Experience life in Paris from this lovely centrally located flat, in a well maintained, private, turn-of-the art deco century building (with elevator).
The flat is a spacious, very comfortable one-bedroom on the 4th floor. It is quite unique, warm, tastefully decorated, and well equipped. The bed is wonderfully large and comfortable with excellent quality sheets and duvet. The bathroom is well-sized and comes with shower/ bath combination.
The kitchen is classically equipped and charming with a small breakfast table. There is a separate dining table which seats 6 adjacent to the kitchen. The living room has a large sofa and armchairs. The entire flat is full of light....and has views of the rooftops of Paris (“sur les toits”).
The building faces onto a garden (green belt....great for walking and running) and is 7 minutes walk to ‘La Bastille’ (with excellent cafes and restaurants), 10 minutes walk to ‘Le Marais’ (shopping....cafes, restaurants, museums). Every Thursday and Sunday morning there is a large market just outside your front door : “La Marche Bastille”, where you can enjoy food shopping with Parisians.
This is a flat where you will feel completely ‘at home’.....and is an excellent base from which to enjoy life as a ‘Parisian’.

Amazing flat, great location in a real neighborhood but close to the tourist sites, charming and comfortable - plenty of space, wonderful experience overall. I would stay here again and will encourage all my friends to rent it as well. One of the best VRBOs I've ever used!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This bright and spacious apartment was situated close to two metro stops--Richard Lenoir and Oberkampf. The kitchen was well stocked and clean. The beds were unexpectedly comfortable and the living room and bedroom windows were furnished with black-out drapes, making it easy to sleep in after a late night. The window boxes were filled with blooming pansies. The building was very secure and there was a small elevator if you were burdened with groceries or luggage or too tired to walk up the four flights of stairs. The bathroom was clean and bright, with a small washing machine. (The tub was large and deep and there was no shower curtain, which could be a problem for the less agile, but it is pretty common over there.) The sofa in the living room was comfortable, but the two easy chairs (one in the bedroom and one in the living room) were not--too old, too low, and too small. Other than that, the apartment was cosy, secure, convenient, and pleasant to live in. There were several well-reviewed restaurants very close by and many many more within easy walking distance. There are Carrefours, Franprix, and Monop markets very close by. On Rue Oberkampf about two blocks away, there was a shop where you could buy whole cooked chickens and potatoes for a quick supper, and just a block or so further on, there was a Picard, where they sell only frozen food, French style. The apartment is unbelievably convenient to the Bastille area, the Marais, and the left bank, and a delight to people who want to walk. It is also easy to get to and from CDG, IF YOU ARE NOT OVER-LUGGAGED. If you are travelling with a small rolling carry-on or backpack, it is a cheap and easy trip to and from the airport. We really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen and comfortable beds, the overall cleanliness, and the location lead us to recommend this apartment to other travelers.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This property came as a recommendation to us from a work colleague of mine as being well located and an excellent option to stay if looking around Paris. The location was spot on being near two different Metro lines and two big street markets. There was also a small supermarket around the corner with a larger one about 5 minutes walk away. We were able to have several meals in using the kitchen facilities when we were too tired from sightseeing to venture out again. The apartment had everything you would need for a holiday including a washing machine and adequate drying facilities - we wouldn't have packed so much clothing had we known previous to travel. There was free wifi for the duration of the stay plus a stereo and TV which mostly went unloved as we were out a lot of the time. The apartment was clean and secure and the owner/manager couldn't have been more helpful especially as we had a major medical crisis shortly after arriving. There is a booklet available in the apartment listing recommended restaurants which are close and reasonably priced. Pretty much everything is within walking or Metro distance from a tourist perspective including a post office and teller machines. We are considering returning for a second stay and will certainly recommend this place to friends.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

I thought this apartment was a very good value. A great location, within a few blocks of two different Metro lines and an excellent shopping street, Rue Oberkampf. It was incredibly easy and cheap to get here from the airport via the RER train and Metro. The general neighborhood is not the least bit touristy and is filled with shops catering to working Parisians not tourists. With the smallest effort on your part you will feel right at home. The manager, Philippe, was great, responded quickly to my initial emails and was waiting at the apartment as promised when I arrived. My deposit was refunded to PayPal before I even got home. The apartment itself is spacious and has light from two directions which makes in very pleasant. The furnishings are basic and comfortable, not fancy. It felt like staying at a friend's house. The kitchen is a basic tiny French kitchen with well used appliances, perfectly adequate. Bed comfy and huge bedroom. The neighborhood itself is very quiet at night for the most part- it was winter so the windows were closed, maybe different in summer. The only caveat is that the upstairs neighbors were very noisy a few times. If you are a light sleeper, earplugs would not be a bad idea. I have rented much fancier and more basic apartments in Paris and thought this one was a good balance for the money. I would stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? As my wife said, it's spacious .light and airy. The apartment was very comfortable, roomy, and well decorated. Lots of light, flower boxes on the windows. A well equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a large tub, and an elevator to the fifth floor ( French fourth). A nice place to spend a rainy Sunday in Paris having a glass of wine while listening to 90.9 FM, the station that plays classic American jazz from the 50's and 60's. . The neighborhood was convenient to the Bastille/Marais/Oberkampf areas, and near stations to Metro lines 5 & 6. Philippe, the owner's rep was quite helpful, and sent us a full packet of information on the apartment and where to eat and shop in the hood. pick up a copy of the "Le Petit Lebey Bistrots Parisiens' and you can walk to half a dozen xcellent bistrots. We're going back in two years.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car.

We recently returned from Paris where we spent three weeks at this wonderful and quiet apartment in the Bastille area. The apartment is exactly as decribed and we enjoyed all it's features. We loved being able to do use the washer and do our own laundry. The kitchen is well equiped with a gas stove, fridge , microwave making it handy to cook small meals. One of the great features of the place is the bed... it's comfortable and large with plenty of room to spread out. Each room has beautiful large windows and we appreciated the colorful flowers which gave a lot of privacy as well. The views of the rooftops from each room gave the apartment the whole parisian feeling. The manager Philippe was very helpful even before our arrival giving us specific information about the neighbourhood. He answered all our questions and concerns. We appreciate his help. Another plus for this apartment is the location. Close to the metro, Bastille and if you like to walk you can catch Rue de Rivoli all the way to the Louvre Museum. We loved the Thursday and Sunday market just 5 minutes away from the apartment...it has everything from crepes to meat, fruit, rotiserie chicken, cheese patiserie items...it's great and a must see for everyone. We are highly recommending the apartment and we'll definitely go back when we return to France.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Roxana,,,, à bientôt,

My boyfriend and I rented this flat for a week in April. It is perfectly located in the 11th, near transportation, excellent shopping and easy for walking to all areas of central Paris, especially the Le Marais. There are wonderful cafés nearby, rue Oberkampf has great food shopping, there is a fantastic street market on Sunday and Thursdays right down the street that should not be missed (even if you do not intend to buy anything; it is a must see!), a franprix (grocery store) and health food store are located right across the street. The flat itself is very nicely furnished, airy and bright rooms, clean, eat-in kitchen and a dining table in the living room. Great views out onto the Paris rooftops; trés Parisien. There is a working elevator, but it is very tiny, so it is one person at a time, but many older Paris buildings don't even have a lift so this is a nice feature. The kitchen is adequate, although if you intend to do some real cooking it is not outfitted with many cooking utensils. However, it is great for heating things up, bringing pre-made foods in from the markets, that sort of thing. Decent fridge for your cheese, fruit, wine, etc. The building is secure and in a safe neighborhood. The neighbors are friendly. Philippe, the manager of the flat, is extremely kind and helpful. Please, heed any recommendations he may make regarding restaurants, shopping, and all things/concerns connected Paris living. He is spot on in all areas!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The apartment was exactly as described, if not better. Very spacious, charming, clean and light-filled. We didn't want to leave. The location can't be beat--near several Metro stations and a Velib bike station--and just a short walk to Canal St. Martin, the Marais and so many good restaurants. Philippe was a pleasure to work with, too, which made our stay even more enjoyable!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Very sweat. bon retour à NYC Merci beaucoup Philippe

What a delight -- this is a gem of an apartment. The apartment is well described in other reviews -- it's clean, spacious, and very comfortable. I wish I had that bed at home, and the windows! As for the location, it's central without being overrun at all -- coming from NYC, this is a bit of a miracle.... The hustle and bustle of the Marais, Oberkampf, and Bastille are just minutes away by foot, but the streets right around the apartment feel entirely laid back, "real," and inhabitable. There's great people watching from the promenade right across the street and coffee shop/tabac next door. Restaurants, bars, bakeries, food shops, etc. are plentiful. And importantly the area is very comfortable and safe. Lastly, Philippe was incredibly generous and kind during all stages of our trip. He went above and beyond in making us feel comfortable in the apartment and also helping me when I left something behind. He is quite a charming man. You are in safe hands!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

What a delight to get better acquainted with the 11eme, staying in this apartment. Loved the light, the spaciousness, the location (1 1/2 blocks from 2 Metro stops). The gentleman who manages the apartment is gracious, providing thorough and helpful notes about both the apt and the neighborhod. Immaculately clean, large rooms. Everything works. Nicely decorated. We were very happy with the choice and plan to return. Grateful that it was cozy and warm, with the temperature at a record low outside!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
