About this property

Ocean Edge Beach House

NEW LOW RATE FOR RESIDENTS OF THE MARITIME PROVINCES: Ocean Edge is located on a private beach, offering panoramic views of the water and PEI's famous sand dunes from the wrap-around deck, the screened-in great room, or the glassed in 'lookout' on the upper level. Our beach house is located at the end of a quiet peninsula on Darnley Basin, Malpeque, PEI. Ocean Edge is a fully equipped 2000 square foot home that sleeps 8. Not only is Ocean Edge located on an acre of land, the house is spacious, offering all the comforts of home.

The options are endless - enjoy the feeling of this private ocean escape while listening to the waves lap against the shore. Let the smell of the fresh salt air take you a million miles away, all the while, being close to many of the island's most sought after amenities. Put your sea kayak in the water just steps off the back deck, comb your own beach for shells or other treasures, bike to the well-known sandy beach at Cabot Provincial Park or Thunder Cove just a few kilometers away. Play a round of golf or watch your seafood meal being taken off the boat at an authentic PEI oyster shack just up the road.

Finally, Kensington is only ten minutes away, offering everything necessary to make your stay enjoyable. We look forward to giving you a week to escape.

Wonderful Place on the Water
The house is a spacious, with sliding glass doors to the deck. Close to the water on a large open lot. Well equipped kitchen. Quick bike ride or very short drive to Cabot Beach Provincial Park, with a long, sandy beach. We watched the full Harvest Moon rise over the water from ‘the crow’s nest’, a second story sitting room with windows on four sides. Ten minute drive to Kensington for all the supplies you will need. Great place!

Great house, great views
The house was nice and comfortable and fully stocked with everything necessary. The views from the upstairs “turret” were wonderful. You can enjoy the sunrise and sunset from the same chair. Very convenient location for Thunder Cove and Cabot and an easy drive to Cavanaugh, Summerside, etc. Definitely recommended.

Peaceful and relaxing place
He spent a second family vacation at this amazing cottage in PEI. Quite, peacefully and magnificent location; you cannot ask for a better place. At the cottage you can spot both, the sunrise and the sunset. We will like to say thanks to Shelly and Joe for sharing this piece of Paradise with us. We will come back here for sure. Thank you!

Early July 2019 vacation in PEI
We had a great stay at this Malepque residence. It was very clean and spacious for the seven of us (4 adults and three young children). Nice sandy beachfront at the property. Cabot Park was only a few kilometers away and was a terrific beach/park area for us to enjoy. We all agreed it was a grreat visit in PEI.

My wife Shelly and I bought our dream house in PEI in 2005. We enjoy making memories in PEI with our three children and would like to share our beach house with you.

Why they chose this property

After spending our honeymoon in the Maritimes and a golf get-away in PEI, my wife and I had to own our dream home in a place where the only thing nicer than the ocean scenery was the people. We have never regretted making PEI our home away from home, as it has all the simple pleasures that we look for in a family escape.

What makes this property unique

An ideal day at Ocean Edge would be breakfast on the deck with the sun glistening off the water, while watching the lobster boats come and go. Followed by a walk on our sandy beach, a ride in the sea kayak, a round of golf, a long bike ride or a snuggle with a good book. Later, a seafood dinner and home in time to watch the sunset over the water from our second floor 'lookout' with the sound of the waves in the background.
