Mt. Crested Butte condo description
At 9300 ft. elevation, walk in from the breath taking Rocky Mountain view of Mount Crested Butte (12140 ft.) into the middle level of your 3 floor condo vacation getaway. The 2 bedrooms with plenty of dresser and closet space and cable televisions are located on this level as well as a full bathroom. A wooden staircase connects you to the loft which also has a cable television set, dresser storage, a full bed, and a desk.
Downstairs is the living room with a large flat screen cable television, stereo, DVD player, circular wood glass fireplace, full kitchen, dining table for eight, full bathroom, pull out sofa, love seat, lounge chair, and access to the covered porch where a portable wood/charcoal firepit grill, firewood, and lounge chairs and table are located. The view from the porch of the mountain and ski/mountain biking area is gorgeous anytime of the year.
Just outside your getaway is the footbridge to the base area where restaurants, rentals, putt-putt, a bungee trampoline, and a rock climbing wall is located. Up a half flight of stairs from the condo is the coin operated laundry area and up another flight of stairs is the hot tub and gas grill area. Up another half flight of stairs is the parking lot. From the base area there is a free shuttle that goes to the quaint town of Crested Butte (3 miles away) where commercial chain businesses are absent.
There is also a reasonably priced Alpine Express shuttle that goes to and from the Gunnison Airport (GUC) to Crested Butte and Mount Crested Butte. Truly still one of Colorado's best kept secrets - come and see yourself!

About: As a physician, time away is extremely important to me. I get dedicated time to spend with my family and reconnect with them. Engrained in me from a youngster is the desire to travel and experience the wonders of this earth, and it is my intent to pass this along to my children. My wife and 4 children are extremely busy and having a home away allows us to relax and refresh our batteries together. We hope to share our experience with many others that enjoy the natural beauty of this earth.
Why Mt. Crested Butte:
Even though we have to drive over 1400 miles to get to our condo we consider it home. I fell in love with the Rocky Mountains when my parents took me vacationing out west when I was young, and let's face it - the Rockies don't get any higher than they are in Colorado! I always dreamed of having a home where I could look out my window in the morning and see a mountain. This became a reality for my family and I a few years ago after we visited and skied the Mount Crested Butte area when we rented a condo there from one of my colleagues who lives in our hometown. Mount Crested Butte is 3 miles from the quaint, rustic town of Crested Butte where there is a lack of commercial business influence, but not a shortage of dining, outdoor sport outfitting establishments, or shopping. Weekend festivals are abundant throughout the year and give the town a unique cultural perspective. In Gunnison, 30 miles away, commercial businesses are present as well as an airport. Since Crested Butte is off the beaten path from interstate 70 it is still considered one of Colorado's best kept secrets.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our condo is just a footbridge away from the mountain ski/mountain biking base area where the lifts run summer and winter. We are also the closest condo in the complex to the laundry facility. In the winter, enjoy the nation's most lift accessible extreme skiing runs or just the view them from your porch window. In the summer, enjoy Colorado's wildflower capital or if your in good shape, take a day's hike to Aspen, spend the night, and return. Our family has fished at Lake Irwin; white water rafted the class III Taylor River; hiked to Judd Falls; hiked to the top, skied, and mountain biked the mountain; taken a National Park guided boat ride down the Black River Canyon of Gunnison Valley; boated on Colorado's largest lake - the Blue Mesa Reservoir; miniature golfed, ice skated, rock climbed, and bungee trampolined at the base area; and hot tubbed with frozen hair and of course sore muscles. Enjoy staying in for dinner in the condo after purchasing groceries in Gunnison or Crested Butte or eating out in Crested Butte at The Last Steep, Secret Stash, Soupcon, or Teocali Tamale. With 4 children the condo fits our family's size and allows us to bring some parents or friends also.
