My family had a grand time at the "Three Bears" House. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us with beds and space to spare. We loved the open floor plan with the kitchen, living room and dining area all together. The kitchen was well equipped and huge and many people could work in it at one time. The deck overlooking the lake was great and we used it a lot especially for lunch and after dinner. The loft was used for game and one boy decided to sleep there so he could watch the sun come up. My daughter was out on the lake in the canoe early every morning and loved the peace. I would be happy to recommend this house to anyone

great family reunion
great family reunion
The owner made the preparations easy by rapidly answering e mails and showing a great deal of flexibility. we rented the place for a 2 week family reunion which turned out to be fabulous in part thanks to the house and its location. The house is great in its design , content and location. the layout provided separated rooms for different family units. The spacious kitchen and dining area allowed for successful large crowd dinners The beach and the many floating devices were the core of a pleasant lake experience. The surroundings were great for biking. the town was quaint , it had all the essential shops and a great beach The couple who takes care of house cleaning were nice and accommodating The need to bring towels and linen created an inconvenience due to the lack of space in our small cars that were also used to bring people from international airports We would highly recommend this location for any family planning a large reunion, especially that a second house, located on the property, is available for rent and can be used for extra sleeping quarters.

Beautiful house, fantastic vacation!
Beautiful house, fantastic vacation!
I just came back from a week vacation at this house and I would recommend it to anyone. The house is beautiful, newly built, with all the amenities you could want. Our group had 4 adults and 5 children and we had plenty of room and never felt crowded. The house is perfectly situated so that you can walk a few steps to the lake and go for a swim or hop in the car for a day at the town beach - which is only a mile away and very clean. We rented a boat one day from the town marina, the guys went golfing, and we took the kids to Great Escape which is a short drive away. There is so much to do in and around Schroon Lake. Colleen the owner couldn't have been nicer and more responsive to us. We will definitely try to be back again next year.

We went here with a group of friends to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It worked out perfect, because the location of this lodge is only around 4 hours from NYC. The lodge looked great in pics and since I was the one responsible for making this trip happen, I was nervous and praying that it looked the same way in reality. Well, needless to say, it did. Its well kept and quiet. There is another place that the owner owns directly across from this lodge. Our lodge came with a canoe and the other house had 2 kayaks. Because there was nobody renting the other lodge, the weekend we went - the owner was kind enough to let us use the kayaks as well. It was absolutely amazing going out in the lake on the kayaks surrounded by total quiet and peace. The lodge itself had music, tv (although we barely turned it on), a nice kitchen and all the bedrooms were wonderful. The lodge also has a good size deck where we made use of the bbq grill provided. The weather was beautiful, and it was fun sitting out in the deck playing light music and bbq'ing. Also one BIG positive - the owner was VERY responsive. I must have emailed her a billion questions and each time she responded very fast. The only thing I would say to watch out for - DO NOT leave your garbage bags outdoors. We made this mistake, only to find out that the bag had been ripped to shreds the next morning I guess by birds or raccoons! It was double work cleaning it all up! All in All - fantastic trip! We'd definitely love to visit again!

Schroon Lake Rental experience
Schroon Lake Rental experience
I recently stayed at this property on Schroon Lake (Oct 2010). The description of the property was completely accurate- the photos accurately represented the house and property. The house was spotless, the amenities more than adequate- we cooked there and found everything we needed-even storage containers for the leftovers. It was like being home. The view from the deck is just breathless- I don't know what was nicer- the fall colors or the lake. I would highly recommend this property and plan to stay here again!

About the owner: I grew up in upstate NY and spend my summers vacationing at Schroon Lake.
Why the Owner Chose Schroon Lake:
Schroon Lake has always been my favorite place to vacation from childhood through adulthood. It has all the beauty of Lake George without the crowds. You can boat to the Town of Schroon for lunch or shopping, and it's so close to Lake George and Gore Mountain and so many other Adirondack attractions! It's where I plan to spend my retirement, and until that time I will share my home with those who also enjoy the beauty of the Adirondacks!
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
The view of the lake and the mountains is the best part! The basement family room gives the kids a place to play and watch movies while the adults socialize upstairs.
