This stunning, glass walled, 5000 SF single story mid century modern home on three sprawling and secluded acres, built in 1956 and updated for all modern conveniences, was Frederick Loewe’s “Little Camelot”. It is a private, self contained special event venue, featuring four hotel style bedrooms with en suite bathrooms (plus powder room), a tennis court, grotto style spa, pool, waterfalls, fountains, sculptures, original art and an authentic Palm Springs feel to the decor. Time Magazine’s November 14, 1960 cover story described this home as an “airy, glass pleasure dome.”

The exquisite master suite is extremely spacious at over 700 square feet -- the perfect setting for a Bridal Suite. Luxurious and comfortable, it features two massive sliding glass doors which integrate the indoors to the outdoors and open to the outdoor swimming pool/patio area. Frederick Loewe so loved the views his unique property provided that he placed his bed and nightstand on a turntable, allowing him to enjoy the vista from multiple angles throughout the day. This feature remains. Heavy floor to ceiling draperies block light and provide privacy should it be desired. Additional amenities in this room include built-in quarter sawn book cases filled with books, paneled gas fireplace, 42” flat screen HDTV, cable, Blu-Ray, desk, computer, printer, seating area with sofa, upholstered chairs, ottomans and a coffee table. Large en suite bathroom has marble topped double vanity, tub and shower with 10 shower heads. Most of the details in this lovely room are original.
The casitas bedroom, queen bedroom and living room also feature massive sliding glass doors offering unobstructed views of the grounds, mountian and valley. The dining room seats 14 and features dramatic glass walls and a crystal clear view of the mountains, waterfall and polished marble sculpture. Two chandeliers with dimmers provide romantic lighting for formal dinners. The living room includes a baby grand piano and ample seating: 3 chaise lounges, 2 sofa beds, a sofa and numerous chairs. Across the room is a clubby built-in bar, original to the house.
Set on a boulder strewn hillside, the estate offers unparalleled, jaw dropping, 360 degree views of the San Jacinto Mountains, Coachella Valley below and extensively landscaped grounds and paths. The view extends for miles across the valley and mountains. At all times of the day, from the early hours of the morning as the sun rises over the valley until the sun sets and the city lights sparkle alive, this estate offers the best vantage point in Palm Springs bar none. There are over 100 olive trees, 33 palm trees, numerous flowers and cacti and a massive rose garden which was designed and planted by Frederick Loewe himself.
The extensively landscaped grounds also features a variety of entertaining options with expansive main lawn and 'the point'; lower lawn with sculpture water feature; a lowered grass and water feature space; and two-tiered wood deck with unsurpassed views; the picturesque rose garden; and the upper lawn area and tennis court. The estate is often referred to as “magical”. It is the perfect setting for a wedding, corporate event, photo shoots, and other special events. The residence is furnished with many period pieces and extensive art and memorabilia throughout the house and grounds. The Loewe Estate is perfectly situated in a small enclave in the exclusive Little Tuscany neighborhood near downtown and 10 minutes from Palm Springs International Airport.

Cancellations made more than 120 days before your arrival will be charged a 15% cancellation fee on their reservation. Cancellations made within 120 days of your arrival will not receive a refund unless the property can be rebooked for your specified dates.

Just returned from an amazing weekend at this incredible place. Everything about the house and property is amazing! The bedrooms are comfortable and have everything you need. They are sort of like hotel rooms with a TV, DVD player, bathroom, individual heating and air conditioning and comfortable new beds with cozy bedding. I am very picky about where I sleep and I was very comfortable in all respects. Most of the bedrooms have floor to ceiling windows, so you can wake up to a view of the mountains. The house is set up perfectly for hanging out and entertaining, with a large modern kitchen, BBQ, family room with flat screen TV and living room with plenty of seating and a built-in bar and a huge dining room table for 16. Many of the rooms have fire places, although we did not use them because it was warm. Even better than the house itself, are the grounds and views!! The property goes on and on and the landscaping is to die for. There are so many different views, depending on where you are on the property. There is a tennis court, pool, Jacuzzi, 2 golf holes, a rose garden, fountains and multiple sitting areas. There is a big outside fire pit with boulders to sit on and we had a roaring fire at night. Everyone hung out and enjoyed the views of the stars and city lights below. Just being there felt so good and relaxed. Make sure to get up before the sun starts to rise. The orange sky over the mountains is amazing. Even though we were there for the film festival, it was really hard to leave to go out. In fact, if I am lucky enough to go back, I may never leave the property. I felt good from the moment I walked in to the moment I had to leave – it was like I was in another place and it was a special one. The photos don’t do it justice and I can’t do it justice in words – you have to be there.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

Just got back from a stay at this wonderful property. Had a girls weekend with my sisters, nieces and friends. I hadn't been to Palm Springs in a number of years. I thought Palm Springs was a boring place and never intended to return. I have done a 360 in terms of my view of Palm Springs. I love Palm Springs now. I had a fantastic time both hanging at the property and going out in town. I loved getting up in the morning, getting a cup of coffee and sitting on the deck watching the sun rise over the mountains. It put me in a good mood for the whole day. After a while, I would either take a jacuzzi or go hiking. There is a great hike just out the back door. My favorite room in the house is the master bedroom. It is awesome waking up in the morning seeing the sunrise over the mountains. Master bathroom is huge with a eight head shower. We had a great time cooking in the large kitchen, eating at the large dining room table with wonderful views, partying in the huge living room with built in bar, enjoying the warmth from the outside fire pit in the cool night's air. It was wonderful being in our own world with no neighbors to intrude on our fantastic holiday. This rental is not for those looking to save a buck. It is high end rental for those who want to spoil themselves. It is an ideal place to invite guests to hang out. There is a small hotel a couple blocks away to lodge the overflow.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.
