lovely apartment in a key location -- easy to get around and not too gentrified but not too bohemian. The patio and grill and the fresh tomatoes and herbs made a night at home perfect. Would definitely rent again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

Nicolas was wonderful to work with. Honestly coming from Chicago, the look of the neighborhood made us a little uneasy at first but Nicolas reassured us and he was right. This is a wonderful, vibrant neighborhood. We loved being part of a neighborhood as opposed to staying downtown. We walked/ran/biked on the canal daily and shopped at the Atwater Market. We even rented Bixis and biked downtown. What a great location. The apartment was super clean and very comfy. It had a great layout and all of the comforts of home. I would highly recommend this as your Montreal "home base."Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My husband, two sons (9,12 y.o.) and I stayed at the apartment in early September. The place was easy to find. The location worked out perfect for us. The bike path was just a block from our door and tennis courts around the corner. This is so close to the city by bike, metro or car, very convenient. We drove our van and easily found parking on the street right in front of the apartment. I like to cook all our meals on vacation and the kitchen was great. Every utensil I needed was in the kitchen. My boys were comfortable on the futon and all the bedding you needed was in the closet. Great water pressure in the shower! I always like that. Having a washer and dryer helped so we didn't need to bring as many clothes. Plus the laundry was very new and highly efficient. Nicholas was very helpful and always available for any questions we had regarding the area. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. Thanks to Nicholas and VRBO we had a outstanding and affordable stay in Montreal.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This is a delightful rental with a very accomodating host in a wonderful location. We used the deck terrace for evening cocktails and appetizers that we had gotten at the Atwater market and marveled at the delightful neighborhood we were staying in. We were very close to the Lachine canal bike trail and it was a great to ride our bikes on it. While we did have to bring our bikes up a flight of stairs, it worked well with 2 people for each bike. Perhaps most importantly, Nicolas allowed us to check in early when his previous guests left early because of complications from a hurricane hitting their town. This gave us additional time to explore Montreal, by bike, as we wanted to do. He was very helpful with suggestions on places to see and eat. Also helpful was the washer and dryer, along with the laundry soap, so we didn't have to buy any. The place was delightfully appointed with a great TV and WiFi. We were able to bring in a double aero bed for one of us and Nicolas thoughtfully provided the linens. We would definitely stay here again - especially since it gave us what we wanted: a very clean rental, a very helpful host and in the middle of a Montreal neighborhood so we could experience true Montreal city living.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We enjoyed staying 8 nights here. We felt as though we were given temporary credentials as "true citizens of Montreal". This cozy place feels authentic because it is pretty authentic to typical urban life in Montreal going back multiple decades - with modern updates like a microwave, wi-fi and solar water. The rear deck terrace is very nice, a major amenity. The place feels intimate with the neighbors. You feel almost as if you know them, You hear kind voices from the street below in the morning, headed to work. You see the laundry placed on clothes lines. You may get lucky and befriend a cat. Yet it is private. The metro is easy walking. Atwater Market, good restaurants, Lachine Canal, are in the neighborhood, This is the real Montreal. Enjoy!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We stayed here for F1 and it was really convenient to the city. A short walk to the Metro or you could ride your bike along the canal into the city. Near Atwater market which is definitely worth a visit. This appears to be an up and coming neighborhood. Nicolas was very flexible and easy to communicate with. We enjoyed staying here and would recommend it. Nice back roof deck and clean apartmentRecommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

This is a tidy little apartment with an enormous deck providing a terrific view of Montreal's backyard. The Atwater Market is a hidden gem that made our stay very memorable. It has a fantastic selection of Quebec cheeses and marinated meats and a terrific bakery. Staying in this neighborhood gave us a view of Montreal that we wouldn't have had otherwise. It's an easy ride downtown on the Metro - about 15 minutes to old Montreal.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Apartment was exactly as described. The subway was easy to get to, and walking distance from great little shops and restaurants. The back porch was large and a nice addition to a great apartment. When I was there it was chilly and the apartment had its own thermostat, which was very nice. The owners made good suggestions about things to see and places to go. I would visit again and recommend the apartment to a friend.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
This is a quiet neighborhood where it's nice to spend time on the terrace. Being partly among the trees, you forget how close to downtown you really are. If you like the outdoors, we've got the biggest playground just a minute away: The lachine Canal and it's bike path.
