  My wife and I wanted a place go spend our one year anniversary. I briefly spoke with the owner who was quite prompt in answering my call. He was polite and very easy going and answered all my questions. Upon arrival my wife and I were as pleased as could be. Everything we had hoped for and more. This place has almost everything anybody could want. A nice bed. A large assortment of kitchen utinsles. So quiet and private. The view is beautiful however the ocean is quite far away but we expected that. Everything was clean and it felt like home away from home. Our dogs loved the enclosed deck out back and we really enjoyed the Pandora whole house stereo and the new spa. I just can't say enough. I have rented my share of vacation homes and this was by far the easiest and most satisfactory experience I have had. So much so that when the time comes to go back to this area we wouldn't even consider staying elsewhere. Finally I must say that the opportunity that the owner and the home give you to focus on making memories without worrying about ANYTHING else is priceless. We will be back. Oh and if it ever goes up for sale I'm gonna be putting my bid in. Thanks.

  This beautiful rustic little haven was even better than we had hoped. This place is in such a beautiful and tranquil setting in the redwoods. Very private, warm and rustic, but with a lot of light and windows. Beautiful wood, tile, stained glass and gorgeous spiral staircase which lead up to a beautiful master room. The master room has an amazing view through 3 very large windows, especially nice for watching the sky at night. For a small place, it was very functional and designed very well making it feel very "roomy" in all the right places. It had so many things important to us....deck, hot tub, large tub and shower, fire place, wi-fi, satellite w/ flat screen TV, and a unique collection of music CDs. We love to cook and the kitchen felt spacious and well designed and had a gas stove, but you may want to bring your own spice collection. It was exclusive and private, but right next to the ocean, Timer Cove Inn and a grocery store. It is cozy and meant for two and even though it is not on the beach, we could hear the crashing of the waves in the distance. We felt so relaxed and "at home". The outdoor fire pit was such a nice added feature. We will definitely be coming back soon!

  I booked this rental for a quick weekend retreat for my husband, baby and myself. It was only a couple hour drive from my home, so it was easy to get to for a quick weekend. We had never spent any time in the Timber Cove area and really enjoyed checking out Fort Ross, having breakfast at the Timber Cove Inn, and just generally relaxing. As for the rental, our highlight was the hottub that I was able to lower the temperature on and my baby and I spent bunches of time playing in. There were a couple of issues that we found with the rental itself. The biggest issue was the lack of blinds throughout the rental. It made it very difficult to get the baby to sleep but also it got very warm in the later parts of the day. For those of you without a small child, it probably isn't much of an issue. The other items that were a little difficult was that the tv was up in the bedroom and not easy to watch for us and the last issue was the bathtub. It is custom built but not great for taking a bath in and when taking a shower, the water gets all over the place. It looks pretty but is not very functional. All that said, it was a lovely little retreat and we really enjoyed it and would definitely come back, even with the few little quirks.

  The Artist's Retreat is a wonderful place to get away. You'll feel totally secluded in the middle of the forest where the only break in the trees affords a view of the ocean in the distance. To top it off, you can enjoy said view from a hot tub on the back deck. Definitely a romantic getaway. I can't say I was surprised to see so many people in the guest book that kept coming back year after year.

The seasonal rates listed are only applicable for January 5, 2013 -May 23, 2013. There is a three day minimum stay on US holiday weekends.

Fees:

• cleaning: $80 + tax
• Pet Fee: $0
• Tax Rate 9%

Cancellation policy:

Reservations must be paid in full to complete your booking. We accept, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or check. Cancellation policy: Two day rentals: If canceled more than 14 days before start of rental, all money returned, less than 14 days notice, renter forfeits all paid fees unless unit can be re-booked. Three + day rentals: If canceled more than 21 days before start of rental, all money returned, less than 21 days notice, renter forfeits all paid fees unless unit can be re-booked.
