Blue Moon - Charming Victorian House Sleeps 7
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This lovely Victorian home has been totally renovated, yet maintains its classic charm. The large kitchen is fully furnished with anything you'll need to prepare meals. There are three baths in all, one on every floor.
The house has central air conditioning and heat, with a screened porch off the kitchen for outside dining, in addition to the front screened porch with a view of the undeveloped protected marshlands across the street. Great for bird watching or just relaxing.
For sleeping accommodations, the second floor has two queen bedrooms and a den with daybed for sleeping, reading, watching TV, or playing games. The master bedroom suite is on the third floor with a king sized bed and full bath of its own.
You will arrive to find the beds freshly made and clean towels out for your use. Wi-Fi internet and two flat panel TVs with cable and DVD players will keep the whole family happy.
Situated on a quiet end of town, close to a community boat launch and a great seafood vendor, both within easy walking distance. A short jaunt to Maddox Boulevard, 1 of 2 main concentrations of eateries, taverns and shopping. The street has bike paths, and it's easy and quick to bike to Assateague preserve and the beach. There is also a scenic walking/biking trail just minutes from the home. A nice yard for the kids to play, private off street parking; outfitted for your every vacation need.
Chincoteague Island and its close neighbor Assateague Island National Park were voted best beach for wildlife by Travel and Leisure Magazine. A top pick for bird watching, fishing, pristine beaching, and of course the famous wild ponies, this resort is paradise. The town and beach are family oriented, with wonderful dining establishments, small amusement parks, boat trips, quaint shopping areas, and plenty more for all to do.
The town remains a working fishing village with an active fishing boat fleet, reflected by the fresh local seafood served on the island. The town has a long history, reflected by local sites like a decoy museum, an Oyster Museum, the Assateague Lighthouse, and the wildlife tourism center within the national park.
Other unique towns are an easy day excursion away, and include the Ocean City Boardwalk, Tangier Island, Cape Charles, Onancock and some of the other Cheasapeake and Atlantic towns reflecting the great historical heritage of an area first settled in the early 17th Century.
Come experience this unique land and people. Once will not be enough!

Blue Moon is a lovely home with very comfortable beds. It was a treat to rent a home that included towels and bed linens. The home has nice furniture and a well equipped kitchen, even though we didn't use it too much! Had already left our review, but today we received a package of clothes that we accidentally left in their house (probably in the dryer). They were in no way obligated to send our clothes back, but the gesture is so appreciated! Will recommend this home to anyone who wishes to stay on the island. Would love to come back sometime, especially in the summer! Thank you SO much!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great time at Blue Moon!! An old house with original character. We traveled with 3 boys (9,7,&1). There were games, puzzles,DVDs available which they enjoyed. We had plenty of room for everyone. It's a little drafty because it's old but does have central h/a so that was fine. Kitchen was excellently stocked with everything you need for cooking. House is convenient to everything since the island is small.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Ashleigh and Matt! We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you come back again. --Karen and Jim Cassedy, owners

Terrific location for getting to the beach, close to boat launch and shopping/restaurants. Three full baths make after-beach showering easy. Front porch is a wonderful spot to drink your morning coffee and read. However the home's management company has been slow to return the security deposit, so that is a minor annoyance (but certainly not the owner's fault).Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: We're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay! The management company does a great job overall and it can take 3-4 weeks for a deposit to be returned. Since you departed on July 10th, I've checked with them and you should have received your deposit back sometime in the last week. Please let us know if you haven't and we can check into what happened. Thank you.
