I'm rating this rental with 5 stars because it was so wonderful! Finally, an opportunity to play cards, watch movies and drink Margarita's with friends. It was such a relaxing place and soo clean (Which is a big thing). It was close to good shopping and restaurants. It's a bright building, snuggled in the woods, with a nice entertainment area. There is also a good area for the kids to stay and play. And as a side note they have DVR through DirecTv and good wifi. Can't wait to come back again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was our 25th New Year's celebration with two other families and this place was perfect for just hanging out in front of the fireplace playing games, singing old songs and just kicking back with lifelong friends. We all took a hike down to the lake and skipped stones...simple entertainment, but just what we needed. The younger ones actually put down their iPhones and Interacted without the usually constant glow from technology. Rustic isolation but still convenient for a quick run to the store for that forgotten grocery item. We had a few more than 8, but the owner was gracious about letting us throw a few air mattresses down, so there was plenty of space for everyone. We rotate host homes every three years, so we might be back in 2015 if it's still available! Thanks for a perfect place for friends to reminisce.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a beautiful serene lake retreat! This home truly offers something for everyone. It feels as though a friend has just handed you the keys to their lake home after stocking it just for you. The kitchen is small but perfectly equipped with high-end appliances. We were seeking an escape from work and it couldn't have been better. We slept late (on one of the most comfortable beds ever) and spent a relaxing afternoon on the lake. Later we grilled out and ate on the deck. The den was perfect for relaxing and watching a movie. Overall I had a wonderful experience and have recommended it to friends. I plan to return in the fall and make the most of the beautiful fireplaces. Serene. Cozy. Clean. Great views. Couldn't ask for more!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The house was very cozy and had all the necessary equipment. There is a definite need to clean the outside of the house and the garden needs some cleaning and trimming. The satellite TV channels are extremely limited. We were surprised to see the very low lake level. You cannot see the lake from the house and the access to the lake is extremely difficult and very steep for people of a certain age. They need to improve the accessibility or steps to the lake. The area around the house is very calm and pleasant. Easy to rest up at this location. Shopping can easily be found within 5 miles of the house. We had a pleasant stay but will not return to this location.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, pet owners.
Owner response: I have attended to the exterior needs and appreciate the heads up. Unfortunately, Lake Lanier water levels are controlled by the army corp of engineers, and are out of my control. I would love for the water to be where it is supposed to be, right in front of the house. It is much better earlier in the season. That said, I will work on accessibility as much as I can within the regulations they set for me. Thanks for your feedback.

The owner is very nice and does everything she can to accomodate, The home however does not live up to the picutres on Internet, The house needs a lot of maintenance,There is mold all over outside furniture, and outside of house. The kitchen is teeny,No bigger than an efficiency kitchen in a hotel suite. The pans were in the oven because no room to store, And the ovens were caked in black.Had to clean before I could turn the oven on, One of the beds smelled as if something had thrown up on it. Rugs were stained. BUT there were also many positives. New washing and dryer,2 refrigerators, very clean garage, nice office, and cute decor.Very quiet neighborhood The owner has supplied the home with everything one needs,The boat was what made the trip great. I was not even going to comment but I thought I wished someone had said something before and I would been more hesitant to rent, The rental price is way too high for this house..Recommended for: Pet owners
Owner response: Thanks for making me aware of these issues. I will attend to the exterior needs and let my cleaning people know about the ovens and bed. I am so sorry your weekend didn't live up to your expectations.

This is a wonderful property; we felt like were staying with good friends who had made every effort to prepare for our visit. Amanda sent 3 pages of basic information ahead of time that answered every question beforehand; the listing was accurate, the property was well furnished and very clean. The house is perfectly laid out with 3 Bedrooms upstairs on either side of the living area (twin beds pictured have been replaced with a King - which worked fine for us), which looks out onto the back deck, where we ate many of our meals. The Kitchen, though small, was perfectly stocked with dishes, pots and pans - really everything we needed - since we prepared all of our meals there. The Dining Room table was large enough to play board games around each night. The 4th bedroom, downstairs, was perfect for an overnight guest. The laundry room, (also downstairs) came in handy for keeping our beach towels clean - and conveniently housed the 2nd refrigerator - which we used to stock all our drinks for the day on the lake. The one caution is the journey to the lake; a very steep path, with quite a drop off since the lake is low. BUT once you get there, the location is perfect; just a short distance to the Marina, and many islands perfect for mooring for the day, clear coves to swim in, sandy beaches perfectly facing the sunset views. The boat was fun and reliable - just right for us! The dog door and fenced back yard were absolutely the best. The deer visited occasionally. The white slip covers made us feel like we were at the beach instead of a lake house, and the art was fascinating, the beds were perfect. Highly recommended - you will be delighted!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

The house was nice, clean, and well-stocked. Stairs to the bottom bedroom were steep and one of our guest fell the first night (be careful!). Laundry room is on the lower level. Back deck needed cleaning (mildew), so we never sat out there. The pontoon boat was the best part of the trip, and I can't imagine the week without it for my guys. HOWEVER, this was a family 'lake vacation' and we wanted lake front (or at least easy lake access). We were not told that lake water levels were so low, nor that the steps to the lake were super steep. From the house...standing on the back deck....you literally could NOT see the water, nor the boat. Scary sight upon arrival! My older two sons made the first trek down to the lake and discovered that the boat was further down the canal. They are young & athletic men, but were still winded from the trek when they returned. I was able to make ONE trip down the steps, but when I was near the bottom of the yard...there was a steep drop to the next lower level. If I had been able to get to that lower level, there was still a trek through mud and trees to get to the boat. Having had knee surgery years ago, I knew that the first drop was not going to be possible. So, we decided to try accessing from the boat ramp that was in our information package. After finding the appointed boat ramp, it was obvious that I could not access the boat from that area due to low levels of water, and marsh/mud. The boat could not be pulled anywhere near the ramp. So, we had to scout out a new entry area, but it was day 2 before we found one. For the entire week, I was able to get on the boat only twice due to the difficult process. My husband and sons were able to enjoy it, but it caused our family to be separated rather than together. I envisioned a lot of family time on the lake, watching my sons fish from a pier, going out on the lake at night, etc. This vacation was nothing like that. I honestly hate to give a negative review, but if you are looking for a LAKE house, you may want to keep looking. This was our first time to Lake Lanier and our first time using VRBO. :(Owner response: In the year since your visit, water levels at Lanier have varied wildly. It is an unfortunate reality. It is my hope that the drought conditions you experienced do not repeat themselves. At the current time, water levels are at full pool and the dock is in front of the house with water views. You are correct that the walk to the water is steep. With the dock in the correct position, however, it is far more manageable than what you experienced. I am truly sorry that your experience wasn't what you had hoped.

This is a perfect getaway especially for family fun. There were five of us and we were all comfortable with our sleeping arrangements. The house is high above the lake and getting down to the boat takes some stamina. But, just around the corner is a small park with plenty of parking. Some chose to get their exercise walking up and down the stairs to the boat, others chose to drive the coolers and supplies and meet the boat at the park. Renting the pontoon boat added a great deal of fun to our trip. We were able to watch the fireworks from the boat on the 4th! Wonderful! We entertained relatives and the kitchen was just right for our needs. I would rent this home again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Amanda, thanks for everything. The house had everything we needed. We had a couple's retreat with 8 people and there was plenty of room. Much larger than it appears. 2 full size refrigerators (which were used extensively), three full baths. There was nothing that seemed missing.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The house was perfect. The house is very roomy and comfortable and is a lot larger than it appears in pictures. We were in town for my nephew's wedding on Lake Lanier. My parents and sisters shared the house with my husband and I. There were 6 of us and the house was great. My nephews were able to stop by and visit before the wedding without being in a stuffy hotel. There is a bedroom downstairs that was perfect for my older parents with it's own living room, bathroom, and patio entrance. We couldn't have asked for a better location and home. The wedding was 15 minutes away. During our stay we also visited several older historic towns not more than an hour away. There were wineries with wine tasting. Everything was conventiently located. It was close to shopping, an outlet mall, several great restaurants, grocery stores, etc. We would love to come back during the summer and enjoy the lake. My husband and I have traveled all over the United States and Canada and you never know what your going to get when you book a home, but this home was definately a great place and I would highly recommend it. The owners made sure we had everything we needed and even offered to bring us a laptop. Thank you for sharing your home. This house was great and had plenty of room for a large group. The back yard was spacious and the upper patio was nice to sit on at night. The private cove was great and the location on the lake is incredible. It was just minutes from the marina and had easy access to several close islands. The owner also rented us out their pontoon boat which was in great condition and provided a great lake access option. Our dog was worn out by the end of the trip. The house was well taken care of and very clean. It was a great experience and we would look forward to staying there again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners.

A group of old friends gathered at this house for a girls getaway and it was perfect!! As soon as you walk in, all of your stress leaves. The house appears professionally decorated, is extremely clean. Once you are there, it is hard to believe you are just 45 minutes from the city. The cove is quiet, and peaceful. I would recommend this place to anyone. I will defnitely be going back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We had the best time on our vacation here. The house is very clean, cozy, true to all pictures posted, and accurately described on vrbo. The decor is wonderful and the house is fully stocked with quality kitchenware, linens, towels, etc. It is very secluded yet 10 minutes away from groceries and restaurants. We certainly look forward to renting again in the near future!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
