Chapala has one of the world's best climates and low cost of living, a friendly atmosphere, and the area becomes idyllic living environment for many, despite its beauty. So if you are planning for a vacation, consider the sunny northern shore of Lake Chapala, Mexico's largest freshwater lake. This quaint Mexican Town has all the services and amenities of lovely Guadalajara, Mexico second largest city, only about 30 minutes away. This newly constructed 2 bedroom, 2 bath single family home provides all the comforts of a home, including TV, a fully equipped kitchen, an enclosed sun porch, a walk-in closet, laundry in the home, and a gated community.
Conveniently located between Ajijic and Chapala, you are only steps from the Chula Vista golf course, a fine dining restaurant (just 3 doors down!), shopping, cafes, the bus stop, charming San Antonio village plaza, an internet café, and more.
About the north shore of Lake Chapala: “Lakeside” is comprised of a chain of quaint villages that have become world renowned due to our beautiful climate, breathtaking views, large mountain lake, lush vegetation and friendly local people. These aren’t “tourist areas”, but we have lots of inexpensive international restaurants, art galleries, performance arts, cobblestone streets and pueblo charm. The safety and comfort of the “Lakeside” area draw approx 10,000 expatriate visitors from the US, Canada, and Europe who spend their winters here. We are also only 35 minutes from Guadalajara, which blends Colonial charm of the 16th century with the modern of the 21st century. There are numerous day trips to experience in the area, including pyramids, Tequila village, and the artisan districts of Guadalajara.
Weather: Ajijic and the Chapala “lakeside” area are famous for the year-round 'spring like weather” and listed by National Geographic Magazine as the second best climate in the world. Temperatures year-round are mild, and when the “snowbirds” leave, the “sunbirds” arrive from the hotter states in the US. At a mile high, the humidity is low and the sun warms us every day. With the huge lake here to moderate temperatures, compared to Guadalajara we are generally 10 degrees cooler in the day and 5 degrees warmer at night. Late June through October is rainy season, and the mountains turn emerald green. It rains mostly at night. November through May is dry season, with robin's egg blue skies almost every day. Flowers bloom all year long and birds sing constantly. For more information on the area we recommend the book 'The Insider's Guide to Mexico's Lake Chapala & Ajijic'.

We stayed for a month and we enjoyed every day. The owners are wonderful people who treated us very well. The place now has a small pool for dipping with a covered patio for suntanning and sipping margaritas. There are more flowers around the patio than the photos show. Kitchen is well equipped (blender, kettle, toaster, wine glasses and wine bottle opener plus all the essential pots and cutlery). Two bedrooms with lots of storage. Beds are the double or "matrimonial" size common to Mexico (not queen beds) but they are very comfortable (not the hard mattresses we had elsewhere). Two excellent bathrooms. The ceilings are beautiful brick domes (boveda). There is a view of the mountain behind the house, with glimpses of the lake. The house is just one block off the cycle path (check with the owners...they talked about buying bicycles.). Location is 2 kms. from the SuperLake store (and Walmart); there are a few restaurants and corner stores within easy walking distance. The nearest malecon (lake front walkway) is about 1 kilometre away, or you can walk only a few blocks to the nearest lakeshore access.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with young children.

I just left this place last weekend and I already miss it. The house is beatiful, the place is amazing and the owners are the kindest people. If you want to rent this house don't hesitate and call! It will be a pleasant surprise.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Were pleased to hear your stay was pleasant and look forward for your return. Our number one concern is your comfort and security when staying in our home. Our home is centrally located when using public transportation. You can see horses walking the mountains in the early morning and hear birds chirping. At night you can hear the crickets singing. A big thanks to the wonderful occupants that have stayed at our house.

I'm from San Francsciso and I went to Chapala for 2 weeks and am in love with this place. It is close to everything. There is a trail for bikers, jogger, and walkers. The town of Chapala is midway as will as AJijic. Two blocks away is the Lake and also where is can ride horses for $5 for 1/2 hour. In the heart of Ajijic there is a restaurant named something Tango where you can taste the succulent flavors of Argentian meat. It is quality and inexpensive. If you have children this is the best house you can stay at because it is gated and you don't need to worry about watching them. What I like the most was that they were able to transport us from the airport to the house. Transportation was not a problem while we stayed because the Chapala busline was only 2 small blocks from the house. The house is brand new with nice architecture disegnsRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
