The 'Schratzhaus' is located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, six miles south of Tahoe City, across the street from Chambers Landing. While winter is wonderful, with close proximity to skiing at Homewood, Alpine, Squaw and Northstar, and also the 'Olympic' cross country ski trails on the lake at Sugar Pine, it is the summers that are magical. Schratzhaus is within a short walk to waters edge at Chambers Landing, where a private beach, restaurant/bar, heated pool, tennis courts, etc. await. In addition to full Chambers Landing membership, this west side location becomes a great home base for hiking, biking, kayaking, etc. without ever having to go into town (unless you want to)! Now was wireless internet and a Gas BBQ.
The cabin has a bedroom and full bath on the first floor, and three bedrooms and a bath upstairs, with enough beds to sleep 12. While rustic in nature (open wood burning fireplace), the cabin is very clean and comfortable, with a totally remodeled kitchen. Also included is a 42' flat-screen TV w/ 83 channels, DVD player, stereo with iPod dock, and a wireless high speed internet. There is also a separate laundry room upstairs.
So, whether you just want to sit at the beach or pool, play tennis, ride your bike on the trail to Blackwood Canyon (or all the way to Squaw Valley), hike into Desolation wilderness, or just take a leisurely stroll through Sugar Pine park, the Schratzhaus will provide a comfortable home base in a great location to really get away for a week.....or two!
