Marigot Bay house description
Marigot Bay was sited by James Michener as 'The most beautiful bay in the Caribbean'. National Geographic has published a book, 'Journeys of a Lifetime 500 of the Worlds Greatest Trips'. Marigot Bay was one of only two places in the Caribbean chosen for this book. A beautiful picture of the bay is included in the book which is sold at Barnes and Noble. There are 12 private, individual seahouses on the side of a hill overlooking Marigot Bay. They are part of Oasis Marigot Vacation Club. Each seahouse has two floors and unobstructed views of the Bay. The living room is on the second floor with double french doors that open onto a 22' by 9' covered verandah from which you can see the sailboats and yachts sail in and out of the bay. There is a marina at the east end of the bay where the Moorings Charter Base is located. Private yachts from all over the world tie up here. The bedroom on the first floor also has double french doors that open up onto a small private balcony. Both the living area and bedroom have high ceilings with fans. The area around the houses is beautifully landscaped with palm trees and tropical plants. A tropical pool is fed by a small waterfall. The four passenger tram rides up and down the hill and within a few minutes can bring you to a restaurant, bar and the beach. There are six restaurants around the bay and two more up the hill in the village above. Across the bay is a mountain dotted with high end vacation homes. This area can be hiked to get a great view of the bay. Behind the seahouses is a nature trail through lush tropical foliage to a high vantage point from which you can see down to the bay, the ocean and mountains in the distance. Having a westerly view to the ocean the setting sun can be seen from the bay each night.

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks in February, 2011 and it was terrific for us. The property was clean and well laid out. Marigot Bay is a wonderfully relaxing place to be if you like to have a quiet and relaxing vacation. There is not much of a beach close by, but a short water taxi will get you to some nice places to spend the day. Relaxing on the deck watching the boats come in and out of the harbour seemed to take up a lot of our time. We took the public bus to most of the west side of the island, but we were glad we chose Marigot Bay. The pool is small, but very private and kept clean.Owners were really helpful in providing useful information for our trip, and the on-site managers were extremely kind and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed to enjoy our vacation. We'll be back.....

Year Purchased: 1992
About: We are retired teachers who moved to the New England Area and wanted a place to go during the cold months. We fell in love with the island and people of St. Lucia. Marigot Bay is a very special place, a truly genuine Caribbean experience.
Why Marigot Bay:
St. Lucia has moderate year round temperature (80's) with mild breezes all year round. It is a great place to totally relax and, if you want, experience some unique adventures. Marigot Bay is very special in that it is very laid back and non-commercial.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Having your own house affords full privacy yet there is always someone in the office to give any assistance you need including dinner reservations, taxis, tours, housekeeping. Each Sunday at 10AM there is an orientation meeting for guests. You can cook in and dine on the verandah with a spectacular view or eat out in one of the waterside restaurants. Across the bay is a bakery, grocery store, ice cream shop, liquor store, bank with ATM and shops. Rental cars are also available.
