In a quiet, low density area flanked by the mountains in the west and southwest in the back of La Quinta, our six year old vacation home offers a tranquil setting. The luxurious back yard with a natural, desert rock waterfall outside of the main master bedroom adds a touch of ambiance. Our south facing pool and spa offers a tanning shelf for another in the water tanning option.
For cooking at home the kitchen is well equipped for anyone's needs including stainless steel cookware, condiments, spices and the option of using a top of the line custom outdoor grill with warming drawers.
Each bedroom is a master bedroom with king size comfortable beds and bedding.
Two flat screen TV's, surround sound and outdoor speakers poolside are in place for your enjoyment.

Lovely house and beautiful pool. The weather was not that warm when we ventured south, but the yard here is protected from the winds and was really taken advantage of. The garage is a tad on the tight (small) side and not easily accessible if you have a larger vehicle, but lots of street parking, The common areas in this community are well kept. Very nice large pool for lap swimming as well as a more family type pool. The only drawback for us was the necessity to drive everywhere, whatever it is you want to do. We did walk around the block (long blocks) and find a nice local store where we could buy a paper. My highlight was the fresh strawberries bought straight from the farm. Yum. And, of course the hiking, The area has great hiking and walking, The visit to the Salton Sea, mud volcanoes and burbling sulphurous mud pits was fun and even threw in a sighting of a burrowing owl. All in all a successful, nature inspiring and relaxing stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I have rented a number of times through VRBO and this was truly one of the best values I have ever seen. The house was breathtaking, well stocked and beautifully maintained. Ron and Adele were lovely and got us off to a great start by explaining how to operate all of the bells and whistles. The private pool and jacuzzi tub are decadent, and the water feature off of the one bedroom is lovely. I cannot recommend this rental hightly enough - it is perfect!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: We love the desert and what it has for us as we enjoy the outdoors and now travel less because we enjoy our vacation home so much. One of our favorite times at the house is enjoying the warm desert nights in the pool floating on a raft or laying on the lanai gazing at the stars immersed in the beauty of the clear night, desert sky.
Why the Owner Chose Puerta Azul:
We bought our home in the desert to have the relaxation that the area offers. Lovely weather and peaceful but yet there is plenty to do. The grounds are lush and the area has spectacular mountain views. With it's resort type of amenities we always enjoy our desert retreat.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love being close to Old Town La Quinta,the Polo games and HITS Equestrian Event. Pro tennis and lots of golf tournaments are close as well as great restaurants, and occasional art shows. Our area offers resort type living with two community pools with jacuzzi's including a lap pool, Great House, tennis, workout room and lovely surroundings.
