Welcome to Stillwater Beach House, situated on beautiful Frolander Bay in the Stillwater area south of Powell River, B.C. We are on the waterfront, nestled amongst towering evergreen trees with incredible views of Malaspina Strait and Texada Island. Whatever the weather, the setting is truly magnificent at all times of the year!
This cozy getaway is an ‘eco-friendly’, self-catering beach house with the ocean just a few meters away. It's an ideal location where you can relax and enjoy the many outdoor activities this beautiful area has to offer. It's a wonderful place to enjoy time with family and/or friends!

It's difficult to write a review like this without sounding overly cliche, but we really have nothing bad to say about our experience here and would encourage others to check it out. Our hosts John and Christine were wonderful and very accomodating, and there was little expense spared in building this cottage. It's eco-friendly (solar panels, a non-flushing toilet etc.) so that was appealing to me. Great ocean views and a small private rocky beach-- you just can't beat something like that. It's a ways from downtown Powell River, but there are plenty of amenities nearby. We came into town on short notice and found this on the internet and thought we'd give it a shot. It was difficult packing up after 2 days, but we definitely plan to be back.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This is a cozy, beautifully decked-out beach house, right at the water's edge. It is one of the loveliest places we have stayed at. We stayed there with another couple (4 adults). Christine and John were such friendly hosts - offering thorough information on local spots/directions - they had the wood fire going for us before we arrived, and there was home-made bread for breakfast. The beach house itself is fully equipped for cooking, clean and well maintained, and the beds were comfortable (queen and two singles).There was a lovely deep bath and the eco-toilet (throne) was a novelty! We caught the sunset on the front decking with wine and cheese - beautiful. With the full moon reflecting on the water, ventured out onto the decking later at night to hear the sea lions barking! Absolutely a prefect place to be, with lovely hosts - highly recommendable - look forward to booking/staying again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

About the owner: We purchased the above property with an old cabin on the beach as a getaway from the pressures of city life in Vancouver. This quiet rural area known as 'Stillwater' twenty kilometers. south of Powell River became our family's place of tranquility and restoration. When we both retired in 2001 we moved from Vancouver to commence building our retirement home. A few years later we decided to renovate the 'old cabin' and recently completed our eco-friendly 'Beach House' which we now offer for your enjoyment.

Living right next to the ocean on a well forested acreage in a rural setting has proven to be a very healthy and beneficial lifestyle choice for us.
