We had a delightful stay at Creekside Cottage last weekend. The cottage is well renovated but still has a cozy ski A frame house feel. The owner has provided everything you need to truly escape for the weekend. And the new jacuzzi provided quick relief after hiking the mountain trails each day. The location north of Blowing Rock makes it an easy ride to Boone, Blowing Rock and other spots off the Parkway. It was only 15" to Grandfather Mtn trails (and 20" to the new Grandfather Mtn Winery). The owner is professional, easy to work with and highly responsive to any requests. I look forward to another visit!

We came to Creekside Cottage because I needed a get away after a Divorce. This was our first time coming to Blowing Rock and Absolutely Loved It!! Mom & I were able to bring our 3 dogs and they loved it as well. Never before have we had a vacation where we actually came back relaxed. It was wonderful and just a short drive from Blowing Rock. We didn't go anywhere else. I know we are going to plan a return trip. I have been telling everyone I know about this place, this was also our first rental thru VRBO and it was so easy and stress free will do again. Thank You Eddie & Carol for such a wonderful relaxing vacation!!! I hope to be back soon. Sincerely, Lauri, Gail, Lucas, Bobby & Scooter

Our family decided to take a last-minute Mother’s Day weekend trip to Blowing Rock. We are particular about where we stay, and have never used VRBO previously. I am happy to report the “Creekside Cottage” exceeded our expectations. This cottage is updated in a décor which is perfect for the mountain setting, with several unusual and beautiful details. This attention to detail is what made a lovely stay. We were greeted by fresh cut flowers on the kitchen table. We discovered several walking sticks for hiking, robes conveniently located for the hot tub, gourmet coffee beans and grinder, hooks for jackets and towels exactly where we needed them, a great selection of books to read, an outdoor fire pit with a bench for seating, and a gorgeous stone fireplace with easy-to-use gas logs. Right after we arrived and unpacked, we wanted to go to dinner in downtown Blowing Rock. Our iPad and smartphones both had our GPS location completely off. The owners’ contact information was prominently displayed, so we called their mobile on a Friday evening. Eddie answered immediately, and was friendly and gracious. He gave us several options for quick and easy routes to downtown. Eddie even asked what we were looking for in a restaurant, and gave us a perfect recommendation. The location is ideal; we could not have asked for better. On the parkway, yet a quick 5 minute drive to either Boone or downtown Blowing Rock. On Saturday, we were able to go to The Daniel Boone Inn, Howard’s Knob, Linville Caverns, and Grandfather Mountain yet still be back at the cottage by 3:00. Thank you Carol and Eddie for a perfect stay on our family weekend trip.

Creekside Cottage was better than advertised. What a great place to spend our 42nd anniversary. The sound of the creek to lull us to sleep. The secluded hot tub was magical. Temps in the 50's at night. Perfect for relaxing in the hot tub, a drink or three and gazing at the stars. We cannot remember the last time we felt this relaxed and at ease. We will return. Try the Bistro Roca. The caramelized figs and mussels were great starters. The trout over grits simply melted in your mouth. Try the Roca pizza. You'll want a second. Our server, Alec had extensive knowledge of the outstanding beer menu. Forget about the Best Cellar. Over rated and over priced. Slow service and slower food. Their excuse, a party of nine slowed things down. I admit that my lamb chops were excellent but at $42.00, a bit much. You could taste nothing but the heat in the pork with Ancho Chili rub. We had to get water refills and a pepper grinder from the server's station and bread plates from another table. Sad!

Just perfect for summer. We can’t wait to enjoy this place during the ski months. The location is perfect for those with a motorcycle. Swap the single chair in front of the TV for a love seat for two to enjoy. Thank you for adding the personal touches and amenities (e.g. bath robes, coffee, wifi, hot tub fire pit soft towels)

Thanks for the memories. We love Blowing Rock, and now Aho Gap. Next time, if you’ll have us back, we’ll spend more time at the cabin than anywhere else, it is so relaxing. Only thing we would suggest are some comfy lounge chairs to stretch out in outside.

Dean and I loved staying at your cottage. It was so relaxing and quiet. We’ve often thought about having a place in the mountains since we live at the beach like you do – North Carolina is just the best place to live! But til then (if ever) we’ll enjoy vacationing here. Loved the hot tub, especially after hiking the Glen Burney Falls. PS Also loved the coffee & the fireplace!

We had a fabulous Fall Break at your Creekside Cottage! We enjoyed the hot tub, fireplace and coffee bar. These were great amenities! We loved all of the books in the cottage about the area hiking trails and waterfalls. We spen a splendid Saturday hiking with our kids up to Linville Falls – the views were spectacular. We also enjoyed the fishing at Bass Lake and the beauty of Cone Manor. We all loved the sounds of sleeping next to the babbling creek – sweet dreams were had by all. The well appointed kitchen made cooking on vacation fun! Next time we hope to stay longer. Thank you so much!

This trip served two purposes for us: 1. to celebrate our 5 yr anniversary, 2. our 1st getaway after having our son (18 months ago). It was exactly what we needed – to just completely relax, re-charge, and sleep in. We enjoyed sleeping upstairs with the door open, listening to the creek. We also enjoyed cooking, drinking wine, the hot tub, etc. Blowing Rock is such quaint little place. We enjoyed being close to town, but not too close. Great house. Thanks for sharing! Maybe we will make this a yearly tradition.

You have a real gem here! Thanks for making it available for others to enjoy. We really appreciate all the attention to details and the way you have used the space. Great look & really beautiful materials. I made use of your backroad touring books to help me find the trout streams I hoped to fish. Also, your location is super convenient for getting to Boone, Blowing Rock & the Parkway is pratically in the back yard! We really liked the warm, rustic feel in a place that is clean & haven’t cut corners on amenities. Hope to visit again!

8/2/09 Folks! We are here from Atlanta and Lake Toxaway celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Your wonderful cottage is almost identical to the one we enjoyed in Ginger Cake Acres in Crossnore-Newland area (stream, upper bedroom and all). Only thing missing then was 3 TVs and all the appointments. We love all of NC, especially the western part of the state. We live in Atlanta but we support the “Heels” all the way. All the best, Carol & Don PS Your #3 coffee is best!!!

What a great vacation! We hiked every day but one and saw some spectacular views. The cabin is located in such a central spot – easy to get to Blowing Rock and Boone and to the BRP. Our dog loved to sleep on the deck while we enjoyed the hot tub with a glass of wine. We would love to see this area again during the fall foliage season, so we hope to return.

What a great place! We had a little trouble getting here due to the snow & ice. Luckily a neighbor coming down the dill in 4 –wheel drive drove us and our things to the cabin. For the rest of the weekend the weather was awesome & the snow & ice melted away. We enjoyed Grandfather Mountain & Moses Cone Park. Enjoyed a great meal at bistro Roca & highly recommend the Whistle Stop BLT at the Storie Street Grille. We enjoyed having the amenities of home. Thank you for offering your cabin & we hope to be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing getaway at the Creekside Cabin – all the comforts of home in such a peaceful setting! Shopping in town & at the outlets was fun, as was taking walks around Bass Lake with our dogs. Meals at the Village Café, Storie Street Grille and Pssghettis were sooo good. The hot tub and fireplace were perfect on the cold nights (following beautiful, sunny days).Hope to be back soon!
