Newer YMCA with very reasonable rates per day. Awesome facility with Olympic size pool and the best hot tub.
Once you stay on Venice Island you will be back every year.

This house is even better than the pictures indicated! Location was fantastic - we were able to walk to the beach (although when we were taking all the kids to the beach, we did sometimes drive, just because of all our gear, but I did the walk many times when we were not carrying chairs, umbrellas, coolers, etc.). It is also an easy walk (just over a mile) to the shopping/dining area of downtown Venice. The house was very clean. It was also well stocked - we cooked most evenings for dinner and we didn't have to buy anything, other than groceries - they had coffee maker, casserole dishes, plenty of silverware, plates, cups, wine glasses, mugs, pots, pans, grill, grill tools - even a muffin pan! The owner was fantastic to work with too. We had tons of questions and she answered them all patiently. Once there, she e-mailed once to make sure we found everything in good condition and then she sent us a groupon for a nearby children's museum when the rain from Hurricane Debby kept us indoors for a few days. As for space, we had two families travelling together, four adults and four kids and there was plenty of room. And what could be better than your own pool? No sharing or worrying about not having a lounge chair - and the owner keeps plenty of pool floats and toys in the garage, no need to bring that stuff! With four kids, we were so glad that the pool had a safety gate around it - no worrying about the kids getting out of bed at night and getting hurt in the pool. Speaking of the kids, there was lots of things you need for kids/babies, from a pack and play to highchair, bouncy seat and exersaucer (and is stored in the garage, so if you don't need those items, they are not in your way). Dog friendly too, with a fenced area for your four legged friends to run around. Next time we plan to vacation at the Gulf, we will be staying here! It was fantastic!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was our second visit to this house, and we are looking forward to the third. The house is every bit as good as described. The location on Venice Island is ideal - great neighborhood, a short walk to the beach, to town and to the many wonderful offerings of this area (bike trails, great restaurants, beach and cultural activities, shopping, etc.). The owner has always been quick to respond to any questions and always follows through promptly. Well deserving of our "Excellent" rating experience.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

Nice comfortable pool home, nice neighborhood, accommodating owners, easy walk to the beach or downtown, everything you need for a good time. We even had great weather the entire stay.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.
