'The Townhouse'
Ryan House is located just off 2nd Street in the Historic District of Gulfport. This area is experiencing a significant revitalization. The location can't be beat. 1 Block from the beach and main beach highway. This unit is located in the back half of the building and is two stories, it does not have a front porch...but it does have a private courtyard.
There are numerous restaurants within walking distance including Salute and Chimneys. Many other restaurants and bars are just a few blocks away in the up and coming Downtown Gulfport area(Half-Shell Oyster Bar and Tony's Brick Over Pizzeria).
This unit is more than 1,600 sq ft providing ample space to relax including the private courtyard for this unit only.
This home was built in the thirties and is still standing proudly despite Camille and Katrina. The home has undergone extensive renovations but still has a lot of the charm of the original house including the wood floors and moldings.
Whether you stay a few days, a week or a month you will find this to be as comfortable as being at home.
This is a two story townhouse unit with 2 bedrooms and a bath upstairs along with a full sized washer and dryer in the utility room. Downstairs has the kitchen, den, separate dining room and master bedroom with bathroom...we also have a writing/laptop desk area with wifi for those who need computer access. There is also a fenced in courtyard just off the den with outdoor seating and an umbrella.
With the close proximity to the Port of Gulfport and other major projects along the coast, Ryan House also serves the needs for those looking for a longer term corporate rental. Our rates are all inclusive---this means no additional fees. We also have a smaller unit at the same location...please check out that listing as well on VRBO. A lot of care has gone into making Ryan House a special place, we hope you like what we've created.

Just 2 blocks from the beach, close to restaurants, and the new Barksdale pavilion with playground & SplashPad. The house was clean, well-decorated, & organized and contained everything we needed for our family of 4. During our visit, we dined at Tony's Brick Oven pizzeria (best pizza in Mississippi as rated by Food Network Magazine)), Big Mike's Speakeasy & Port City cafe. All were great, reasonably priced and within a 10 minute walk.Recommended for: Families with young children.

My husband and I spent a long weekend in Ryan House Too and loved it!! The house is in a great location; close to the beach and many great restaurants. The house is very private and quiet; we loved having our morning coffee on the patio, and we walked across the street for church Sunday morning. We will definitely stay at Ryan House the next time we are in Gulfport!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We are 3 Senior guys doing volunteer rehab work on Katrina damaged homes in Biloxi, NOLA and Gulfport. We were looking for something a little better than volunteer housing for this trip but it still had to be affordable. The Ryan House Too had it all. It is clean, comfortable and well appointed. About 15 minutes from GPT Airport and a couple of blocks from the endless beautiful Gulf beach it's location was ideal for us. Biloxi is about 20 minutes East on the Rt 90 beach highway and I10 is about 20 minutes north. The house (actually the back half of the big house shown in the photo) was well equipped with a downstairs Queen bedroom with attached full bath, and 2 good sized bedrooms upstairs (1 Queen bedroom and 1 with 2 Twin beds) with another full bath and laundry room with W/D and ironing board. All the beds were excellent. Ample clean sheets and towels are furnished. All the bedrooms have TV. Downstairs is a large Kitchen with D/W, Microwave, electric smooth top range and Refridge/Freezer. Living room with desk 2 couches a chair and flat screen cable TV. The large dining room has a round table and 4 chairs. WiFi is available throughout the unit. All was comfortable, clean and in good condition. We only used the street entrance once as the back entrance thru the fenced patio was closer and more convenient for parking. The patio has 4 chairs, a round table with umbrella and a charcoal grill. This would be perfect for up to 3 couples or a 6 person family. We were really happy with our 8 day stay and will definitely try to book it again on our next trip. Thanks for sharing your house with us.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I stayed at the Ryan House for four days and nights, and let me tell you, it was fantastic. The house was absolutely beautiful, and the pictures here on this site are completely accurate. Each room looked as good in person as it does in the pictures. There was plenty of room for my kids to spread out and play while we cooked our meals in the fully furnished kitchen. Everything worked very well in the house, and it was completely clean upon our arrival. The patio out back was lovely, and we were able to spend each morning outside having breakfast and having supper in the evenings. It had plenty of room for the kids to run and play after eating. And the privacy fence kept outside noise to a minimum, though there really was very little noise around the house. Very quiet neighbors and little traffic on the street. The only drawback was the fact that there is a train track that runs very near the house, and it was loud at night. However, I turned on a fan in the room (that I had brought with me), and I couldn't hear the train anymore. Our overall experience was fantastic, and I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to stay near the beach for a very reasonable price!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I can't even begin to say how much we enjoyed staying here!!! The unit was so clean, modern, comfortable and located in the absolute best area we could imagine!! The beach is literally a 2 minute walk, the mall and movie theather are only minutes away, and the casinos are close, so it's perfect for any kind of travelers!! The owners are the kindest people, and make sure that anyone staying in their unit feels right at home. There is nowhere else I'd stay when visiting the area!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Old world CHARM & Modern amenities in a great location! Beautifully decorated, with functional furnishings! Very comfortable and spacious! We have NEVER found better accomodations anywhere. It seemed to be built, restored & perfectly tailored for our family needs. I am already planning a return trip & a longer stay. The "Ryan House" is my primary purpose to re-visit Gulfport. We want to enjoy more of the facilities like the BBQ grill in the private courtyard. The owners responded quickly to our question about parking & pleased that there is convenient & adequate parking within a few steps of the entrance to make it easy to carry suitcases/groceries in. I could just go on & on, but the bottom line is, we LOVED our visit & will return!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My best friend from New York along with her son met up with myself and my step daughter from central Miss to spend a long weekend. We had the best time at this townhouse with having plenty of room and space to gather together or be in private. We were able to have all of the comforts of our own homes. House is close to everything: beach, shopping, outlet mall, movies, good food and Wal-Mart. I will definitley book this place again in the future AND highly recommend. You will not be disappointed!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Recently my family stayed a week at this property. The home was beautifully decorated, spacious and well stocked with many home away from home amenities. It was close to the beach and downtown Gulfport and just a short drive to Biloxi and the casinos. There was definitely attention to detail in this home. On our next vacation back to the Gulf area, this home will again be at the top of the list.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: We have owned this property nearly a decade---it's named after our first born daughter Ryan. Ryan House, has a lot of charm and history. The house was originally built in the 30's and has weathered the 2 worst Hurricanes in U.S. history, Camille and Katrina(Andrew for Florida folks). We have renovated the house twice---one time was planned and the second was following Katrina. We have saved a lot of the character of the structure and added modern amenities.
Why the Owner Chose Gulfport:
The Gulf Coast is the best place to be. From New Orleans to Destin, there is always something to see and new discoveries to be made. This location is central to all of the exciting things on the coast. The casinos are fun-the beaches, boating and local cuisine can't be beat.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The main benefit of being on the coast is to relax. We are across the street from the beach. This means you are only a boat ride away from exploring Ship Island. Island View Casino is just a few minutes away offering a great buffet and Emeril's new restaurant. We also like the outlet mall just up Highway 49.
