We just returned today after spending two weeks at this condo. It was very comfortable and good location. The resort is very kid friendly and the pools are absolutely great!!! The only con would be the vents and fan had not been dusted in quite sometime and so I left a note for the cleaning staff. Other than that, Josh and John were great to work with and very accomodating!! Would return.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Would absolutely recommend this resort/room to anyone. The description was accurate, close to super market and the quaint town of Lahaina with many wonderful restaurants. The pools were awesome, not busy, the beach was right out front. The beach to walk was amazing. Dukes was a great place to eat. Nice to be able to cook if you wanted to. Did I mention we seen whales every day right on the beach:) The store was pricey downstairs-however great homegrown food with great tastes! Owner was prompt to bring blankets-otherwise problem free-enjoy the beauty of Maui through this property you won't be disappointed!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

We managed to get a last minute condo here (the westin villas was fully booked) and we were traveling with our 1 yr. old for the first time. The condo was very modern, it had kids stuff (buckets for shoveling sand, a pack&play that looked almost new, body boards, toys, etc.) amenities of a full kitchen and a great view. the owner/renting agency was responsive and extremely reasonable with making it work time wise and pricing wise... we just make this our yearly getaway instead of the westin! Great place would definitely recommend to family and friends over and over again.Recommended for: Families with young children.

I was in Maui in June for my son's wedding and stayed at Honua Kai. The condo was wonderful -- completely as described in VRBO. Very spacious, clean and well-appointed. We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was a wonderful place to stay!!!! We loved this unit! There is a view of the ocean from the room and overlooks the beautiful grounds of Honua Kai. The unit was stocked with everything we needed for cooking in and all the appliances were very new and quiet nice. We also particularly enjoyed that this unit has two chairs and an umbrella as well as beach towels, which are great considering there are no chairs on the beach without paying for them. We highly recommend this place! Justin and all were wonderful to deal with and very friendly. Thanks Justin for such a memorable trip!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

My husband and I have traveled to Maui for years and have always stayed south of Black Rock but things have change after staying at the Houna Kai. We really loved the condo and the pools and Dukes. The boardwalk is amazing and it is great to walk to S. Kaanapali and grab a coffee and watch all the action. The only thing that was missing in the condo was dishwasher soap, tea towels and some basic cleaning supplies. Without maid service I like to keep things clean especially staying a week or longer. Other than that it was just perfect. We have booked for next year!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

I now own 2 units at Honua Kai. This unit and a 2 bedroom / 2 bath unit in the Konea building unit 234 for which is a great corner unit that can accommodate my whole family when we all come out. Why Honua Kai:
I bought at Honua Kai Resort & Spa because it is BRAND SPANKING NEW. Everything else I looked at was 30+ years old. Even though most have been upgraded, Honua Kai's structure from the foundation to the elevators are brand new and top of the line. That is what was the deal maker for me. Plus the world famous Duke's Restaurant and have you seen our amazing pools.
