Wonderful Mountain Home!
Wonderful Mountain Home!
My family has actually stayed in this home twice, and both weekends were wonderful. The house has a beautiful large kitchen, is well equipped and has that "home away from home" feel. The location is great with short-drive access to several hiking trails, to the amazing Nantahala Lake, and a fantastic little swimming hole is a short walk away. During both stays, the cabin was extremely clean, neat, and tidy. We will definitely return and would highly recommend to others!

Peaceful and Private
Peaceful and Private
The Pros - 1.) LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION - this home is secluded on a quiet dirt road close to may activities. (We stayed over Memorial day weekend and only saw a handful of cars!) 2.)The owners have a fun music collection to sort through. (We stayed up late playing monopoly and listening to 80's country) 3.)The kitchen rocks! Everything you could possibly need is there. We love to cook on our trips and have stayed in many a VRBO with only a can opener, sauce pan and an empty salt shaker. This was not the case here! 4.) The creek across the road was perfect for our four legged children - 2 legged children would probably enjoy it as well! 5.) The secure deck was also a benefit for us to relax on and it gave the dogs a place to roam - safely. 6.) THE BED! My husband and I are terrible sleepers and we almost always end up in separate bedrooms while on vacay - but not this time! The bed was so super comfy we were saddened to leave it in the mornings. The Cons - The only thing that kept me from giving this a higher rating was the cleanliness. It was not the cleanest home we have rented but after giving it a good once over with the broom and disinfectant it was ready to go! (I think it just needs a little TLC) But I saved the biggest pro for last - The Owners! The were incredibly quick to respond to emails before and during the rental. The were super nice and helpful. I really don't think they were aware of some of the hygiene issues in the home as they quickly apologized when I brought a couple of things to their attention. Would we stay here again? YES! And you probably should too!

Year Purchased: 2003
About the owner: My wife, Kathy and I bought this lovely cabin in 2003. We had searched southwestern North Carolina and east Tennessee for 10 years. We fell in love with this area and hope you will too. It's a great change for us from the heat of central Florida and we spend as much time here as possible. We truly enjoy boating and fishing on the lake as well as rafting the river.
Why the Owner Chose Nantahala:
We chose this location after 10 years of looking. It offers everything we were looking for and then some. Boating, fishing, rafting and yet a short drive to Bryson City, Cherokee and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The Appalachian Trail is nearby and the Bartram Trail is less than a 1/4 mile away.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We love sitting on the porch in the morning with a cup of coffee, listening to the sounds of the creek and watching all the bird and other wild life. The cabin offers relief from our every day hectic world and provides the opportunity for you and your family to truly enjoy the great outdoors. There is level parking in front of the cabin for your boat, camper or RV and if you can't get away from it, wi-fi is available.
