The house is bigger than we expected. Three couples, plus our two grandchildren, fit easily with space and privacy for all. The view from the living room is fantastic: several small capes, rocks awash in the surf, and two seastacks. While there, we saw deer across the street, wild turkeys down the road, whales spouting, and a hummingbird in the garden. All this in December. I would like to say the kitchen is as well equipped as ours at home, but that would require stocking up our kitchen at home. Whatever we needed for cooking, they provided two. Greg & Michelle obviously pride themselves on this. The home is close (5 minutes) to shopping in Gualala, and central to all the wonderful and varied beaches of Mendicino and Sonoma Counties. Greg & Michelle even provide a pass for the Sonoma beaches. (Mendicino beaches are free.) We had a wonderful Christmas, thanks at least in part to this fantastic home.

My mom was coming to visit from the east coast so myself and her two sisters who live out here wanted to rent a house in Gualala. I was simply looking for something that was pet friendly and had enough space and bedrooms since they all snore! The house was that and sooooo much more. Besides the space and pet friendliness of the house the amenities were never ending! They did not miss a step! everything from the hot tub to the to the picnic basket and cooler. It was like putting your own home in an amazing setting. They had everything! My aunts and I have rented many house in Gualala but this by far was the best and most well-kept. Michele and Greg and so sweet and easy to work with. They left a basket of goodies on the table and a bottle of wine in the fridge for us which really made us feel welcomed. There were simple instructions in various places in the house which made a lot of things a whole lot easier. My deposit was returned to me promplty (less then a week). I would definately recommend this house and will stay here again!

Thank you for the wonderful stay at Seacroft. The views were outstanding and we didn’t have to go anywhere outside for the beach views. The house itself was spacious and well stocked with all the amenities we honestly didn’t expect to see. The town itself is a very charming place and we hope to come back in the future.

We very much enjoyed our week in your lovely rental. We have rented several other properties and yours was the most welcoming and best stocked. We appreciated the welcome basket and wine - unexpected and delightful! We enjoyed the hot tub and deck chairs and the stars at night. We also enjoyed the beautiful views of the ocean – even in the fog. Wish we could have stayed longer than a week. If we make the trip north again, we will look to rent from you next time, too!

Four of us stayed her toward the end of July, and could not have been more pleased. Every detail was tended to, every amenity was thought of by the owners. Accommodations were very spacious--we had the entire top floor and our friends had the entire lower level. We could heat the space or cool it down easily. The hot tub was clean and easy to use, nice and hot (as was the grill). The large living room is spacious and comfy with views to the rolling waves. From our place we spent leisurely beach time at a remote, quiet spot along the Gualala River or walked the Breezy stretches of beach along the ocean. We rented kayaks in Mendocino for a wonderful paddle up the Big River. We drove the scenic ride to wine country which included exploring the old growth redwoods in Hendy Woods State Park. Mendocino is such a unique town to explore, with a long oceanside walkway. Dinner at St. Orres is not to be missed. I can't say enough positive about this B&B as a place to relax and as a springboard for an excellent vacation.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home. The extra attention to detail made it very special. The kitchen was fantastic. We loved sitting in the hot tub every morning. When the cold winds came up, we were cozy and the beds were very comfortable. We loved strolling your little neighborhood and the accessibility to everything up the coast. We found a quiet pebble beach up the Gualala River and had a beautiful kayak out of Mendocino up the Big River. We hit the wine country and walked among the redwoods. We also had a fabulous dinner at St. Orres. We would love to come back.

Our stay at Seacroft was amazing. The owners were very nice and accommodating, and the house is perfect for a family holiday or weekend trip with friends. They have everything- hot tub, barbecue, all the household amenities you could ever need; Not to mention the great views! Thanks, we will definitely be back soon!

(We) really had a good time at your house over New Year’s. Thank you for the bottle of champagne and the obvious care you take in stocking the house and keeping it clean as well as letting us in a couple of hours early. I’ve rented a lot of houses up there but yours says a lot about your concern for renters with your generous supply of stores and thoughtful array of utensils and cooking needs. I know it’s not cheap to outfit a house like that, yet your rates are reasonable... we'll be back!

My family rented Seacroft for the week of Thanksgiving and enjoyed it tremendously. The house is well equipped and comfortable. The kitchen and pantry are stocked better than any home we've rented. The owners are welcoming and cater to every need. They've anticipated every wish. There is plenty to do in Gualala and on local beaches, but it was wonderful just to sit in front of the fireplace and look out at the amazing view of the coast.

The owners have an incredible rental home! I rented Seacroft for the weekend for a total of four couples and a dog, and I will say, every one of us left on Sunday disheartened that we had to depart. The house was extremely well-kept, and we were very warmly welcomed to our rental with some special touches by the owners. Even better than advertised! There was ample space for eight of us, and we barely wanted to leave the house all weekend because of the views from the multi-level deck. We grilled, enjoyed the hot tub, and generally had a fantastic time in very large part because of Seacroft. Thanks to Michele and Greg for such a fantastic weekend - we'll be back! I've been visiting the coast from Hawaii for over 30 years and have rented many, many homes. Seacroft has got to be one of the best! It was everything that was promised and more. It was clean, comfortable and convenient. We had a professional chef in our group, and the kitchen had everything he needed to whip up his magic! MIchelle & Greg were easy to work with and very helpful. We hope to make this an annual stop for our group. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

We rented this house for our annual family vacation. Loved the house, nice and big, lots of room for eight people. Very homey and comfortable. The outside decks, ocean veiws and hot tub were fantastic. The kitchen was very well equiped, my sisters and I had lots of fun getting in there and cooking great meals. The owner was very nice and easy to work with. I will recommend this house to friends and hope to visit again in the future.

We found Seacroft to be as listed - if not better! The house was clean and comfortable, the view was spectacular. The hot tub was a nice amenity... We appreciated the abundance of glassware/dishware and pots and pans of assorted sizes. We would recommend this vacation property.

OK House at the Ocean

For the price, I would recommend looking harder for a nice house at the beach. The lower level master suite appears to be a converted garage reached by a long, dark stair. (It also has a somewhat strange poker table and office area.) The rooms are as shown in the photos but the overall layout of the house is kind of chopped up and doesn't flow very well. One would wish for an open kitchen attached to a great room, all with a view of the ocean. Instead, all of the spaces are kind of compartmentalized. The view to the ocean is across a street.

Owner response: We welcome a guest review and critique following a guest’s stay at our home; however, Claire did not actually stay at our home. Had she joined her young adult children and their spouses for whom she booked the house, she would have appreciated the flow and amenities of Seacroft. One of the most frequent comments we have received from guests over the past 10 years is that they like the home’s layout because there are areas both inside and outside where family and friends can comfortably gather and areas where they can quietly spend some time undisturbed. Claire is only half right about the 12 stairs leading from the home’s main level to the lower master suite. The interior stairway is dark at night if one does not turn on the lights; but it is bright during the day. The spacious lower master en suite affords plenty of room for family fun at the poker table where many of our guests have enjoyed themselves playing cards and board games or working the jigsaw puzzles we have on hand. The suite also has a bright corner area furnished as a “mini office” for guests who cannot escape from their work while on vacation.

We had a fabulous weekend at your lovely home- in spite of all the dire weather predictions, it was great. You had thought of every possible thing, it became a joke to try to think of something that you had not provided. Your welcome bag of goodies was delightful and we all found our "favorite." Thank you for sharing Seacroft with our family... What a comfortable place for a group the size of ours. Everything was sparkling clean. [The kitchen was stocked] better than my own. What a joy to find everything anyone could need. We seven (plus M, the dog) had a wonderful time.

The sunsets have been spectacular as the sun descends through the offshore fog- even some green flash sunsets off the fog! The abalone diving has been great, as have the abalone dinners. We love the well-equipped kitchen! All of the various decks have gotten used during our stay- four deer ran across the road this morning as we watched from the deck. The layout of the house is wonderful. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home.

We arose to a beautiful ocean view every day and an enchanting sunset every night. This was everything we hoped it would be. We feel the house was warm and inviting and perfectly furnished to feel like our own home away from home.
