This is a wonderful place set in a beautiful area of Vermont. The hosts were wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed. The apartment was spotless and well equipped for cooking, lounging and as a base camp for our ski excursions. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

We left Vermont (reluctantly) a week ago and are still wishing we were back in this wonderful spot. The apartment is both cozy and spacious--more than enough room for our family of four, with everything you need to relax, cook, and hang out after a day of skiing. The views are incredible and the loft area was a great playroom for our kids. The location can't be beat for a true get-away-from-it-all trip—we took long walks through the woods, went to the Vermont Country Store, and skiied at Okemo (just a few minutes away). Hosts David and Brigid (and dog Wilder) were warm and welcoming but there's also plenty of privacy. Highly recommended. Would love to go back in the summer.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

What an incredible place. You drive up a snowy tree-lined drive to arrive at spectacular views of rolling hills and snowmobile trails and a trio of horses and scads of maple taps. Even though you're 10 mins from Okemo and a few minutes more from Killington and Pico, you feel like you've escaped to your own little world. Once you walk into the toasty apartment you have the convenience of ski and boot storage plus all the comforts of home--plenty of books to read, a nice-sized kitchen with great appliances, a comfy breakfast area, superclean, comfortable bedrooms with a washer and dryer and a fantastic loft, perfect for kiddos to sleep in. (Who can resist a spiral staircase?) The hosts are welcoming and warm but not intrusive and nearby there are great restaurants and cute shops. Truly a fabulous spot and a great find. I'm only loath to recommend it as I don't want it to be booked next time we want to visit!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1990
About the owner: David Hoeh and Brigid Sullivan are happy to welcome you to our idealistic setting in the Green Mountains of south central Vermont. We feel fortunate to be able to enjoy the beautiful seasons of Vermont and want to share it with our guests. We are experienced world travelers and understand what you need to be comfortable away from home. David's ancestors were early settlers in Mount Holly. He has spent some time here every year of his life. He loves to share local history and his knowledge of great spots to visit. In the summer and fall enjoy the vegetables and herbs from our gardens.
Why the Owner Chose Belmont:
The apartment, attached to our home, with the same spectacular views, is a secret hide away. It is on a dead-end dirt road in a tiny, wonderful Vermont hamlet. At the opposite end of our living areas, the apartment is private and cozy. The property has been David's summer home since the 1940's.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
The landscape is beautiful and it is so peaceful and quiet here. You can hear the winds whispering in the trees or howling in a blizzard and then it is quiet again. The skies are clear at night and the stars are spectacular. Venturing outdoors at night is an amazing experience to be cherished. Walk to the village for coffee and pastry or a sandwich. Enjoy the lake with a refreshing swim or ice skating or fishing. Don't forget your camera as every day is different and the scenery is stunning.
The Village is charming with the historical museum open on weekends. Family style dinners at the Odd Fellow Hall are delicious and a taste of real Vermont. Fireworks and the bonfire, skating and hot chocolate on New Years Eve are right out of Currier and Ives.
Music on the Green during the summer is a relaxing way to spend a great evening.
