This place was just perfect for us - 2 adults and 4 kids (ages 8, 6, 3 and 2). The accommodations were nice and we had pretty much everything we needed. The house was great and the kids really enjoyed the hot tub and feeding the deer every evening. The owner came and met us the 2nd day as he was bringing something out to the house and we enjoyed chatting with him. We took this vacation as a last getaway before school started and it was so nice as there were not very many people on the water during the week and we took some side trips as well.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

The house was very sufficient for our needs. Six adults and 4 kids. Great for families with children. We spent much of our time there outdoors on the patio and balcony. The kids loved feeding the deer. Two hundred pounds of corn in three days! We felt the kids were safe paddling around in the canal with their life vests on. Also caught fish from the back of the boat we kept docked right in front of the house. Thank you for letting others share your wonderful lake house.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Great place really enjoyed the Lake. The House and hot tub were perfect. Sitting on the upper deck with the sun setting was a great way to end the day. Also feeding the deer by hand was really cool for the Kids. Would definitely recommend renting this place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1

this house is small, simple and can easily accommodate 4 adults and 4 kids. One of the kid beds is small, and shd only be used for two small children or one larger child. Appointments and appliances are adequate but not elegant, so a good match for families with children. Place is clean and cheerful, but a bit worn. Kitchen has necessary appliances, and there is plastic dishes and cups but no glasses. If you want to drink wine, bring your own glasses. Some basic supplies were absent, like dishsoap, paper towels, tissues....don't think I shd need to buy that. House has good location, paddle boat for exploring lake. We had a great time on a boat rental (nearby), the lake is fantastic. The deck is very nice, and allows you to avoid the deer. I found the ultra-tame deer creepy and upsetting. This is a personal thing- but the deer are downright pushy, and will try and get in the house if you let them. They have no instinctual fear of humans, and act more like a badly trained dog. I did not find this cute or heart-warming. There is a huge BBQ grill/smoker, no propane grill. Hot tub was enjoyed by our kids. All in all, a good value for this vacation area, which can be quite pricey.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This rental is clean and nice. The children loved watching the deer and the area was safe enough that we were comfortable letting our 7 and 8 year old's wander around the neighborhood a bit. We rented a boat and there is not a good/safe place to dock a boat at the house. Also, there is a shortage of towels in the rental. Overall, the place was a good deal for the money...but bring towels!Owner response: We are happy your family had a good time and I'm sorry you had a hard time with the boat and locating the spare towels under the sink. I bring my 24' ranger boat and have not had any problems. We try extremely hard to have a great place for our guests to have a great time. If your family would like to stay again i would be more than happy to have you.

My husband and I stayed at this lake house on Lake LBJ and had an amazing time! We were celebrating an early anniversary with just the two of us (our two boys were gone to grandma's house) and this lake house provided the perfect getaway destination. Everything was so clean and in awesome condition - we had so much space and can't wait to return again with our boys in tow! We cooked out on the back porch while enjoying the spacious hot tub the first evening. On the second night we watched a movie on the huge flat screen TV in the living room and then enjoyed the beautiful weather and sunset from the top deck. By this time we were having so much fun that we invited my brother and sister-in-law to drive out from Austin and enjoy the place with us on the third night. We took a ride in our boat (which we launched about 100 yards down the road at the private boat launch) and enjoyed seeking the lake and later cooked salmon and enjoyed the evening back at the house. We did some fishing during the mornings, relaxing during the afternoons and of course made it into town for some famous chocolate pie at Bluebonnet Cafe! This is such an awesome lake house for an anniversary, family or friends getaway and we look forward to staying again soon. This will be an anniversary to remember!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Came here with my family for my brothers wedding - pretty frustrated about the 4hr drive and the expenses to come. Once I arrived my whole mind set changed. From the moment we pulled into the driveway we were VERY HAPPY we were here. Thanks Chad for providing us a clean and beautilful home to stay with a FABULOUS VIEW. One evening we just hung out in the hot tub while deer were just a few feet away. My children fed deer right from their hands (we used bread). I didn't think to bring stuff for my 5 year old son but Chad had everything there he needed to play. I REGRET not renting the home for a week. We were able to rent a boat Sat am prior to the wedding and my 5yr and 13yr old went tubing. The water was perfect! We promised to add this to our budget for future family vacations.Owner response: THANK YOU FOR VISITING OUR PLACE. WE WILL BE LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR RETURN ASAP! BRING DEER CORN FOR FEEDING NEXT TIME AND THEY WILL LOVE YOU.. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR STAY.

What a great week!!!1 Chad, you and your family have a wonderful home. Had a 21' bowrider that we were able to dock right at the house. A little shallow but Chad gave great tips on how to navigate the shallow waters in the cove. My sons loved feeding the deer, be sure to bring plenty of deer corn, and as another reviewer said, they love watermelon too. The hot tub was just the perfect way to settle in for the evening. Mine and my friends sons spent a lot of time in there. Will definitely be back. Thanks again Chad.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

This house was awesome! It was clean, and as others have said, very friendly for young children. We had a great time relaxing in the hot tub, feeding the deer, fishing and grilling outside. The paddle boat was fun, and my son had a great time trying out all the toys that were in the outside closet, as well as the toys in the upstairs closet! The house was very clean and well stocked with the necessities. The only downside was that they are building a house right next door, and that put a damper on what we thought would be nice quiet mornings to have breakfast on the patio. The workers were there by 6:30 a.m. most mornings came as early as 4:30 a.m. on our last day at the house, and were pouring the foundation! Hopefully they will build the house quickly and it won't disturb others' vacations. We had the best lunch and breakfast at the Noon Spoon Cage in Marble Falls! Highly recommended!Recommended for: Families with young children

We recently made the trip to Star and Chad's beautiful home from Maryland! It was wonderful to find, that after our 27 hour road trip, that the home was exactly as described! We were lucky enough to get to meet the owners and they were wonderful, friendly people as well! Down to earth and super helpful! We have two children 13 and 15 and they were entertained the entire week feeding the deer every night! They really like watermelon pieces! They also enjoyed the T.V.'s to watch their favorite shows at night. The two decks made relaxing and watching the sunset over the water a must do every night. It was lovely sitting out there in the evenings enjoying the breeze. We enjoyed the Blue Bonnet Cafe for breakfast, the River Front Grille for dinner and Chad pointed us in the direction of a great German meat market where we bought some fantastic foods to grill on the giant smoker! You have to try the stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon!! Can't remember the name of the meat market but Chad can tell you where it is. Overall we had a great time, in a great house for a fantastic price!! We will definitely be staying there again, should we be back to visit! Thanks again to Chad and Star for a fantastic experience! This place looks and is exactly as described on VRBO. The owner was wonderful to work with and very helpful with area "tips". We have a 24' boat, so he was careful to describe the depths of the channel so that we could dock our boat without any damage to the prop. We also found the boat ramp in this subdivision was in good condition making it easy to get ort boat in and out of the water. We have three small boys (9,7,3) and they could not get enough of the fishing, turtles and hand-feeding of the deer ~ I wish there was some way to share their excitement of this experience in this review. Because we mostly cooked at the house and have a large family, I will probably bring a few kitchen items from home when we come back in August (additional pots, storage containers). That being said, it was wonderful to find that because of Chad's "fridge policy", there were some basics in the fridge when we arrived :-) made it super nice with boys that were tired of traveling!! We loved having the two patios and DISH TV at night for the kids to wind-down on the sofa was just perfect. I really can't say enough wonderful things about this house!! We cannot wait to come back in August ~ and book our vacation for next year!!! P.S. > If you are a boater, make sure to check a Google map for marinas on the lake. You will find gas prices vary by $1 per gallon depending on the marina! We also recommend Janie's Tacos in Marble Falls, and the Bluebonnet Cafe for breakfast. Also, Lake Area Storage is a great place to keep your boat if you will be making return trips ~ they were super easy to deal with!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We had a fantastic stay at this property while we were in town for a wedding. It was perfect for the 5 of us and 1 child. The wedding group was staying at the Marriott and this home was much more cost effective (and a beautiful 30 minute walk to the Marriott). The pictures show the property very well. We thank Chad and his family for leaving food in the freezer and condiments if needed. I would highly recommend this home to everyone staying in the area. Thanks for a GREAT visit!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family of 4 and 2 extra teens stayed here for Spring Break, 5 nights. I loved the 2 outside spaces, the upper deck and the lower outdoor kitchen area. Enjoyed sitting out and drinking my coffee and reading my book. There are LOTS of deer in the area and they came right up to the kids the first day we got there. It is a very peaceful place but a fun area too! The owner is very helpful and will answer all your questions. We fed the dear, rode the paddle boat, smoked some beef, enjoyed the hot tub and spent countless hours on the upper patio enjoying the serenity. We will certainly return. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Quiet and relaxing are the first two words that come to mind when describing Let’s Make A Deal on Horseshoe Bay. Looking out at the lake from the dock while both geese and deer fed nearby was so peaceful, and was a great way to bring in the New Year. The house was clean and cozy, and offered everything we needed, while the hot tub was an additional luxury. Overall, we had an enjoyable time and would recommend to those that want to get away from city life for a few days.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

First of all Chad the owner was great to deal with. Our family really enjoyed the place. Loved the deck, of course it was in the mid 70's at the time. The waterfront access was a little small but for the price, just a great deal. The home was very clean. We plan on coming back soon, really beats the hotel route. Make sure to ask Chad about about The Bluebonnett Cafe.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a Great weekend at your lake house. The decorations and furnishings are very nice. While I was sitting on your elevated covered patio eating ribs cooked on your big smoker, I though it couldn't get better than this. Then my wife to the top off.....................................................................................of the jacuzzi that is, located on the lower patio. We sat in it and enjoyed watching the wild deer come within 5 ft of us. I am thinking that we will be back in the summer to enjoy the lake, which is right at your door steps. The kids will have to make that trip with us. We would like to give you two thumbs up for a very nice weekend at your lakehouse.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you so much for opening up your wonderful home for my enjoyment. Your home is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I had a very relaxing stay and an awesome time. I loved lounging on both of the decks. The patio furniture is so comfortable. I was so relaxed sitting out there, reading a book with the calmness of the Lake and watching the very friendly Deer in the yard. After a long day on the lake the hot tub was a huge success!! Your home had all the accommodations I needed. We have 6 year old triplet boys and this place is like heaven to them. They did not want to leave. Where else can you swim, fish, sit by the fire pit, feed the deer by hand (like 40 of them came up to us at one time!), and then relax in the hot tub? The upstairs deck is perfect for relaxing and eating some of the great meals we prepared on the huge BBQ pit downstairs. We had more than enough room for sleeping with the bunk beds in the master suite and the extra fold out couches. I would 100% recommend this house for people with kids or for a weekend escape from the kids :) Overall: very cute house, lots to do, in a quiet residential neighborhood. You must come feed the deer out of your hand it is an awesome experience!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.
