. Eleanor even made us her guests at the Friday night fireworks along the canal. She and Kurt are easy-going, hospitable, and very knowledgeable about the area. We couldn't have felt more at home, or found a better place to be during our vacation. There is so much to see and do nearby - next time we visit, we will definitely once again make the Gothic Village our home-away-from-home and make time to explore even more of what there is to offer so close by.

The gothic cottage is an easy escape to the peace and quiet of the countryside, perched right on the state border between pennsylvania and new jersey, it is close to three small towns (new hope, lambertville and stockton) which gives guests a wide choice in terms of shopping, dining and visiting -- or you can just choose to walk the canal/river and relax in the carefully nurtured english garden.. which is essentially what we did! Welcoming and friendly hosts, who are very attentive and the cottage itself was both beautifully furnished and immaculate. Thank you Eleanor and Kurt!

My fiancee and I spent a weekend at the Gothic Cottage and did NOT want to leave. From arrival to departure we were amazed by all the old-fashioned beauty on the site and were even more appreciative of it all after a tour from one of the two very welcoming, accommodating hosts that we had the pleasure of meeting. They were extremely sweet and kind and even were nice enough to bring us some still-warm cookies that were being baked during our stay. Located in New Hope, there are plenty of things to do in town, but we were more than content to sit outside and just enjoy the view. We just left yesterday and are already very much looking forward to returning to this lovely place where my girlfriend became my fiancee. Very much recommended by both of us!

Owner response: We enjoyed meeting you both and were so honored to find out that you chose our cottgage for such a special occasion. You are welcome back anytime. Much happiness, Kurt

We truly loved our stay at this delightful, immaculate, beautifully appointed and romantic cottage and would highly recommend the experience to everyone we know. It was as if we had traveled back to another more gracious and charming era. The cottage was even nicer than it appeared in the photos, and our hostess could not have been more charming or helpful. The New Hope area is full of wonderful restaurants and places to visit. We certainly will be going back again when our schedules allow. Thank you for a spectacular, perfect stay!

So charming and magical. It was like living in England. So many great restaurants nearby but the Inn in the village was our favorite. So convenient, just walked out our door through courtyards to the Inn for dinner. We sat next to the big roaring fireplace. So romantic. We hated to leave our cozy little cottage and will be back soon. So glad to hear that the Tudor Cottage will also be available soon. Then we will bring some friends to join us for the weekend and they'll be our neighbors in your Gothic village. Thanks again.
