I wanted something a little different than your average hotel, while traveling to Seattle for a weekend trip with my 2 grown kids. This was perfect, and the owners could not have been nicer!

The stay on the boat was pleasant and enjoyable. Initial contact and communication good. However, the way Jim works it is that you send him a deposit check for a reservation which upon arrival you pay cash for the stay. Then the deposit check becomes a damage deposit. After the stay and no damage is confirmed then the deposit check is to be returned. When we left the boat it was in just as nice as condition as when we arrived so I would expect our deposit check to be returned. I've left no less than three e-mails and one voice mail on Jim's cell requesting the check be returned with absolutely no response back.... This I believe is rather unprofessional.

I can't express enough how great this yacht was to stay on. My husband, father-in-law and myself could not have dreamed of a better place to stay in Seatlle. It sits in a great location which is near almost everything you could want to do while visiting. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The yacht was very clean and I would recommend this vacation rental to anyone with a sense of fun and adventure. When we come back to Seattle (and we will) we will definietly stay here if it is avaiable.

And now for something completely different....
And now for something completely different....
We ended up choosing this listing because of the novelty of being able to say we were spending the night on a yacht. It was perfect. There were 5 adults, 2 couples and a single. There was plenty of room and even though the weather didn't cooperate, it didn't take anything away from the experience. We were there the first part of October and although it was cool outside, the yacht was comfortable and inviting. My husband is 6'4" and his friend 6'2" and both had plenty of room. Jim & Debbie left a lovely welcome basket with snacks and such and Jim was available to answer questions as they arose. Would definitely recommend and hope to be able to do this again!

We live 3,000 miles away from our three grandchildren, so when we visit, we try to include unusual family activities. Staying on Summer Magic was one of those special activities! The boat was squeaky clean and provided all the ingredients for a pleasant week-long stay: comfortable beds, great amenities, convenient location, and friendly owners. The two-hour cruise was a big hit with our grandchildren, especially our grandson who got to captain the boat (under owner Jim's supervision, of course). Even now, when our grandson regales us with his adventure of driving a boat, he recalls how Mr. Jim cautioned him to "drive carefully between the green and red buoys." Our grandson will never forget Jim's kind, spontaneous gesture...and neither will we. We were a little concerned that the children might object to wearing the life vests, but the ones Jim provided had colorful figures on them, so at the end of the cruise, our granddaughter did not want to remove it. Sitting on the deck on the aft of the boat, enjoying breakfast, dinner, or a snack gave us an opportunity to relax and enjoy watching the seaplanes landing and taking off on the lake, admiring the downtown Seattle view, watching a mother duck and her brood paddling around the lake, or a sailboat gliding gracefully through the water. Thanks to our gracious hosts, Jim and Debbie, we shared some wonderful memories with our children and grandchildren. The boat is aptly named, for it did provide several days of wonderful summer magic for our family.

A super Weekend Stay
A super Weekend Stay
I don't know what to add to the previous reviews other than to say our stay fastly surpassed our expectations. We shared the boat with friends who had never been to Seattle before. They were thrilled with everything from the views from the boat, the proximity to local attractions, and the comfort and layout of the boat. Jim and Debbie were great hosts and provided for our every need. We're spoiled and hope we never have to stay in a hotel while visiting Seattle.

What a magical place to stay -- on Summer Magic!
What a magical place to stay -- on Summer Magic!
My husband I came to Seattle for a few days of R & R to celebrate our anniversary. I couldn't believe we were lucky enough to find Summer Magic available. It was so awesome. We never left the boat during our stay -- not even to go visit our kids! What a relaxing and unique experience. Our hosts Jim and Debbie were very accommodating and gracious. The yacht was impeccably clean and well stocked. The bed was very comfortable and the gentle rocking lulled me not only into a good night’s sleep but a couple of impromptu naps as well! We'll definitely be back and will recommend Summer Magic to all our friends! Thanks so much!

Staying on Summer Magic was a great way to kick off the summer, and way better than staying in a hotel! The people at the marina were very friendly and Jim accommodated our schedule. The yacht was a perfect size for 2 of us and is very well maintained. We did feel the little waves every now and then, so for people who get motion sickness, don't forget the Gravol! The bathrooms at the marina are ok; some days weren't as clean as others. We highly recommend having a meal on the patio at Ivar's Salmon House, only a 5-10 minute walk from the yacht. You can also walk to Wallingford and Fremont where there's unique clothing stores, lots of great coffee shops, PCC Natural Market, and Theo's Chocolate store where they have lots of free samples! We happened to be there during the Zombie Festival, so that added to the fun! From this area, a 10-15 minute bus ride gets you to the famous Pike Place Market where you have to try the chocolate-covered chuka cherries and the shrimp cocktail. If you need to go to the original Starbuck's, just be prepared for a long line up. Kell's Irish Pub is tons of fun if you want live music and dancing. If you like to run and bike, there are amazing trails along the lakes. We would definitely recommed Summer Magic and look forward to our return trip!

My family strongly recommends renting the yacht! The owner was very helpful and met us at the dock right on time! The yacht was actually better than he described~extremely clean with everything a family could possibly need! The beds were very comfortable and I slept better than I have in a long time! Overall, it was a unique experience and was definitely better than staying in a hotel. Thanks Jim, we can't wait to come back!

Don't miss this opportunity to stay on a luxury boat in downtown Seattle. You won't beat the price and the accommodations are simply marvelous. We arrived to beatiful sunny weather (not necessarily the norm in Seattle) and enjoyed two very relaxing nights on the boat, sipping wine on the bridge and wachting a movie on the big screen TV after dark. The marina is very quiet and peaceful. The boat was clean, fully appointed, nicely laid out. We can't wait to stay there again and have recommended it to our family and friends. Thanks Jim and Deb for an excellent experience.
