Located in Merida, the original heart of the Mayan civilization, now the cultural and art center of the Yucatan Peninsula. It boasts excellent restaurants, art galleries, museums, theatre, a world class symphony and a rich 500 year history of Spanish, French, Portuguese and Lebanese influence. Close to the beaches on the Gulf of Mexico and several Mayan ruins including Chichen Itza, a world heritage site. The house has 20 foot ceilings with a formal dining room, living room (doubles as a 2nd bedroom with a queen-size pullout couch and ensuite), very large gourmet kitchen that opens out to a terrace and private pool. The second floor has the master bedroom with luxury ensuite and two terraces. All rooms feature natural ventilation and light as well as air conditioning in the master and living room. It was featured on the cover of the July 2010 issue of Ambientes Magazine.

A beautiful home in the perfect location. Very close to all the central attractions yet very quiet. A huge amount of space... this place is way bigger than it looks in the photos. Very clean and set up for relaxation. The owner and rental agency are extremely accommodating and went out of their way to make our vacation one of the best!!Did you find this review helpful? My husband and I spent the month of February here. With all the bad press Mexico has been getting, I have to admit to feeling nervous prior to our departure, however Tim assured us the city was very safe. He was right !!! We felt completely free to walk about the City both day and night without any worry or concern for our personal well-being. Merida is extremely well-guarded by both a State and Tourist Police Force both of whom we found to be most cordial and approachable. The people of Merida are amongst the friendliest and most helpful people we have ever encountered ! I cannot tell you how pleased we were with the Casa. The pictures really don’t do it justice ! It was everything and more than we hoped it would be - beautifully appointed, spacious and private. We cooked in most days for breakfast and lunch, which we enjoyed poolside or on the lovely rooftop deck. Each evening we dined out in one of the cities endless restaurants. The Casa’s location in the Historico Centro was perfection. Shops, restaurants, markets, grocery stores, museums, parks and nightly live music, were all within easy walking distance. We rented a car for a few days and travelled to Progresso, Celestun, Loltun Caves, Chichen Itza and our most memorable dining experience at Hacienda Xcanatun. On Tim’s suggestion we thoroughly enjoyed the house tours offered by the Merida English Library. A wonderful month exceeding all of our expectations. Thank you Tim, for all of your guidance, tips, suggestions and especially for sharing your wonderful home. We absolutely loved it !!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The property was as described. The managing agent was very helpful with information about the town and things to do. The pool and the house were clean. Cleaning ladies came on Wednesday and pool people came on Thursday. Most everything that is interesting to do can be done on foot from the property. It's a little oasis in the city. There is some folk music or folk dance going on for free somewhere every night it seems, and almost every cafe has its own free live music. Great to just be at the house for peace and quiet, or go out and be in the bustle of the city.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband, our 2 boys and myself have spend a wonderful week in this gorgeous house. Everything was closeby and we could walk everywhere. With the garden with the swimming pool, we were outside all the time and could easily watch our kids playing in the water. We warmly recommend this stylish house in Merida.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

This is a beautiful home in a perfect location to enjoy Merida and the surrounding areas of Yucatan. When we got there after a long day of travel, we were welcomed with a large bowl of fruit on the table which set the scene for many enjoyable meals. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go in town and enjoyed the nightly entertainment in the square. Each morning we would go out exploring the areas outside of Merida - and spent time at four cenotes, two sets of ruins, and several lovely haciendas. The haciendas are not only beautiful but the restaurants are unforgettable. The beach at Progresso is close and the water was the perfect temperature for swimming. After each day of exploring, the pool at the house was a welcome sight! We would highly recommend this rental.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: So glad you had a chance to enjoy the natural and man-made wonders of Merida and the surrounding area. And very happy that you enjoyed the house! Thanks for the great review and please visit again!
