GrazieRecommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Luigi

Our family of 5 stayed in this apartment for four nights in early December 2012. It is in a great location in a quiet area just off the main Campo Fiori. The apartment met our expectations based on the on-line advertising and information. It is equipped with the basics for a self-catered stay. We chose to eat out at some of the many nearby restaurants. There are plenty of nearby options for buying provisions or eating out. There are interesting artisan shops and businesses in the street and those surrounding it. It is within walking distance of most of the things in Rome that a short stay tourist would want to see (we walked to and from St Peters and the Vatican Museums and the Colliseum). For central a Rome stay at a reasonable rental rate I recommend it. I would rent it again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Tim I'm very happy that you had a very good stay in Rome. I'm waiting in Rome again as soon as possible. Ciao Luigi

Excellent location, clean, and well stocked apartment. We were met at the door and helped with our luggage. One of our group's suitcases didn't make the flight with us. She called the airline to confirm delivery and notified us. Renters might want to consider the flight of stairs to get to the apartment as well as 2 bedrooms upstairs in the apartment.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Virginia I'm very happy that you had a very good stay in my apartment and an excellent holiday in Rome. I hope to see you again in Rome....soon. Grazie Luigi

Our extended family (15 of us) stayed in Luigi's two adjacent apartments for five nights, and had a fantastic experience. The location is excellent -- close to everything you want to be close to, especially Piazza Navona, the Vatican, the Tiber River and its nightlife (and jogging path), and Campo de'Fiori. We also found the Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain and many other sites to be in reasonable walking distance for our group. On top of the location, we found the comfort of the apartments, the owner's excellent attention to detail, and his helpful tips to be first-rate. I will miss walking down the quiet, charming street from Campo de'Fiori to this wonderful accommodation in Rome. But since we did throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain, perhaps we will be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Really thank you. I am very happy that you had a wonderful time in Rome and I am very very happy to have customers like you and your big family. I hope to see you soon again. Ciao Luigi

We recently stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment of Luigi's in Campo De Fiore. communication with Luigi was great, he responded right away to all of my questions and concerns during the booking process. The location was fantastic! it was on a side street off the main Campo de Fiori piazza (no cars can drive on street). it was quiet and peaceful being on this side street. the apartment was located on the 1st floor (walk up a staircase of ~15 steps). the apartment was slightly different than the apt listed since it was the 2 bedroom but was just as nice. it had plenty of room for the 4 of us, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. it was clean and spacious. we didn't have any problems. when we arrived we called the contact person and met her at the apartment, it all went smoothly. we'd definitely rent from Luigi again!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you very much I m very happy that you had a very good stay in Rome and in my apartment. I hope to see you again in Rome again. Enjoy your time. Luigi

We were staying three days in Rome and wanted a location close to the center of local life, the real one rather than the tourist's. The apartment in practically in Campo dei Fiori, a very colorful day market for flowers and food of every type, frequented moslty by romans plus a good share of visitors ready to adapt to the local habits. The apartment is large for roman standards, in an antique residence. Very well equipped and air conditioned (useful in those hot days !). Only critique, at that time taxis were not reaching the apartment and had to leave us a little distant (understand this issue has now been resolved by the property). A very graceful Anna Claudia was there to greet us on our arrival, with some welcoming presents. Altogether, a very good choice for people who like to see Rome in a "full immersion" experience.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you very much Gian Franco. I ‘m very glad that you've had a good stay in my apartment. I am also very happy that you had a nice holiday in Rome I hope to see you soon again in Rome. Ciao Luigi

We really enjoyed our stay in your apartment. We were met very promptly and the person who checked us in was very helpful. The apartment was very comfortable and nicely appointed. I do have two suggestions however. The first is it would be nice to have a wireless connection in the apartment. The second is minor but the fan in the downstairs bathroom is very loud, I think it might need a repair. The location is fantastic! I hope to stay again! My family of 5 (middle aged couple with 20 & 15 y.o. daughters, and 78 y.o. grandpa) stayed in the "Miro." Pros: wonderful, safe, very convenient location on quiet 'alley' directly off Campo de Fiori. 2 bathrooms were very useful, slept the 5 of us comfortably. Having a small but adequate kitchen was nice for cooking a couple of nights after shopping at the market. Mrs. Claudia, owner Luigi's 'manager' who meets you at the aptmt. is prompt, efficient and speaks lovely English. Luigi's pre-trip e-mails were quick & helpful. It is a terrific experience to be so near the beautiful flower and vegetable market in Campo de Fiori. The square is a 'hopping' place at night but a few minute walk down via dei Cappellari and you're in the quiet of your aptmt. Local bus serving most 'tourist' sites goes right through the square. Taxi stand 7 - 8 min. walk away if needed (can walk everywhere but we saved my Dad's energy for touring and used taxis on occasion). Highly recommend restaurant on the same street -- "Lucifer's". Lilo serves delicious food, speaks English/is quite accommodating. It's fun to eat on the square but the food is, of course, mediocre compared to the less touristy locales. Note -- Lucifer's only takes CASH. Be prepared. Cons: if you're on VRBO, you're probably not looking for a 'cushy' U.S. hotel experience. If you rent this aptmt. you are living amongst locals, hearing Italian families getting ready for work, separating your garbage into organic and non-organic materials to be brought downstairs, managing energy consumption like locals, etc. To that end, don't be surprised when the lights in the hallway go out if you linger getting up to the apartment (or are not on when you enter the building at night/in the dark). The switch is immediately on the right upon entering the lobby and another near the aptmt. We just carried our mini flashlight with us and it was a complete non-issue. Just an FYI. One internet note: it's a several block walk to an Internet point/cafe which is not open very late (we knew aptmt didn't have internet available but were unprepared for the cafe closing early and opening late. My daughter needed access for an online college class.) Stair set-up probably not great for toddlers. Generally clean though living room couch could use a cleaning. Overall really enjoyed staying here. Excellent value vs.having to get multiple hotel rooms.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: dear lisa I am really happy for you. Your experience is exactly what I wish for all my guests. I hope to see you again soon in Rome to live one more great adventure. Baci da Roma

We responded to this listing on VRBO and rented an apartment for a week. We did not notice in the e-mail response that the owner switched us to a different, smaller apartment in the same building (at the same address). This apartment is not listed on VRBO. We should have read and understood the details in the e-mail from the owner in which the second apartment was correctly described, but not clearly differentiated from the apartment advertised. We ended up in a unit with one less bedroom and a number of minor maintenance problems (hot water failed, missing light bulbs, sliding door off the track). However the owner did send in a repairman and the apartment was clean, adequately furnished and in an excellent location. We missed the extra room but had a good stay otherwise. We suspect the listed apartment is quite nice.Owner response: Dear Jonathan I'm sorry for any misunderstanding. In my e-mail response I clearly very well that it was a smaller apartment and therefore cheaper. Even in Annex I wrote clearly the characteristics of the rooms of the apartment. Have you had the problem of two bulbs not working and I sent the technician to replace them. Have you had another small problem with a door that did not flow well and I sent another technician. I am still very happy that you had a great stay in Rome. Thank you for choosing my apartment

The apartment certainly had everything we needed and was in an excellent location, very close to the Vatican, the Pantheon...for walking, lots of restaurants, bakeries etc. The apartment was very clean. The only suggestion I had was to get new dining chairs, the antique ones suite the house but were very delicate and we were afraid to sit in a couple of them as the legs were very loose. Other than that I would certainly recommend the apartment, We had a great time. Also it sleeps 6 comforatably, anymore than that unless its children it might be a little cramped.....Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
The apartment is in the old Rome historic centre. The zone is prohibit at the traffic vehicular. It is located on Via de Cappellari, 85, a lively, well-known neighborhood in Rome and in very good and strategic geographic position. The Roman Forum, Coliseum, Pantheon, Piazza Navona and more sites are all within walking distance. As for public transportation, a few steps from home, you can take a small electric buses to run all historical center. The whole neighborhood is filled with shops, restaurants, pubs and pizzeria, which makes this a perfect area to go out at any time of the day or the night.
