Ochlockonee Bay house description
Welcome. Thank you for dropping by our listing for a visit.
We love this house. It is elegant, yet simple. One of my favorite things about this house is the beauty that is everywhere. Warm knotty pine floors are constantly lit with the light of the day, or the night. Early in the morning, I can be found on the Lani with my morning coffee and a blanket. Tweeting birds, silent, majestic birds, jumping fish, dolphin and sensual breezes bathe your soul. The air is so fresh you just want to swim in it. There are currents in the water that converge just behind us, which causes a swirling and twirling that catches the sun’s light a million ways. Sometimes the silence is so amazing, you can’t know it until you experience it.
The morning sunrises are amazing. In every moment there are new colors to explore. The water loses it’s distinction from the sky. The clouds take on persona. This is a place of peace and tranquility. With the right music, you can create your own paradise. It is heaven on earth.
The sunsets have amazing, sometimes unidentifiable colors; I’ve been told Carl Hyacinth wrote about the rare colors of sunset along the Ocholocknee Bay. Pelicans seeking a roost, mullet jumping out loud and trails of ever changing clouds parade themselves before the day’s ending.
The bedrooms are spacious and have a nice flow. Our master bed room is expansive with a vaulted ceiling and spacious master bath. Off of the master suite, we have a balcony that is high enough to give you a bird’s eye-view of everything, literally. Star gazing, sunning, meditating, socializing, sleeping, these are just some of the things we’ve done on the balcony. On the other side of the Master Suite is a small, attic-loft bedroom. This is great for children needing to sleep close to Mom and Dad (or the G’s).
The kitchen is designed so that no one is isolated. It is completely open to the living room, separated by a bar that seats four and has a panoramic view of the bay and Gulf of Mexico. There are plenty of windows throughout the house. The ceilings are 12ft high, which gives a really spacious feeling to each room.
Trade Winds Subdivision is a quiet, out of the way area located on Mash Island. On our island, wild life, birds and a few people live together in harmony, most of the time.

We had a very relaxing time at your home!! Your home was so clean and comfortable. We saw porpoises as well as many fish jumping in the water. We are extremely thankful that we found your home. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Our family had a wonderful, relaxing vacation. The house far exceeded our expectations, very comfortable and spacious. We had 4 teenagers and they had a great time, plenty of nearby activities and exploring. Several nearby restaurants with great seafood. We went kayaking and saw tons of wildlife, including manatees. Would highly recommend the house & location for anyone that wants a relaxing vacation away from the typical FL "touristy" locations.

I stayed at this house for two weeks while working in the area. The house was terrific. Plenty of space for myself and three coworkers and located on a beautiful spot overlooking Ochlockonee Bay. The house was also very well furnished relative to other rental properties I have stayed in throughout northwest Florida. A fantastic home away from home!

A wonderful week
A wonderful week
Staying in this beautiful house made for one of the most relaxing vacations we've had in a long time. This isn't your place if you want crowded tourist destinations with sandy beaches and nightlife (though they're within driving distance) but if you want to sit back and enjoy the breeze, watch the birds and gaze at the water, this is for you. Motor over to Appalachicola for some seafood at Papa Joe's Oyster Bar, go a little more upscale at Angelo's, and take in the birds and wildlife at nearby St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge.

Owner response: Thanks, Pam, for that favorable review. We are so glad to know you had a chance to relax and enjoy the peace and calm. We recently paid a visit to the community pool, hung out with friends and watched the sun go down. It was incredible. We know first hand how totally relaxed one can be in this atmosphere. We look forward to seeing you and your family again next year. Donna & Cliff
